hmmm, your "theory" is more like a "assumption" based on your personal beliefs. The Andromeda galaxy is 2.5 million light-years away, that means, when someone is looking at it from earth, you are actually seeing that galaxy as it was 2.5 million years ago. So I seriously doubt the earth is only 6000 years old.
lets assume God created the universe with a plan. he made a paradise garden with 2 naked humans and every organism in existence and one tree that was evil. because God created everything, his creation, a talking snake, tricked eve into committing sin which eventually caused man to fall from grace and die before forced to endure agonizing pain for all of eternity.
he planned for man to fall from grace.
he planned for people who have never heard of Christ to burn in hell for all of time.
I understand the conundrum, however your portrayal seems a bit simplistic. There are other possible ways of looking at it, but even if we can't find a satisfying interpretation, that does not mean that the events recorded in the bible are not historically accurate.
1) God had no choice, i.e. somehow creating the scenario you cite was the best of possibilities.
2) We now have the option of escaping the fire. After all Jesus is offering salvation, so that condemnation is not inevitable.
I'd like to hear your explanation for the talking snake bit too. But buy saying "God had no choice" would that not be saying your god is not omnipipitant?
As for your second point, why would you think there is a hell and why would you think Jesus is the only way not to go there? there have been in the past and are now many religions worshiping many, many gods.
IF God can create a universe he can make a talking snake.
God can't do anything against His nature, the bible says God is truth & that God can not lie, therefore He is not free to lie.
There are many gods & religions, however the devil is in the details, & the truth is likewise in the details. It comes down to the veracity of the accounts. Which account corresponds to actual history and so forth.
You have the ability to chose which liquid would make a car run better, gasoline or milk?
So according to your holy book your god is truth, & therefor cannot lie. And you believe the bible is true because it is the word of your god. That is a circular argument.
As for the "veracity of the accounts", no holy book I have ever read is wholly consistent with what is known about reality.
And regarding your milk vs. gasoline comment, I'm afraid I do not understand your meaning. Gasoline is better at running cars. This is a well established, independently verifiable fact.
I've brought this presentation out side of any circularity. That's the whole idea here, to point out where out side information can be used to verify the record of the bible.
We have talking snakes now, there called lawyers and politicians.
I see this as metaphoric language because Satan is described as having the characteristics of a serpent. Altho it could have been an actual serpent, we really don't know what snakes were like before the fall and we have animals that can make out words now in modern days. A possession of such as animal by Satan is not far fetched.
who gave god no choice? imean he is the supreme being right? you are just answering with a load of crap. and saying, "well, now theres a way to fix it" doesn't explain why god made it wrong in the first place.
The Bible says God cannot lie, for instance. Therefor He does not have the choice to lie.
Why do you think nuclear physics is so complex? Is it because it is the work of a very creative mind? Bible says only God can pay for sins, I'm just applying scientifically informed intuition to the creation scenario & It looks to me that anything that is not God must fall short, i.e. sin. The choices would be: don't create anything; or create something that would have to be saved. Rocket science?
I finally got through this entire series. My comments on the series as a whole would easily span a dozen comments. I don't want to spam you, so until I find a more convenient format in which to present you with my rebuttal, I'll just let you know that I, for one, was not convinced.
Well Thanks for at least giving me the time. Your comments would not be spam, as far as I'm concerned. You may not be convinced of the more speculative portions regarding the possible mechanisms of young earth creation, but I don't know how you could dismiss the fact that the bible foretold Jewish history.
I don't know enough to comment on Jewish history, unfortunately. However, the Bible did record a worldwide flood which never happened, so I take claims of its predictive abilities with a degree of skepticism.
Your assumption that the flood did not happen, I believe, is due to the extreme indoctrination of our education system. If you are free to examine alternative points of view I believe you will see that there are very good evidences for the world wide flood. e.g. the Grand Canyon, and global fossils can be explained by the flood.
As fun as this has been, I believe the time has come to end this. I think we can safely say that neither of us will ever convince the other. This discussion has grown tedious, and I'm finding myself coming too close to attacking your beliefs directly. I don't want to do that, and I don't want to see this get down to that level.
Thank you for your time. It's been thought-provoking.
"e.g. the Grand Canyon, and global fossils can be explained by the flood"
Please explain then why there are oxbows in the grand canyon? Include modern examples of floods causing them.
Explain why fossil shells on mountains are segregated by the radiometrically derived date of the rocks comprising the range. The shells are not deposited in a way that indicates any food at all.
Why did shells that couldn't live in brackish water thrive, but no animals managed to run up them before drowning?
that doesn't answer anything. Please explain the oxbows in the grand canyon in the context of a flood.
The shells on mountain tops being caused by a flood idea looses traction when you realize that the shells aren't equally distributed across mountain ranges and aren't at all from the same period in history.
I want to challenge you to address what choupick said about the meandering oxbow developement of the Grand Canyon. If the Canyon was a rapid drainage channel, there would be very little meandering and oxbow lakes would never have developed. The Grand Canyon does not support the flood myth.
OK I know what you mean now. There is no actual formations that are closed off "U" shapes. There are many twists and turns, including "U" formations, but I don't see how any of these formations could not have been formed by lots of rushing water. Rushing water will take the path of least resistance and therefore will erode accordingly.
Hi Turbo, thanks, BTW in addition to the idea of making a place for more people, it's possible that the size of the universe is necessary for any life at all, the parameters of creation are very exact, also you have to wonder if we wont be exploring the whole thing after the resurrection and restoration when Jesus returns.
Just got done watching the series, Good stuff. You talk about the kinda things I like to think about all the time, thats probably why I enjoy the videos so much. I never thought of the adam and eve thing like that, about the fact they they were supposed to live forever, So that may be the purpose of the universe being so large, I'v always wondered why god would create so much just to be wastefull, but thats a very plasible idea.
Btw, the doller store bling is a nice touch, ha ha.
Do not believe this deluded man. The poor bugger needs to get over this nonsense. I fear he will not.
No reason anyone else has to be so misled.
Good luck to him and you all.

choupick 3 years ago
Well for one thing it takes flood-like conditions to make any fossil. There have been many modern man made things that have been found fossilized.
seanmPWH 3 years ago
that doesn't answer anything. Please explain the oxbows in the grand canyon in the context of a flood.

BTW Since I'm talking about a flood causing the various situations, then I really don't expect to find every thing in much of a nice neat order.

First of all, to the best of my knowledge there are no Oxbow Lakes at Grand Canyon.
seanmPWH 3 years ago
I misspoke, not oxbow lakes, but oxbow/meandering structure. Just look at it on a map. It is hardly what is to be expected of a drainage canal.
