When I first saw this, it was on a cable tv show that showed European videos. Very avant garde for 1983. The show repeated on Sundays whereupon I grabbed my tape recorder and taped it from the tv. I still have the cassette. Thanks for posting. We were all so pretty then!
U can´t touch this 28 years later with videos. The artistic video, lighting on 1980´s budget. When will we return to quality music, art¨? Great track I try spin when I can.
Perhaps time didn't slip away, and is exactly where it's always been. Could be that we're the ones who have moved on and can't find our way back (because the stupid music from today is drowning out the wonderful songs).
Just a nudge more production investment and this could totally have been a second Fade to Grey... it's still a really cool track, but i what happened to visage after their debut album? Did someone leave the band or did they simply have less time to make the second album as spectacular as the first one?
Fantastic piece of music! I loved this tune when it was in the charts back in the very early eighties. You can tell that the guys from Ultravox are involved with this music. Awesome. I wish that the bands of today would come out with some good stuff like this.
Can't believe this is 1982 - only seems like yesterday. Had the track on a New Romantics compilation cassette that I played to death on my mono radio/cassette player. Happier, innocent days :-)
Was the NEW ROMANTIC a little bit like elegant DARK ELECTRO WAVE????Anyway was very full of fascinating songs and images, people and sparkly atmospheres.
underated tune here boys and girls. superb example of 80s music

Gorgeous track. Even though the synth tremolo's and analog steppers do most of the work, the layering is genius. Well made piece of music.
offthelinegt 2 years ago 8
Agreed. Billy Currie and Dave Formula doing most of the synth work? Dave was know for his layering. Great track.

Great to see the music from 30 years ago that I grew up with. This New Romantic music was pretty progressive at that time.

I love this song and Look what They've done.... The Anvil is just as great if not greater than the debut album...
in my opinion.
I haven't heard Beat Boy, but I'm willing to give it a try regardless of the bad reviews.

this does border on Darkwave in my opinion but very obviously is New Romantic, my fav subgenre of New Wave.

The New Romantics invented much of what is now called electro, synthpop, darkwave, and goth.

Great song, i just love Visage.
First 2 albums are definitely a statament of New Romantic music, but the third and last album ws disappointing.

Thank you for referring to it in the proper context. Lots of people just lump this shit in with goth or new wave. Jeez...
