eventhough thats not an american chinook
thier nothing like them. its a mobile natural desater 50+ mph wind in a hover will cause tremmors and knock pictures off the wall with a flyby. i maintain and crew the bad girls. eventhough they do brake doest take much to get them going.

Only 8hrs maint. for 1 hr. flight?Wow they are much better than they were in my time.Seems to me it was double that 20+ years ago?It has been a long time,I may be off a bit.That is what I seem to recall.Something on the order of 16:1!
That was B & C models.The Ds were coming in while I was heading out!They seemed to be really nice birds though.Not nice enough for me to stay!

I logged 960 flight hours in the 47 as an FE. For every 1 hour of flight time, it requires 8 man hours on the ground maint.

you will most likely start out as a mechanic, but you need to make yourself visable to the crew guys. let them know you're interested...they are going to give you a lot of shit, but that's just how it is...

My favourite helicopter for sure. I was kind sad when the CF stopped using the Labrador (Canadian version of the Sea Knight, which is a bit smaller than a Chinook).
