Sorry. Romania has an Armenia minister Varujan Vosganian:) There is one beautiful Armenian orthodox church in the middle of Bucharest. Unfortunately now the Armenian community has more or less 2000 members but unofficially the number rise to 10000 because of those with mixed blood.

Beautiful paintings. I've learn something today. I admit i have small knowledge about the ex soviet countries artists. We do have a small but very active Armenian community. Actually now our Minister of finances is an Armenian. :)

A soul that lifted many souls to altitudes of beauty mankind never reached before in the most terrible circumstances...
Born during Imperial Russian period, witnessed the Armenian Genocide and Armenia' first independence, outlived his contemporaries to see the best Soviet era to the early seventies. Given all these circumstances I have known no artist who has shown so much light color and OPTIMISM in his subjects than any other artist of his caliber.

Great Beauty, it was difficult to get "Hero of Socialist Labor" award, smiliar to "Hero of the Soviet Union". But he got it in 1965.
Also once he went to Echmiadzin and was helping armenians who ran away from Turkey.
