Though what you say is "logical" and makes good for entertainment; Brother I do not believe the scriptures would agree with this, it is through the foolishness of preaching that God saves. Also, Christ Crucified (the Cross) is where the power is at. Not saying we can't touch other subjects, that wouldn't be a wise statement, however they all are applicable and concerning the Cross of Christ, what else do we have, or even want? Isn't the Gospel (the Cross) what makes the sermon relevant?
If your sermon is Christ-centered, the gospel will be a relevant conclusion. If you are preaching opinions and topics, then it may be hard to find the cross. But if you're having a hard time finding a way to connect the gospel with your sermon, you shouldn't be preaching it.
