  • Brilliant. You either liked the 80's music or you didn't. I certainly did...

  • absolute wank, they died after 1982, golden brown their last decent track

  • Where did all this good music gone? I WILL NEVER GET SICK OF THE 1980'S MUSIC. I REFUSE TO LISTEN TO THE SHIT OF TODAY!

  • I always loved the synth solo of this song, that here appears at 2:22

  • the stranglers were not ment for the 80's. In 1965 they would have been awesome!

  • were is the sound?

  • ZAJEBISTY KAWAŁEK POZDROWIENIA Z POLSKI

  • @vpgclassic There are none like the Stranglers! :) But you could try Ultravox, Killing joke, The Jam, The Damned, or even Hugh Cornwells solo work. All good!

  • @pixiescam Thanks!, I know, i didnt mean songs like this one, but songs that have that kind of tone, new wave, synth pop, progressive, etc. But check out those, maybe you like em. And ill check the ones u posted. ;)

  • i just wonder why this fantastic track was only a airplay radio hit in germany

  • I got the job pushing the knob (out of 500 applicants).

  • their best song!

  • They remind me my one year staying in Israel at the middle's 80th's, to know them more than twenty years later in my little country town in lower Normandy, was great...!!

  • @mharthinus I got to see them play in Tel Aviv during their Always the sun tour, They were great and it was a rest from the Moshav......

  • boo

  • Grown up listening to the Stranglers through my dad......and still listen to them now, have even seen them every time they've toured the UK with my dad over the last few years!!

These guy's are awesome and still rock it hard even Jet Black at his age!!!!

  • This is my favourite song.

  • when you have to create an artist to sell the music then you have a problem. These guys really did put the music industry to shame, they bucked the trend, they became very popular... and, unlike Cowells five minute arses, the Stranglers will be there long after!

  • @highschoolmusical841 Well, I meant there was one French band member hence one or two songs with a French influence. I know they Are mostly British.

  • JJB is French, oh and the Riot in Toulouse back in '77

  • "...someone must've told him if you work too hard, you could sweat"

    Love that line. Great lyrics.

  • A poor job of lip-synching, but a great song.

  • 68 people must be either nocturnal or vampires

  • Did they have a Chat with Roland Rat, I would to see get interviewed by Roland Rat

  • Most under-rated group form the UK, even though they were very successful, especially in the EU. Not sure about the USA though. There was no other base player or keyboards, vocalist with this harmonious combination.

They were also big in France of course becasue of their French Connection.

  • para sempre Stranglers...

  • I was a huge Stranglers fan starting from 1977. My father liked this song, so what was I supposed to do (I was a rebelling dude after all) ??? I kept on loving them....

  • .......except in Britain :(

  • I used to love the stranglers of 1977, but then I discovered this other side...amazing pop music...

  • THERE IS NOTHING BETTER THAN STRANGLERS.... cmon guys

  • superb!! how can anyone dislike this ? idiots

  • It's crazy this only made No 28 when it was released in the UK.

  • Its funny. When I was in my teens I used to hate this period of the Stranglers but now I'm older I appreciate it more.

  • The Roland Rat show eh? I'd forgotten all about that ha-ha, what a blast from the past that is, Great tune anyway.

  • 64 people got the job, pushing the knob!

  • @ConmanBenitez ehmm... just wait a second... I need to call him. he's alright, have a nice life :)

  • The Leader you see on this video are the real Leader from the band, but here hes is it a little more older and thats not the original clip.

  • That's a different band (1977), or at least one of the members is from the 60s Stranglers. Which one? Or how did they get t2o use the name, The Stranglers?

  • How old are these guys? I just saw them in a 1965 B&W video and they were great then. This vids 1987 so they look a lot younger here. And they had another spurt of fame during the punk thing with the SeX P i S T o L S. But what are their ages? They gotta be just younger than the Beatles. Why can't Paul do punk?

  • How is Roland Rat these days?

  • I love the song. A poor job of lip synching though.

  • rip off of ultravox and lou reed...lame,,,

  • Perfect song ( from Greece )

  • COOL

  • someone must have told them: if you work too hard, you can sweat.....

  • This song brings back so many memories!!!! Ah to be young again!

  • How many times have you woken up and prayed for the rain? How many times have you seen the papers apportion the blame? Who gets to say? Who gets to work and who gets to play? I was always told at school, everybody should get the same. How many times have you been told if you don't ask you don't get? How many times have you wasted your money? your Mother said you shouldnt bet. Who has the fun? Is it always a man with a gun? Someone must have told you if you work to hard you can sweat?
  • @zzxxmm10 why did you write that? .. you must be one boring bastard

  • There's always the sun

  • @eddierat100 NO !!!!

  • I just adore the instrumental/solo part in this song. A good example for those who want to crank in too much into music when often simple and pure has a stronger effect.

  • 92.7 WDRE

  • So beautiful.

  • I always thought this was a slight dig at greedy people in power saying, well there's always the sun, which is something bigger than you will ever be and you can't ever take it away.

  • Che albovial, desde cuando los chilecitos saben algo de musica?? Salvo La Ley, sencillamente no tienen historia musical. Este tema se pasaba en los '80 y '90 por la mejor radio de Bs. As., RADIO HORIZONTE 94.3.

  • I watched The Stranglers at T in the Park this year and tbh I'd never really heard of them before then. I was just waiting for The View to come on. But they fucking amazing! It was raining, then they played this and the sun came out! This sounds cheesey but I will always remember that.

  • I just CONNECT with this song and the beat! It is gentle - mellow and pleasant to listen to; the lyrics blend with the music PURFECTLY!

  • @ptf6rg311sqd23u I agree with you! I loved it from the moment I first heard it!!!
