Fantastic video! You make some very valid points, some of which I'd like to use as mottos for my Japanese classes at school if I have your permission. I noted down these: To be able to communicate is a gift. It allows you to learn about not only another language but another culture and the ways of life and the ways of thinking of another group of people. You open up your heart more. You open up doors that were otherwise closed. I hope your video motivates my students. :)
Great video! I'm working on Korean, and have already made friends I never would have before. Looking forward to studying more languages. Other learners, keep it up guys! Those starting, you won't regret it.
well made vid but learning a language for English speakers is n more than a hobby, it's not really necessary in the modern world. Do you think that Germans and Scandinavians learn Spanish/Greek for their holidays? No! They just use English. But when we do it we're lazy or arrogant.
I really enjoyed your speech. I learned Spanish when I was in Spain on my exchange program, and some many positive things come to my mind whenever I think of it. I learned Spanish and i'm pretty confident with it. It's so amazing that you can speak to another person in their own language, and you are so proud of yourself if you are actually good at it. If any one would like to talk, practice Spanish or whatever I would be glad to help. Greetings from freezing Poland ;D
@Nabuchodonozor89 Thanks a lot for watching. Yes, it's so magical to communicate with someone in their language. I'm so grateful for this gift. Let's chat in castellano sometime. Blessings ;)
@ThaTrillMagician Not exactly sure since we all have different language learning abilities. For me, I can start understanding a romance language in about 3/4 months. I can become conversant in 6 or so months... In a year+ of continued practice, I can pretty much say anything I want -- but perhaps not eloquently. This is all based upon me learning Castellano... now I'm learning Italian. So on average, I'd say that just about anyone can learn a language well enough in 6 mo of daily practice
Hahaha... we have the same ring... you must have the iPhone. I was looking for my phone and had to put your video on pause. Anyhow, you are so right and have posted a great video with great energy.
I know some Spanish as well but definitely need to learn more... it's a coming my way!
Hey ! Hahah... yeah that was my iPhone :) :) Thanks so much for sharing your amazing energy with me with your comment. Keep up that Spanish of yours, eh? So it's said " Poco a Poco " (Little by Little) :)
Growing up, my parents made me take french classes, and at the time i hated it Lol. Throughout high school i stopped taking the classes and now I'm 19 and i have forgotten most of the language : ( I wish i would have continued taking the classes but oh well i can start over! Thanks for the great video!
Hey hey... listen, you should REALLY start learning once again. Forget about the past. Believe it or not, your mind is now BETTER conditioned to learn French now.. so NOW you can start to build on top of that. You can do it. Really, start with the basics and work your way back up.. Within a few months, you can even be conversational. I'm not that smart, and within 6 months of practicing Spanish.. I was able to form my own sentences and begin to just get by. Little by little, my friend ;)
I know English (of course..) and I have been speaking Castellano (Argentine Spanish) for about 10 months -- I'm conversational. Next, I'd like to learn Italian :)
