I first became aware of the "Encyclopedia" segment on Mickey Mouse Club back in July 2000, when my own mother told that this was her favourite part of Mickey Mouse Club (along with singing the "Encyclopedia" segment to me as well).

However, one difference being from Canada; and, that is we pronounce the letter Z as "Zed", not "Zee".

I love this video and I use it in school to advertise the encyclopedia. The kids love it! BUT lately I cannot get it to load. Other videos load for me but this one doesn't. Any ideas about what the problem could be?

I've had that issue before. It could be that your computer takes a while to load videos of a certain length.

In my own opinion I feel as though the quality of what Walt Disney produced far exceeds anything being made today, I enjoy the Pixar animation and marvel at the quality. Maybe I'm biased because I grew up watching this. I would be willing to bet that alot of children never heard of Jiminy Cricket. And that is because The Disney Channel has completey changed course. I think that needs to change.

Thanks to Jiminy Cricket's song, the longest word I could spell by Grade 2 was "ENCYCLOPEDIA." I'm sure other kids benefitted in this manner. (The other big word I learned to spell early was "MISSISSIPPI," thanks to another song I heard on one of those old "follow the bouncing ball" sing-along cartoons on television.)
