  • The "Casablanca" observation is interesting... I'm not sure I agree with it, pro that Bogey was reputed to be, but, coming from Hoffman, I find it interesting nonetheless...

  • @Jamman1214 It is an interesting observation for sure . Believable too , as they didnt even have an ending for it until the last minute not to mention rewrite after rewrite took place duribng filming with little or no time for rehearsal . His marriage to Mayo Methot was at an all time low too due to her jealousy of Ingrid Bergman , she is reputed to have stabbed him possibly around the same time as they were filming it , no wonder he he was in a dark place so to speak

  • bogart defeat brando on 1952 (african queen vs streetcar named desire) by the way.

  • @ivanpanggabean Bogart for The Treasure of The Sierra Madre would have been a fitting Oscar for Bogart imo . Brando was robbed for Streetcar regardless of the Waterfont win

  • I think I know why Hoffman admires Bogart -- they're both big mumblers! ;-)

  • @JixYt I don't think you know what actual mumbling is. Hoffman and Bogart just have a very low-key way of speaking.

  • @JixYt I think it's because they're such masculine guys but underneath there's a hidden sensitivity. You see this a lot with Hoffman but less with Bogart - you really have to be looking for it, but it's there.
