  • 25 people must be deaf

  • epically lovely tune man! quadriple thumbs up from germany=)

  • ewan dobson is not better than this guy just because you have speed and technique doesnt make you an awesome guitarist a bit of simplicity, good sounds and emotion makes an excellent guitartist... that describes gareth pearson

  • @cpack504 Haha well, Gareth's music isn't all that slow...

  • What kind of thumb and fingerpicks do you use?

  • soooooo inspiring guitarist, very nice, greetings from greece

    mel

  • @MrCooliotom That's a bold conclusion to jump to... I mean he's not Ewan Dobson or anything, ya know?

  • so clean

  • gp is amazing! seeing him next week in holland! yes!

  • This is wonderful ^^ I really do love this kind of music I am learning it right now, in hopes to make it sound at least close to this XD I applaud all those dedicated to this kind of artwork.. and congratz Gareth, hold onto that musical passion :P

  • A lot of dedication ,hard work, and creative fingerings are involved in this style of interpretation-excellent job!!!! Lots of feeling in the mix as well!! Thanks for posting!!!

  • not bad

  • I see Gareth has finally completed the beard that is required to enter Andy Mckee's bedroom. Well done Gareth, well done.

  • This song makes me smile :)

  • This isn't DEP lol

  • believe me i'm not a hater i think mr.gareth is an awsome player awsome. just in this case to use the word "ORIGINAL" which is a strong word, i don't know. The rift from this song i know is used in an old song-------------- John Fred & his Playboys-Judy In Disguise---- now the rest of this song i'm not sure of and might be very well original. it's only the rift i speak of...forgive me if i seem picky i don't mean to be. i just respect the old songs. as i'm sire mr.gareth does also..

  • or atleast the rift comes from John Fred & his Playboys-Judy In Disguise

  • i'm not a hater believe me. think mr.gareth is an awsome player "awsome" but i got to say for this one "ORIGINAL" is quite a strong word. so all i can say is ---------John Fred & his Playboys-Judy In Disguise ??????

  • If you arent somehow feeling better by the end of this song, well there might just be something wrong with you :)

  • I can't help myself smile every time I hear this composition!!! He really knows his music.

  • its awesome how he can get so much atmosphere with standard tuning

  • @Paulcanplayguitar Tuning has nothing to do with it.

  • @icemanisdangerous Actually it does.

  • @TheGamerboy860 Nope.

  • He looks much better with face hair.

  • 24 only hear chinese people scream

  • @Lassebb ...that's so racist lol

  • Fucking Epic.

  • It's Ian from Smosh.

  • I'm naked? I just don't understand it. The song ended and BAM! I'm naked!

  • @azahnd82 VERY, original. Seriously, dude, where did you get that from?

    /sarcasm.

  • I'd like to count myself in.

  • you are a fabulous guitarist! thanks for sharing:) its such an amazing piece:)

  • Did he slap the guitar at the end?

  • @fatfatat444 his guitar is his bitch and sometimes you just gotta discipline a hoe.

  • @zoomzoomj88 like a penis?

  • who is andy mckee???

  • mike shinoda???!?!?

  • The composition was amazing. But I nearly had to stop listening because the sliding was like nails on a chalkboard.

  • This tune really grows on you, I can't stop listening to this.... Great stuff!

  • strangely, i think im the only one who noticed that someone was adjusting the camera during the video at 0:12 to get a better view of his guitar. such a great song. especially that melody in the middle. I wish he would repeat that phrase again its so catchy!

  • what guitar is that?

  • @radiobulldog its a maton not sure of model number but its an australian made brand of guitar

  • and i be your apprentice?

  • its awesome to see so many opinions on techniques and stuff like anchoring etc, fact remains that every guitarist has thier own way of doing things and nothing is really right or wrong. i recently cut the tendon in my right pnky finger, hopefully with some phystherapy it will get more flexible but in the meantime its interesting to have to alter my technique a little bit, i cant really anchor that finger anymore as i used to

  • There is only one thing i dont like about your playing, too much sliding

  • Dillinger song.

  • @itscurbe no

  • @TristanKA262 well.... completely different song, same name

  • who could possibly dislike this?

  • @bexiebushguitar only a moron would dislike and shy away from talent like this. Sounds great!

  • @THEGUITARonFIRE standard

  • @THEGUITARonFIRE

i dont think he realy meses around with all that much different tunings, he mainly sticks to standard so this mite be the case hear with this song aswell

  • a bit too much in the low mid, and a thin top end, but the guitar sounds good

  • I love you.

  • Wow. This is a great song.

  • i love that this record label exists

  • Great song man I like it a lot!

  • thinks it will make my fingers able* etc. Like you say I feel it sort of restricts fingermovement and/or makes many techniques harder to do. This is probably different from person to person, if they feel they benefit from anchoring their pinky or not. I'm guessing Tommy, Gareth and others who use it feel they do. There music certainly sounds great with and/or without it! Hope guestimation is relevant enough. Love this melodic tune btw Gareth! My favorite along with BoD so far. Must buy CD!

  • Very cool, faved !!

  • i want the tabs to this D:

  • Andy Mckee took a dump and you came out.....

  • @CustomPCServices

Is that a good comment or a bad coment?...

  • @CustomPCServices

Andy McKee is great, sure enough. Thank God there is others besides him. Andy McKee is good, but he's not Angus, Clapton, or Gareth Pearson.

  • i like dis....its good...:-I

  • Missleading song title

  • @selectscreen3 In what way? The name of a song doesnt have to have any relation to its sound.

  • @ShatOnATurtle10 I think he's disappointed that he doesn't hear any whispering in Chinese, arguably understandable enough! Although I think the fine tune makes up for it pretty well.

  • Does anyone know why Gareth and some other guitarists anchor their pinky to the body? It seems to restrict the range of motion of the ring finger somewhat..

  • Comment removed

  • @GarretsShadow Hmm, I see "having it rest" and "anchoring" as the same thing. He does move it to do thumb slaps and nail attacks but that still doesn't solve the problem that it restricts the range of motion in the ring finger while it's down.

  • @jkshoujk To only steady the hand.

  • @jkshoujk It increases control of the whole hand which is more desirable than a little more range of motion in the ring finger. Seems to be playing just fine to me.

  • @jkshoujk (All the following is talk about the right hand, for any who may not know, if any) The muscles in my hand sometimes make me do it instinctively, as a reflex of sorts, to gain stability of my hand and fingers' position, make it move less. My body makes me do this 'cause "it thinks" it will let my fingers able to more accurately hit the strings. I highly suspect Gareth and these other guitarist do it for the same reason. Instinctively or on purpose. However!

  • youtube*com/watch?v=TGtmllroocc&feature=related < auf nem beat von ihm gerappt!

  • I LIKE THIS

  • beard looks great duno bout the hair

  • Mad At God, for not letting my fingers do what his does. Some write poetry with their hands others write their words in music all these Candyrat artists have written thier words into the best musi out here, truly from a different world, Love them all.......

  • I have some of the world's supreme guitarists in my 'favourites' ... Gareth is right up there ...no question.

  • Went to see him on thursday night. Such an amazing show

Hardly recognised him with the beard and his hair was tied upin a small little pony tail

None the less he put on an amazing show, this guy has so much skill.

GOt him to sign my ticket and all (Y)

  • He is insanely talented. So young, with a wonderful career ahead.

  • this guy is one of my biggest inspirations for playing the guitar. he's just perfect. in all the videos that I've seen, he hasn't missed a single note. I hope to play like him someday.

  • Andy Mckee is an awesome guitar player, but he is not the only one.

Here it is the prove ;D

  • awesome

    greetings from colombia

  • Andys beard would destroy that beard

  • I'm not really getting the "Chinese" bit of the title...

  • @IamtheGrynch because the song has whispers of Chinese?

  • @IamtheGrynch chinese whispers is a game where you whisper something to the next person in line and it invariably changes by the time it gets to the last person, im assuming its referring to the song adapting as it goes along

  • @rmartin232 Nice perspective, bit of insight!

  • sweet one at 2:14

  • Is this in standard tuning? To be fair I haven't tried for anywhere near long enough but I haven't been able to work it out yet! It is amazing!!!

  • Where can I get a tab for this?

  • @flyingaces93 buy it on the homepage;-)

  • I would love to learn this. Someone needs to put a tab up

  • What I love is that on the outside, is it sounds amazing, but to write something like this requires a great understanding and knowledge of how music works. Amazing composition.

  • @sixstringsuperhero ultimate guitar website ;)

  • @Bullet1852 LIES. (or link please ;) )

  • I want to marry this man.

  • 1:56 is just pure sweeeeeeeeeeeet...

  • I just want to point out, to those who didn't know. He was always growing a beard. He was simply fighting it near daily, struggling in a constant war to cut it down. He simply came to an arrangement through peace talks which have been in place long enough for the beard to grow prosperous. I see no problem in this. It shows the benevolence of Gareth Pearson.

Great song by the way. I like seeing people with extreme talent, playing what they feel.
