there must be more than version live in berlin because i have a dvd of this and the solo for comfortably numb is done by 2 diff guys neither of which are gilmour..ill maybe post it later or something.
@RMKmedia morisson kinda ruined that version i think, but with white and difonzo standing on top of the wall for the solos was just makin everyone wet their pants.
@edgc91 I don't think they are terrible. Live, not so good, but in studio they sounded pretty good. This is before autotone and other enhancement crap, so there really was no editing (well very little). Their voices arn't necessarily great, but very unique and very fitting to FLoyds style of music.
@weeryan2008 no. . . .it's just easy to crack a joke about a guy who talks about Money, Space, I hate the World, and i'm better than you. . . . .tsk tsk roger
In a Rolling Stone interview, Roger was said to be watching "newly restored footage" of the original Wall shows "which fans will no doubt have a chance to buy someday"
Roger is great in creating concepts for albums, and is certainly talented in writing lyrics, but in my opinion what tore the band apart is his dismal singing and lack of musical talent. David took his raw ideas for a song, polished it up, and made it better. After Sid bowed out, Roger felt that he was the band's new leader, but Gilmore proved he was the real musical talent. I think Rodger's jealously fucked up the band's future.
@crypticald Funny enough if you read the Pink Floyd biography you'll find out that Roger Waters left when his bread was buttered. It was him who fucked up the band.
@comacocktail38 exactly gilmour WAS the band. and richard wright but if u think about it every song since he joined in the 60s gilmour has sung wrote and played over half the music including the division bell he wrote the whole thing.
Lot's of feedback issues....David Gilmore may not be the fastest guitar player, may not be the most technical player....but goddamn, the man has soul!!!!
The problem is that all of Roger Waters sounds like crap and the guitar solo sounds great on the dvd, but on the album roger sounds better but the solo is shorter...
I saw this in Los Angeles at The LA Sports Arena.....truly amazing.....and then I saw Roger Waters' version last month with my son. AWESOME.....BOTH times.
The last part of the video's description couldn't have applied to me more. I'm new to Pink Floyd and I'm starting to see why this band is often considered to be one of the best rock bands of all time. Thanks for posting this video as well as the band's discography. I hope to get a CD copy of The Wall some time in the near future. I've listened to some songs from that album on YouTube and I loved them.
@PockyBebop I cant imagine the joy of being new to Pink Floyd, they and Roger Waters have made my life as great as it could have been for the past 35 years, im as excited today when i play them as I was when i was a kid and didnt know what was happening to my brain when they reached parts no one else can reach, I wish you a happy journey
@PockyBebop Good for you!!! I ermember first gettin into the Floyd. I didnt' know anything about them I just simply fell in love with the music. If you think listening to the Wall on a CD is great...I saw The Wall live and i must say seeing that 250 foot ide wall go up brick by brick as EXTRAORDINARY Pink Floyd music dripped over the whole arena was breathtaking!!! I wish you someday can experience something like that. Much good luck in your future musical discoveries my friend!!!
@TaldeGarde92;
You do know there's an entire team of audio technicians behind the scenes that are making sure everything goes right. Right?
13Psycho13 5 days ago
I can't understand the trick of Waters' voice delay... It doesn't catch his entire mic signal!
great solo, however.

This is the 1980 version, with Pink Floyd.
The Berlin version was 1990, which featured Snowy White and Rick DiFonzo on guitars and Van Morisson singing the Gilmour part.
