But it was only recently discovered in the 19th century by an Eastern Orthodox Christian.The Eastern Orthodox Church contains the whole treasury of Spiritual and Physical blessings. I mean physical because our worship involves the use of our body, St Paul said, "Glorify God with your Spirit and in you Body, both of which belong to God" (1 Cor 6:20).

Jesus began his ministry building the church and read Mathews 16"You are Peter and upon this rock I will build my church...."The orthadox schism did not happen until 1054 so in actual argument you can say your religion or faith started from this schism in 1054. Others came along centuries after adding things that were never taught!

Even he could have been forgiven, if only he trusted in Jesus to redeem him. Judas' sin was no greater then Peter's. Also, Judas acted b/4 Pentacost. Besides we trust in the whole body of bishops, in union w/ the Pope. Many might go astray, the body of the whole will be faithful.

@Adonomos: Well, You'd do well to learn a bit about HOW that was defined historically. The whole was & is all those in union w/ the pope of Rome. Just do a study of the Nicene Council. It is an unfortunate but obvious fact that most of the Eastern Church & certainly most of the Greek fathers on the side of Arius. The East called far larger councils, w/ larger & more representative Eastern contingents. They all went w/ Arius. It was the Nicene Council which became "ecumenical."

Church you are assuming is THE Orthodox Church, but you'd do well to gain some insight as to what your Ortho. Church really stands for. I might recommend John Henry Newman's Developement of Christian Doctrine. Many of the early Church Eastern fathers aer quite clear on Papal supremacy. Ignatius of Antioch for instance.

They are all quite clear that St. Peter was supreme & that the Patriarch of Rome is his successor. As for Jesus pointing out St. Peter, just review Mat. 16:13-20. Compare it to Isaiah 22:15-25. The "keys" are a badge of office. Compare to Gen 41:42, where a similar chain of office is placed on Joseph. & the name change.
