Heh, I think about a gazillion hip-hop groups sampled funky drummer. :) But I think the track you mean is "Please Listen to My Demo" by EPMD. It samples Faze O's "Riding High".

  • @SeanVernell ...some days after...i tink was bukctown production:black moon? smiff and wessun?

  • I directed this video and it's great to find it here.

(Ruqshort)It was shot at St Lukes Road (all gone now)and round Bristol.

  • thanks cityrocker. luv the track and still play it...it´s definetily much more than just a bit of a timeless classic .

  • thanks for putting this up.

  • love the vide, but the vocalist totally can't sing.

can u imaginr a real soulful sing belting out the lyrics? would be much better

  • Amazing! I remeber this video so clear from 'The Chart Show' years ago. I taped it and lost it! But now it is found. Thanks mate. A total blast from the past!

  • smith & mighty are fantastic! they still rock the British music scene.

  • I remember first seeing this on German T.V. and though damn, they're using a sample of James Brown's "Funky Drummer" which is one of my favorite samples.

  • Hehe, that beat was popular back during the turn of the decade (89-90's). Also used by Sweet Seduction and Strawberry Flip.

  • Whoa. What an amazing find. This track was ahead of its time.
