Religious School massacre: Mercaz HaRav yeshiva, a religious school in Jerusalem, Israel. March 06, 2008, 9 Dead, 11 Wounded. The attacker with a fully automatic AK-47 was stopped by student, Yitzhak Dadon, who shot the attacker twice with his personal firearm.
Guns were more available YEARS AGO. I remember seeing guns in gun racks of vehicles sitting in a high school parking lot during hunting season. Laws are much more strict today. You didn't hear about school shootings several years ago. Why are they happening now? The answer has nothing to do with guns. What makes a person willing to kill.
You said exactly what I was going to say...the issue isn't the availability of guns, but the availability of people willing to do crimes with guns. We need to look past the physical act of buying a gun and look at how a seemingly normal and intelligent individual is capable of doing this sort of violence. Is society and the community to blame?? Probably...I'm not sure I can put the blame on one individual when this sort of thing is happening all over the country.
