that's the Victoria Hall in Geneva! With the old organ! It was beautifull. Now it's a new one because there was a fire that destroyed that Hall in 1984!
@Ledtoogesabpistol70s Movement 1 in itself is about 17 min of full playing time...and yes there are 3 Movements, almost all classical music will have more than one Movement
"Although the premiere was a resounding success, George Whitefield Chadwick, who was in the audience, recalled in a memoir years later: "They had not rehearsed much and the trombones got in wrong in the ‘tutti’ in the middle of the first movement, whereupon Bülow sang out in a perfectly audible voice, The brass may go to hell".
There is no such thing as the Greatest pianist ever. All of them bring different qualities to the music It is Impossible to put one up against another they're all so unique.
not necessarily. different strokes for different folks. not everyone is going to have the same opinion or taste for everything. that's what makes music so great and diverse.
@hotheadedconservativ That statement is not true. Some pianists are simply better than others. You might think that there are a small group of top level pianists, but not all belong in that category.
I used to feel that way about her playing, and some masterworks, she can get a bit into showing off technique, but for other things, she has also melted me with how beautifuly she canmake the piano sing.

Martha Argerich's interpretation of this piano concerto is by far my favorite - I also have to say that I love the principal oboist's glasses!!!!

Hats Off!
I just grokked a German joke.
And a German joke is no laughing matter.

actually you can, any oriental pianist you hear pisses you off because they are concerned more with technich, too flat and unemotional.

As always, Argerich is more concerned with showing off her technique than anything else, including making music.

What a stupid comment! She is the best pianist ever and also a most beautiful and charming woman.

Best pianist ever? Listen to Hoffman, Rachmaninoff, Lhevine, Richter (also Hamelin)
