  • SOMEONE SHOULD MOVE THAT HAMMER

  • balancing wont ever be perfect, engine vibration depends by RPMs

  • That's a great idea...

Plus you've got a real knee mill you can use when not balancing cranks instead of a dedicated crank balancer that has only one use.

  • Phone of manufacturer is (575) 682-5564.

  • The balancer can be seen at crankbalancer dot kom. The software is available for download by calling Turner Technology. These balancers are made in the USA, and have an excellent reputation for accuracy and reliability.

  • i Bought a Eagle Rotaing asemblie 355 sbc...Do i HAVE to do this...edelbrock performer rpm Top end 10.2:1 Comp How mutch HP do you think im gunna be making...Its going in my 78 C10 2wd

  • @Codythecartaker

It will be necessary to balance your rotating assembly if you want the engine to be smooth and reliable. The only exception would be if you purchased the assembly pre-balanced, and even then it should be checked by a local machine shop.

  • waaa..thats was great machine

  • Did you build the fixture for holding and rotating the crankshaft? Where are the sensors located and does the software tell exactly where the heavy spot is along the longitudinal axis? I'm guessing that you will drill the shaft while holding it in the same fixture and mounted on the knee mill table. Going on that assumption, indexing the crankshaft will probably be done with the same software.

  • @SpeedOfDark186Kmps

i am quite intrigued as well... what about compensating for the weight of the pistons, rings, and rods?

interested in exactly how i could try this myself.

  • that is really cool.Did you build your own template or did you have to buy one.

  • What software did you use on your laptop ?

  • mr. in racing reducing crankshaft can add more horse power to your engine??? if important can u help me what kilo can i reduce my crankshaft? tnx hope u will reply

  • i cant imagine trying to balance a crank on that flimsy little rig.

  • and just for the audience can you tell what the benefits to doing such a thing would be ? and how it would affect the bearings ?

  • Smoother RPMs, less ware on the bearings, quieter engine operation.

  • when it's not balance, so what its must do to make it balance.

  • The computer tells you where the heavy spot is, and how much to drill to bring the crank into balance.

  • @Danoerivaldi WHEN CRANKSHAFT IS NOT BALANCED ONCE IS INSTALLED THE ENGINE VIBRATES BERY BAD

  • How much does one of these rigs cost?

  • Around $8000. Go to crankbalancer dot Kom.

  • he has the same lap top as me =P

  • how much does a balancing typically cost?

  • Around $200.

  • So thats what it looks like, cos i had mine balanced b4 aswell.

  • Oooh, it looks kinda bisarre when it spins like that! Makes you wonder when it's gonna start flying big chunks of steel around. =D

  • yeah. imagine what it'd look like inside the engine with oil spraying around.
