  • I can't believe you're singing while your washing your dishes I never sing when I wash my dishes you have a great attitude continued doing you tube and I'll still watch you thank you, Maria

  • @cubalakeland I like singing!

  • Nice video. I make up dish soap out of my leftover kitchen grease....it's good stuff and it keeps all that grease from going to waste or clogging my drains. :)

  • @gmmcnair Do you find that the dishsoap leaves a greasy film in the bottom of the sink?

  • @NancyToday

Not really, but I keep little dollar store grater on a hook by the sink and grate a tablespoon or so into my dishwater. That's usually enough to keep the grease suspended, and then I use a soap scrubby sponge for extra dirty dishes. Most of them practically rinse themselves clean that way. I'm a lazy dish washer LOL!

  • I love the expression "Use it ip, wear it out, make it do, or do without" so much that I have taken it and started saying and implementing it in our home.

  • you seem like such a good person,,but i have 1 question. What in the world is running in the background is it the dryer or???

  • nanc, when i came to new zealand i noticed that the housewives here, for the most part, do not rinse the soap after they wash dishes, they just wash and put them in the drying rack!!! ewwwwwww i almost died yuck imagine eating all that surfactant! now i eat at other people's house with a bit of reservation, and if i come home with a tummy ache, ummm soap poisoning! lololol i rinse twice lol

  • @hell0hkitty It's the same in Canada, only they wipe the dishwater off with a tea towel. I can't imagine thinking it's clean. Not when I see all the yuck in rinse water!

  • Hello Nancy, I cant figure why would people worry about what you should have done with the towel. As you said, "your going to try and experiment".( For the people who commented on using the washer for a dirty towl instead of waisting water). Apperantly she was making a video to show people who love to watch, how her soap cleans well. So, what will the washer do DUH..........this was a soap experiment! Im sure the negative comments writers have waisted plenty of water once before.

  • @egypt4000 Thanks. good point!

  • whats that noise?? its a racket

  • you sure used up a lot of water just to clean that dirty old piece of towel you were trying to save. should have put it in the washing machine and used a clean piece of towel.

  • Use it up wear it out make it do or do without!!! words to live by nancy......words to live by!! kat

  • love that saying........i think i need to make that a rule of my house!!!!!! i am going to do something with that saying and i will get back to you about what i did.....kat

  • Considering that there is a load of laundry going in the washer, isn't it a terrible waste of water to wash the rag by hand? Where is that great concern for conserving the environment?

  • I figure we should just stick the dishes in there with the clothes! That'd save on soap, water, time, energy, the works! And maybe even on having to put them in the cupboard instead of the trash!

  • hahahaa lmao "in the wilderness: mexico and jamaica"

  • I HATE WASHING DISHES!!!

  • Yes nancy could stick it in the washer, but what fun would that be to watch, plus she is doing things the natural way, and the conservative way.

  • your so precious Nancy. I love your attitude, and watching your videos, lifts my spirits

  • Thank you Meow Kitty! You lift mine!

  • OH MISS NANCY! here in our house it's "buy it to use it up, wear it out, give it away or throw it out'! I find it so interesting because my Mother is from Ireland and her GRANDMOTHER always said that! very similar..."we cast outs" hehehe religious guess in so many many ways ALIKE!!!! I LOVE YOU NANCY GOD BLESS..Violet M

  • Nancy, have you tried a bit of your shiny dishes soap grated in a load of laundry? I wonder how that'd work out?

    Dena

  • Just a random question: Does your dish soap pass the zap test?

It might not be super lye heavy, so it would still be "safe" to use. It might just have a superfat of 0%. Just wondering cause the term "lye heavy" scares me. . .lol. . . but that might be because I saw some pictures of lye damage.

But I'm thinking that it would be more like a 0% superfat since it doesn't hurt your hands, and it doesn't look like it even turns them red!

  • I was just wondering if the lye soap bothers the skin on your hands?

  • Mrs Nancy, You are such a good mother! The rule in my house is, "If you remove it from the kitchen, you are responsible for cleaning and puting it away" LOL! It works very well. Once the rule went into effect, I no longer had to collect dishes from other parts of the house. Hahahaha! This method works well with laundry also.

  • old clothing or sheets , towels and the like that get worn out. i put them in a bag and they get used as cleaning cloths. like for cleaning engine parts, and the like.

  • "...Use it up wear it out make it do or do without..." yes, indeed.....after being snowed in (3' of snow) for the last two months, we finally "got out" today...and the TOP thing on the list of things to get at the store, was dishsoap...we've been out for weeks! I will be ordering some of your "shiny dishes" for my home store soon....how many bars do i need, doing dishes once a day, for a year? thanks for your lovely videos, my friend.
