This is sort of an entertaining toss-off but Steve is an absolutely amazing songwriter - he's had 7 number one songs on Billboard Country Charts - but more than that he's just a plain wonderful person and a treasure to any budding songwriter fortunate enough to have studied with him as I have.
I had a chance to see him work with children today in my school district. He and the children wrote a "halloween" song. It was awesome!

I Made a song with him called Step Up and Take A Stand but when it was time to record it he never called >:O
He never even gave me the song track!
