@heavymetal162 Yes, you can buy and make crystals with a profession to get your general blue, green, red, yellow, etc colors and later on in the game you can get them as drops from bosses and they will be all sorts of colors. Of these, so far in game I've only seen purple and cyan, but I hear there are white, black and few other colors, along with some special dual colored ones as well.

@OneViGOR I found orange crystals to be very easy to come by. They come standard in many green quality blasters you get at low levels, and you can easily extract them to put them into your lightsaber.

I hope they do something before you make your lightsaber, like you go to a crystal cave and you have to choose a crystal from hundreds of different crystals with different stats so your first lightsaber feels unique to you when you first make it.

Everyone will start off with a default lightsaber that is class-specific (Jedi Knights get blue, Consulars get green, Sith Warriors get red, and Inquisitors get either red or purple.

However, later in the game (or immediately if you pre-ordered) you will be able to customize your lightsaber with different crystals.

@IththeShaman I've actually seen that since I made the comment as well. Basically, the default colors are blue and green for Jedi, and red and purple for Sith. However, by going dark side, Jedi can get red and purple sabers, and Sith can get blue and green sabers by going light side.

@SkyExplosion Where was I wrong? I said all force classes can get any color, just that Blue and Green are defaults for Jedi, and Red and Purple for Sith.. Going Dark Side for Jedi and Going Light Side for Sith is how you obtain the other side's colors. (Dark Side Jedi can wield a Red Saber, and Light Side Sith can have a Blue Saber)

The successful construction of a Lightsaber proves your Force sensitivity and certain level of mastery over it.

The Padawan gather parts first, then proceeds to a planet where certain caves form crystals for the Lightsaber.

The specific focus of the energy beaming into the crystal and how the crystal reflects it, making the Lightsaber work requires mastery of the Force to determine.

One wrong move, you injure yourself by blowing the Diatium or whatever cell was used.

I thought lighsabers were tested at a safe distance, in case the crystal was incorrectly-aligned and it exploded.

@Robscrob1 If you're a hardcore Star Wars fan there will probably be some small details that will bother you. Bioware is trying to remain faithful to the Star Wars lore but at the same time they're trying to bring us a great game experience. In Star Wars lore making a lightsaber takes a long time but obviously Bioware can't do that. Do you see what I mean? They have to be practical.

@redfirehands Oh yes, did you know that the lightsaber you just saw in there will be useless within 5 levels? Yeah, "There's no substitute for the weapon that you create yourself" my ass. It will be obsolete compared to the statsaber you loot from some random dude you kill later on.

There is no way to change your lightsaber except for a few stats and the color crystal. The color crystal is but a consumable stat modification however, so you won't choose the color yourself.

I mean that it functions like a stat increase that can't be reused after you put it in. If you replace it, it is gone.

Yeah, I'm kind of bothered by that too, but not nearly as much as the blades. The blades just doesn't look right, it's more a glowstick with a colored outer layer than a blade of pure colorized energy.

The hilts all have base stats as well, so you will get a better one just like any other weapon in any other MMO... Sadly.

I don't agree on that they can't get around it. There are several ways to make it fit the lore through a complex crafting system.

It's both. Anything that goes into the lightsaber works like a gem or w/e in WoW. It's just a stat increase, aside from the color crystal that also has a color effect. You also loot complete hilts. Hilts have base stats, so at one point or another you will need a whole new one.

Plus there willl be dufferent graphics settings...unless your computer is pre-21th century or if you've got some laptop-piece of junk with 0,5mb ram, im confident that your PC will handle it :)

Can't wait for this game. My only issues is that Bioware decided to give the game a spandex fetish. LOL. I mean PC's and NPC's alike all are wearing spandex pants.
