@TheVishal73 dorbin83 is right, those are mutes. Maybe easier to understand is you just lightly lay your fingers across the strings with the fret hand enough to silence the strings but not too hard...not too light. It will take some practice to get the right amount of pressure to get the sound you want. It also makes a difference which frets you do it on, you get a deeper chunkier sound on the lower frets.

@AFIROCK100 Your comment just seemed to put down my guitar for not being a Les Paul. With the tuning it is strange the string is in tune, you can hear that it is in tune for the other parts of the song like @ 2:02 as you mentioned. But for some reason at the higher frets like 17th and up it always seemed out of tune just for those frets so it must be a set up problem with the guitar or something. It's like that in my Jars cover also.

Read the description...this is a cover and the way I play it. It is slightly easier to play the main riff all on the top string and in a live situation (with no backing track to compare to it works just fine. Can't tell the difference when playing by its self.

In a live playing situation without the backing track you cannot tell the difference. You only hear it cause the original is right there with it. This is to help people play the song easiest way possible cause most people looking for tabs are beginners. I love the people that "could" show me how to play things but just can't for some reason. This is drop C tuning so yes I think you would have to have a tuner since all 6 strings need to be tuned down. I sure don't know how to tune all 6 strings down by ear.....I am just using distortion, no effects.

it's actualy very simple to tune in drop C by ear all you have to do is hold the low E sting at the 9th fret and make it sound like the open.....uhhh...fuck im not good with the string names yet XD i think its A? and then from there just tune like you would in standerd E hold the 5th fret on A and make open D sound like it...is the next one D?? w/e you get the point lol

Just lift pressure off the strings with your fret hand so your fingers just lightly touch the strings. You will have to play around with how much pressure to get the sound you want.
