While it's a tad hard to be sure of everything due to the quality of the tape, Yugoslavia seem hard done by with some of those decisions. Point in case 4th fight 7.35 looks to me as if Yahara was well and truely scored on with jodan tsuki. And I wonder why at both wazari each, they gave the match to Yahara? Perhaps it was the rules of that time but these days I believe that result would be hiki wake (draw). Anyone know why?

Cant say but i think he won because the other guy got jogai...
However reality aspect i think yahara sensei would eat many of them in a real duel.
Tanaka sensei however is the true master of maai in this comeptition.
His fight is the most superior... clear concept.... Very kendo like.
Simple and effective. I dont think yahara sensei has been very good at mizu no kokoro any time.. he just launches at anyone. Different way of fighting i guess.
The japs are quite partial though
