just put a flicker filter on in final cut pro and it will sort most of it out for you...

@StraylightUK Actually, I think the flickering and the colors give it a neat 80s VHS look.

@pixitha If you could film at 200 fps, that might make the flickering at 50 and 100 Hz (1 and 2x your line frequency) less objectionable.
