Yes, they were tracking the plane inbound for the Pentagon. Unfortunately, another plane was mistakenly thought to be hijacked and fighter jets were going after that one. They broke persuit once they realised the error and were en route to the Pentagon. The strategy of mulitple aircraft, multiple targets, and transponders turned off created the confusion needed on the gound between different airports, airtraffic controllers, militiary and other defenses. Also, another thing that concerns me is that it was a SIMULATION. There is no pressure, and the situation is completely fabricated.
