Yeaaaah, unless you actually want to play in tournaments. Because if you take these orange tip off, you're not capable of entering. But I guess taking it off is good if your just playing with your friends. I painted my d.eagle's tip black. But that was a terrible d.eagle and broke after a few days. I have the same gun, and i think the stock is ok, you say it WILL break but mine works fine. And with a velocity speed of 300 fps (90 m/s) ,it's quite good, and it gives a more realistic feeling, that it weighs about 3000 grams (around 6 pounds).

Ya i have this gun to. My stock broke off.... It's kind of annoying but it's still a GREAT gun. Yours only shoots 300? I shot mine in an FPS tester thing and it said 375.

haha thanks dude. Anyway yeah these make great loanout guns, because they are relatively cheap and they are really reliable. But at the same time you didn't spend a shit load of money on them so you aren't too worried when your noobie friend is out rolling around in mud with it.(as opposed to if he was doing that with your classic army or TM)

also the only complaint i have about mine maybe.. seeing as the handle and front grip are plastic.. my handle squeeks slightly when i squeeze it too hard.. still feels solid though :) VERY durable, reliable gun.. wouldnt not recommend to anyone not to buy it;) its worth the investment unlike some other brands where its hit or miss

I've got the CM-028A with the stock, but in black instead of simulated wood.. anyway, it'll punch into a 24oz coors can and out the back from 15 feet or so, and stay in the can from further out. Oh, and you might wanna adjust your sights if it took 3 shots to hit a soda can :p

Well it was about a year ago when I made this review, but since then I've seen improvements in the CM-028. Also, the full stock CM-028A has around a 400FPS chrono count as to where the CM-028-s has about a 260FPS chrono count. the CM-028-S was meant to be used for close battles.

Hope that clarifies why its not as accurate and/or as powerful.

Do you find that your battery cuts out or loses power fast? I can not use mine for a day or two and when i go to fire the battery just won't kick in. Then after a while it might randomly start again.

I don't know if US have different cans then UK but mine can easily punch through cans and out the other side again.

Just an update, I bought this around June of '07. I have not cleaned it or taken it apart. I have beaten it reckless and given it no mercy. This gun is still surviving and is still working relatively well. The motor is just now getting close to the end of its days. (Thats almost a year and I airsoft regularly)

CYMA weapons aren't bad, I've got CM 031 which is CYMA's production of an AK-74M and it's pretty good. It seems a lot more powerful than the 028-S, which is disappointing because I was thinking of getting one.

Lol well your an idiot. The spring in a CM-028-s is meant for close quarters combat, taking the FPS to 300. While in the CM-028 they put a huge ass spring in it that makes it shoot around 400(until it breaks). CYMA's are not meant to shoot 400.

i bought the stock version. very good. internal stock bushings wore out really fast. gotta replace them now. i scratched the sticker off since the plastic isnt painted, and tore off the orange tip for the threaded tip. good review.

The effective range all depends on the hop up and wind etc, but the booklet says 130 feet (I doubt that).
