  • My heart goes out to you. My son, Gage, will be going tomorrow to have his decannulation after having his trach for 10+ years. I am so sorry for your loss.

  • I can't help but wonder if his life would have been prolonged if the trach wasn't taken out. Did they take it out too soon?

  • @becausethenight1 Not exactly. Everything pointed to Tommy being ready, however, he got bronchopneumonia a few days later and the trach was put back in. Trach or no trach, he would have died. Thanks for the concern. I know with every fiber of my being that everything was done right for my son.

  • Wish you all the best and sorry for your loss.

  • So sorry for your loss. Tommy was a beautiful little boy!!! He is an angel now =)

  • May his soul rest in peace...

  • I am so sorry. God rest his soul. Im sure hes at peace and in a better place.

  • how is tommy doing after the trach was taken out ?

  • Tommy had many other issues besides the trach including lung damage and congenital heart defects. Sadly, Tommy passed away unexpectedly on August 20, 2008, just 9 days after his decannulation.

  • @sectorsgirl My son also has chd and had a

cdh too.... we went through the same thing....

  • What a precious little boy! I hope that all goes well little Tommy. God bless! Thanks to my friend Peter for sharing this with me. Here's 5 stars for cuteness!

    Peace!!
