i dont understand the whole push-pull concept. i know the power is coming from the back and the engine is pushing it. ok so why would u spend $1 million on an locomotive and run it backwards? why so u can replace the engine every year? i doubt GE designed their egines to run backwards at 120mph regularly. why would they. only New Jesersey transit thinks its a great idea to run their expensive egines backwards lol. no wonder they are ging broke.
@howardkevinm Turning trains requires a loop or wye. In urban zones, finding space for these is near impossible. Push/pull trains are the solution. Locomotives run just as well forward or backwards.
Congratulations on your 100th video. It was put together well and really had some neat stuff in it. That NE Regional at the end really took the show after all those slow trains. It was about time too because that's what you expect when you watch videos from this part of the NEC. Considering this was taken over the weekend, that Keystone you saw was westbound train 663. Two Keystones make stops at Princeton Junction daily, one in each direction.
After the NE Regional, there was a race. I had my camera away. It was a NE Regional beating an Acela. The Regional was on the local track because I heard the horn. The Acela came out of nowhere. That would have been a great shot!
Why the hell were the trains going SO FUCKING SLOW? I took a train northbound on Friday and we were zipping through stations like it was no one's business! Was it the track work?
Track work is over (for now?) and there was low level boarding at Princeton Junction. And the Keystone was making a stop at Princeton Junction. The Arrow III deadhead, I'm not sure why?
And alp 46 and alp 44 have a front had back for a reason hahhahahaha
