it doesn't matter what nationality you are, short track is always the same, and short track skaters are too. the referees will judge how they do, too late to change results.

Had Hamelin fallen with Sung, it would have been a race between the both of them to get their skate across the line first :)
Sorry I was wrong. Apollo did not say anything on Jay Leno it was Jay Leno himself. He said that it must be harder to be disqualified when the judge is " in the corner eating bacon with a maple leaf t-shirt" But Apollo had said before that the judge was biased. Honestly, it really didn't seem like Ohno pushed down that Canadian skater, but because his hand was out at the time when the skater fell, it's assumed that he knocked him down, therefore, disqualified.

At first, I did think he pushed him, but after watching the slow-mo honestly over 100 times, I think it was the Canadian's own mistake for falling and from that, everyone bumped everyone in order to stay on their feet.
Apolo has so much talent and is an amazing athlete and i've lost a lot of respect for Canada from these games overall. Still love Ohno and am wishfully hoping he'll return one last time!!!

If you look at who pushed who. All you can see is the American pushing the Canadian, the Canadian pushing the South Korean and, the Korean grabbing the Canadian's skate.
I never said the other medals didn't matter. I said you measure the medal count by the VALUE which means ours are worth more in total because Gold is worth more then silver or bronze (the metal I mean) Of course we Canadians are proud of all of our medals. What I meant was we are at the top of the podium because we had more Gold then anyone else. btw.....I guess every medal we won was because the real winner was dq'd....not sure how they do that in a race where you can clearly see who wins:)

He has jumped starts and impeded other skaters but rarely gets caught at it. This time his luck simply ran out.......

I don't know much about the sport, but in the slow-mo replay you can see Ohno put his whole hand on that canadian guy. It's illegal to touch someone else in the sport, so that got him DSQed. Pretty simple.

He should be ashamed, his disgraceful response to this event (which was entirely his fault) completely voids all his other accomplishments.

Honestly, it really didn't seem like Ohno pushed down that Canadian skater, but because his hand was out at the time when the skater fell, it's assumed that he knocked him down, therefore, disqualified.
Although it was unfortunate being disqualified, Ohno was still a good sport about it and just accepted the loss. I don't know, but that doesn't seem like being an "asshole" to me.

At first, I did think he pushed him, but after watching the slow-mo honestly over 100 times, I think it was the Canadian's own mistake for falling and from that, everyone bumped everyone in order to stay on their feet.
Apolo has so much talent and is an amazing athlete and i've lost a lot of respect for Canada from these games overall. Still love Ohno and am wishfully hoping he'll return one last time!!!

I never said the other medals didn't matter. I said you measure the medal count by the VALUE which means ours are worth more in total because Gold is worth more then silver or bronze (the metal I mean) Of course we Canadians are proud of all of our medals. What I meant was we are at the top of the podium because we had more Gold then anyone else. btw.....I guess every medal we won was because the real winner was dq'd....not sure how they do that in a race where you can clearly see who wins:)

They showed that race from various angles and the Canadian guy never touched the other skater period! If you watch it from the reverse angle you can clearly see that he did not touch him. Ohno has already apologized for his comments about the Canadian referee being biased. I think he has also watched the replays and realized that he obviously deserved the DQ. He has jumped starts and impeded other skaters but rarely gets caught at it. This time his luck simply ran out.......

Oh well, the US is a summer games country. It is appropriate that the snowbirds north of the border does well in the winter Olympics. For sure that have huge amounts of frozen terrain with witch to practice on all year around. Building snowmen in August up there is just par for the course.

The sole judge is a Canadian????? Why is this? If Apolo got disqualified for contact then if this Canadian judge was fair, the Canadian who won the gold should have been disqualified as well. The guy he contacted at the end went down after contact with the Canadian. One judge, a Canadian, was responsible for ALL the decisions of all the speed skating events. HMMMMM, suspecious at best.

Just because you don't see an obvious push doesn't mean he didn't apply pressure to his hip. Tremblay was already leaning over inches from the ice trying to complete the last turn and the hand Ohno decided to place on his hip pushed him over, plain and simple. It doesn't matter if he "barely" touched him. Little touch or big touch, the fact is, he touched him and it sent him flying.

I don't know much about the sport, but in the slow-mo replay you can see Ohno put his whole hand on that canadian guy. It's illegal to touch someone else in the sport, so that got him DSQed. Pretty simple.

So true, it is called cheating when you do it on purpose. When I saw that race I was shocked he did something so shady and it was obviously deliberate. Then he had the nerve to celebrate winning silver like he actually earned it and with no guilt whatsoever. Even the look on his dad's face when Ohno crossed the finish line said it all, he knew his son f*ed up. I cheered when he was disqualified.
