Although I disagree philosophically with this guy on essentially everything he ever did as president, He was very persuasive and articulate. Its funny to put him next to president Bush.
5:30.... wow... reagan is so full of shit. he acts like he came up with the idea to put bilingual teachers in classrooms. this guy set America back 15 years
Name one leader today, who would allow such a dialogue with students so open ended and free flowing that was not just regurgitated campaign talking points, much less FILM the exchange.
The "headline" culture without context Reagan speaks of is falling down in the modern day because of technology like this - the ability to see raw video, learn the context in which questions are asked, etc.
I disagreed with Reagan on almost every issue there was. I'm a liberal. But his manner and charm and mastery of facts, and more importantly, his ability to convey in simple elegant talking points, was just so admirable. A thoroughly likable adversary, and I wish his party hadn't taken his views and driven them off a cliff. He'd be run out of the party today for being too liberal. They all would. A sad thing he wrought. But what a great gentleman.
Fascinating. Reagan is articulate and charming with his common-sense approach to things in this video. No show & put-ons. He also proves a good listener, something politicians no longer do. I think this is what Beatty and Redford wanted politicians to behave like in their films, only they brought their baggage and prejudices to each project. We could all learn a great deal from this video.
Ronald Reagan had an an amazing intelligence, honesty, and perspective, that was so underrated - actually his adversaries counting him a "lightweight" worked to his ultimate advantage. How different this man from the more recent (including current) occupants of the Oval Office.
I wish everyone could see this video: this is the real Reagan. Highly intelligent, highly articulate, not trying to charm, not putting on a show. Just Reagan--speaking his mind, and knowing that he's right.
What i like about Reagan was that he didn`t treat the liberals like shit. He reached out to everybody and talked to them. Nixon was the opposite. He created enemies!
-Reagan was brilliant !

This is a great video. Students asking questions off the record about touchy issues of the time.

An awesome fellow. Ready to debate and defend his ideas and hear the arguments on the other side in a friendly way.

That man was a god. He ran circles around everyone else. How did anyone ever think he was just an actor?
