In my opinion Christian Coulson and Frank Dillane has their advantages and disadvantages when playing Tom Riddle: Christian is good because he has the perfect height - Frank Dillane has a more sinister voice, the way he walks is like how Ralph Fiennes walks when he plays Voldemort, and the way looks at slughorn, so I personally think Frank is better, he would be perfect if he was taller but that doesn't matter when he can truly get into the skin of the character.

@Karnezar Yeah, that's true...He made the diary, Hufflepuff's cup, Ravenclaw's diadem, Slytherin's Ring, and the locket Horcruxes., which were only 5. He accidentally made Harry a horcrux without knowing it. So he still thought he had only 5 horcruxes when he actually had 6. In Harry's dream in the summer before the Goblet of Fire, he heard Voldemort had killed a lady and made Nagini the 7th horcrux, when voldemort thought he had only 6.

I think the new Tom tries to hard to act evil, Christian can give of a cool and charismatic impression that I think the other can't without looking evil. The earlier scene of Tom in COS shows how he could act normal and not suspicious, the new one's a bit obvious to me. I'd love to see Christian do the new scenes, or at least they could have left some more of the books scenes in, Christian could have been the older Riddle. I wish! :)

i read the books in swedish for 4 yrs ago and in the swedish translation tom riddles name is tom mervolo gus dolder and when u "mix" them u get "ego sum lord voldemort" then (in the swedish version) tom says that ego sum means I am

i think it fit more that lord voldemort would choose the latin raher than english when he made his name!

It's not like Salazar Slytherin can just decide what his heir's blood status will be - he's dead. It all has to do with genetics, like if one parent has brown eyes, chances are the kid could have brown eyes as well. Same thing with the 'heir' position: as long as one parent is a witch/wizard (In Tom's case, a witch) and they are also a descendant of Salazar Slytherin, then their offspring has a chance to be the heir, regardless of who the other parent is.

He probably did want his followers to be pure blooded, but to be honest, he would probably take whoever he could get - he just wouldn't treat them the same. His idol was Salazar Slytherin, and since Salazar Slytherin's heir was only half-blooded, he figured he could probably have a few half-blooded followers as well.
