My family has raised many dobermans and they are extremely loyal dogs. Aside from metal illness or abuse they are not likely to attack their owners. In fact they can be very annoying because they often want to stay in physical contact with their human. A 75 pound lap dog can be a bit much. The breed came into being for the purpose of protecting a tax collector (where they got the name Doberman) in the 1860s. So please don't make blanket statements about a breed.

pssshhhhh!! rotties are cool, but never compare it to doberman pinscher. way better family dog than a rott. i own eight dobermans and all the adults which are four of them. there also bigger than 30,inches tall. so rotties arent all ways bigger than a doberman. doberman all the way.

I don't say that a doberman isn't a good familydog, but a Rottweiler is the most trustfull dog a family could have. @TheChancho13 when he says bigger he mean that the doberman is about 25-30 inches high and weing about 100 pounds and having a head as big ass a ragby ball but the rotty is 24-28 inches high weing about 180 pounds and having a head as big as a basketball.The bite force of the doby is about 100-180 pounds the rottys bite force is about 300-480 pounds so there is no way a dobi can stand against a rotty.
