  • I dont understand how to get folding@home to work properly with my i7. I downloaded the SMP client and HFM.net but it only uses my cores 15%... i wish they made this a little less complicated. If they did that they would have alot more support than what they do and you cant find a decent guide for it anywhere, its so annoying.

  • dlaczego w tym projekcie macza palce taka firma jak MONSANTO - nie polecam

  • I do it and I love it!

  • I will join :)

  • my internet bill went 600-700 buck sorry id rather donate money

  • You are wrong sir. That is just an outrageous claim. Its true that these companies are greedy fucks and sucking money away, but its kind of silly to say they create cancer.

  • 1 more amd phenom x4 for the hive, thanks to you.

    Thanks for the info.

  • Great video on spreading the word. I have been folding for a while now because it is something that I believe in.

  • waste of power

  • i dont know how a super computer can solve diseasses unless you have a awesome baddas ai like cortana or somethin

  • paranoid too much? also...fyi there're genetic diseases

  • I like the idea But.....

How can we make sure its not a spyware of just Trojan horse?

  • uhhh because its made by scientists who are trying to find cures? not money?

  • my pc doesn't rest

  • Ever since I downloaded this program my mouse would freeze every 30 seconds for about 10 seconds. When I removed it it stopped completely. I will reinstall it when they fix that if they ever do.

  • Colleges, for example, might as well just donate money for research. Running a lot of computers 24/7 with higher than usual clock cycles will just cause higher power consumption.

  • Anyone think overclocked CPUs would benifit this?

Also, why is everyone complaining about 'security threats'?

  • i set up a separate linux machine just for this

been doing this for 2 days straight now,

so i'd say no, but it still helps :P

  • yup.

  • no disrespect to you.

    but i don't trust it.

but not just the company, but what stops people from hacking it and getting into your own pc?

  • thats what i was also thinking!

  • awesome man

  • i dont trust the government to look throught my files with my permision

  • thats what i was thinking...

  • you just cant trust em

  • Hey how much bandwidth does this use?

  • they use computer power on your costs!

  • Jeez...

YouTube + Conspiracy theories = Paranoidism and brainwashing.

  • hmm , what the hell is folding@home?

  • same thing.

  • Hmmm. Watch the video?

  • I enjoy to Fold@Home. Does that make me a bad person?

  • dled it, wouldnt connect. did everything it said and it still wont connect so fml

  • but i'll download it anyway.

  • oh and they won't release a cure for cancer even if we found one because hospitals make too much money off it. people are greedy.

  • i never have my laptop on idle. if i leave it i put it to sleep so i don't waste powerssss.

  • I advice Folding@Home

  • eya Folding@Home is great i use it on my PS3

  • Ill join

  • this is awesome! now i can help save the world while sitting on my ass XD

  • i installed it on windows 7 rtm but everytime i try to open it it says the programs needs to reboot i reboot and it says same thing i even put it in compatibility mode for windows vista and ideas?

  • I use Folding @ Home on my CPU and GPU.

  • what kind of mouse cursor you use?? i mean pointer?? i want it!!

  • he did a video on that subject.

  • James Bond - Goldeneye bowl haha :)

  • FOLDING AT HOME!!!!!!!!!!

  • hey, im guessing this may use a lot of bandwith?

here in canada in only have 60 gigs a month :\

  • 0o?

  • I just wonder when are we gonna see results for any of the causes mentioned on those websites...might try it again with my pc in idle...thanks for the video man ;)

  • Good idea, I don't usually have a ss running(if I'm afk, I'll shutdown instead)...and my cpu kinda sucks and wouldn't help out too much.

Don't know how much research takes tons of processing though lol.

  • I've being doing this for a while on my PS3, PS3 owners can download Folding@home as well.

  • And thanks for doing this vid pcwiz.

  • that is awsome

  • I used to get my laptop to folding with the core 2 duo, but i gets very hot and dangerous...

  • its probably not recommend for laptops. due to small heat sinks and fans. if you got a ps3 or a desktop/gaming rigg. by all means do it, i did it with my ps3.

  • WOWW i cant believe you took the time to show me how stupid and retard you are.

  • seriously i dont care about your opinion. next time dont write such stupied comments its a waste of bandwidth. you fuktard

  • STUPIED

  • yes dont downsize mrwizkids videos ok you bitch. hey gundambob646 subscribe to my videos please....I need a lot of encouragement from people and your sub could be going to a worth cause

  • NO U

  • Ive been using Folding@home and have folded 1,000,000+ points. :)

  • Been doing this for ages, really interesting stuff!

  • are you doing it?...thats the question.

  • @Jesomatic, I've been doing it for years of course!

  • @Jesomatic my team is in the first 10 in national WCG ranking

  • @paolillo67 nice to hear that buddy

  • nice

  • lol fightAIDS@home

  • There's no catch, its just using your idle CPU for a good cause

  • or use the GPU excellerated one.

  • i joined!

I am also curious, where can I recycle or sell old computer parts?

  • I use Folding@Home, I've donated 204113 points of data processing.

  • good!

  • Whoever says this is a commerical is a dumbass. Folding@Home is very well known among overclockers, and many many people use it to test their GPU and contribute to charity.

  • awesome thanks

  • "I encourage you to participate (...)"

Is somebody trying to create a botnet?

  • dont waste your money on Glaciatech, i had no good experience with this brand , so never glaciatech ever for me id say spend a few more buch and get the Thermelright 120 and the other top cooling coolers.

  • So it's like this charity is using your CPU power to help them find out more information on certain diseases and such

  • I'm already a member of Folding@home.

I may have a look at other causes, mainly due to the fact F@h are doing so well now, I'll give someone else a chance lol

  • thats very nice, but why do i feel like i'm watching a commercial?

  • @xoANONiMUSox, lol, its fo rcharity man, this aint no commercial. Cheers

  • thats nice!!!

  • folding@home does that iswell

  • is there a meter that would tell me how much i've helped or something like that ,

  • @bigdima3, yes there is a option to check the status within the tool and also online on your account.

  • Another question. Does this use mostly on CPU, or does it use GPU as well?

  • @aigamerDS, it uses CPU processing for the most part, except for when you have the screen saver option on.

  • @PCWizKid There are a few projects however that can use the GPU.

  • Can I put this in more than one computer with a same account?

  • @aigamerDS, yes you can.

  • If I'm not in front of my computer it is off. But I'm processing for the clean energy project, nutritious rice for the world, and human preteome folding.

  • why not just do F@H?

    oh wait...ATI...

  • folding@home on my ps3 doesn't work :(

  • why would I donate my cpu power to someone? why wouldn't it be vice versa? Maybe I'll discover something mindblowing someday

  • if everybody thinks like that, then who will donate cpu power?

  • botnet.

  • I donate my cpu-clocks to the trojan i have as everyone else

  • thats really clever tbh

  • does this work on windows 7 i got a full version allready lol

  • lol

  • u want a copy just ask

  • no catch no nothing no strings no virues nothing at all bad trust me im useing it as we speak

  • heh ok, i live near bath btw, bristol lol

  • Don't do this - don't waste energy.

  • I have tried this once quite a few years ago but quit because I was uncomfortable with my slow bulky laptop (I no longer have it) that ran hot and maxed out the fan when I did it.

Who knows, I may just look into this again. It really is for a good cause after all ;-)

  • sounds like a big big virus.

  • pcwizkid wouldent distribute a virus

  • pcwizkid wouldnt give ppl a virus

  • Excellent, now i can put my pc to use when i leave it on during the nights :D

  • I'm in!

  • wow this is amazing. whoever made this deservers alot.

  • Does this have a 64bit version of the program so you can maximize the effectiveness of the processing ?

  • HUZZAH! I will finaly be able to use my 2.83 GHZ quad core!

Untill now I was using 23% while playing Crysis!

  • lol my bf-heroes eats my to 100% (3200amd xp)

  • omg that's amazing! I'll do it ^^

but does it cost any bandwidth? because I sometimes download stuff while I keep my pc idle.

  • @bangNL94, very little bandwidth, its only to send data once in a while from the processing results done on your PC.

  • I dont get why ewrybody reserches canser aids and other shit if you culd reaserch somthing more practical and usfull . We still have problems like dying from regular flu, we are not able to predict natural disasters, and other things. How many people die from aids or cancer and how many die from not beieng prepered 4 ertqueikes? or other supousedly curable deseses? We alredy have more than one cure 4 cancer but noone reserches those futher or gets rid of side efects. Thats bulshit!

  • @mapu1, thats why you can choose to support another cause. Aids and Cancer are justa few, there are many others on the list that meet exactly what you said, so there is something for everyone.

  • yeah man, now cancer is like having flu, according to your words,... are u an alien or maybe have finded the holy grial for cancer. Totally noob coment.

  • N I am sayin insted of traying to help 10000 peple is not as good as actualy helping 10000000 peple a person with your 1337 brain probably cud understand that.

  • @mapu1

Well, even if we cant save 10000000 atleast we helped some.

  • so how secure is this type of program, will all my data be safe? some more info on it would be great. I think that will ease a big concern for us debating to participate in a program like this.

  • @lightninguru26, yes its safe, its been proven and it has been out for years.

  • That's very cool!

  • That's a great thing, I will participate. :-)

  • you're so nice. good vid PCWizKid.

  • let me ask u a quick question?

do people really give a flying f*** if their computer is idle and not using clock cycles?

  • @chuongnguyen1993, honestly, some people dont, some do. Do you have a family member with cancer? Maybe if you did you would think differently....

  • maybe dickheads don´t, thats is the question to think about probably...

  • I like the screen saver thing instead of running it all the time in the background.

    *download*

  • Dowloading a program fromt their website allowing them use your power when you arent using it? Or in my opinion allow people to hack into your system easyer? I dunno but this doesnt buy me sorry.

  • There is a clear difference between you using your cpu to do work then sending the information to them. And them hacking your computer.

    Dumbass

  • Was just my opinion you do not need to be so dramatic about it. I understand that it may of sounded stupid and uneducated. But we may not all know everything about computers, so please leave the small snarky comments at the end of your comments out thank you.

  • @240sxdrifter, dont be so paranoid. This has been out for years! I just told you now, nothing and no one has ever complained or proven this has security issues. So relax.

  • I know, i have been using folding@home for some time now. I was replying to someone else

  • @240sxdrifter, cool stuff, thanks man.

  • it is good software pcwizkid and add it works on windows 7 u should i got a copy of it early if u want a copy of ulitmate jstr ask i give u the torrent link

  • @secretbadger2, its ok, Microsoft is sending me it, thanks tough.

  • lucky how do u get these free things still it is better than ur current version i aint going 2 tell u 2 much 2 spoil the suprise

  • what's the catch

  • Good for u mate, we don´t the the shity powerhorse from ur shity pc, go play sims instead...

  • im already doing folding@home

  • me too folding, nice, it would be a good idea a folding team, but i´m taken sorry ;)

  • what?

  • now that was some epic lose of time man but thanks for showing

  • why
