Jesus @AcousticLauson, full marks for a timely comeback. 2 things. 1) as @evertonsix rightly points out, it was a joke and 2) everyone has an opinion and often it's different to other people's opinions, that's what makes life interesting. I actually quite like Ride and although I was messing comparing them to Olly, they're certainly no Alexandra Burke, she rocks and has attitude, holla! Besides, chill, Ride will get back together in sorts and you'll then see that they're not as 'awesome' as you
davidkpollard re the olly murrs ref - brilliant! that's the funniest comment i've seen on youtube for ages. if it was a joke it was excellent, if you were being serious then its even funnier! either way, thanks lad it's made me laugh!
@davidkpollard then go away, you honestly think people want to read such bullshit when they watch videos of there favourite bands and such, you types of folks need to be weeded out.
As the inevitable nineties comeback takes its hold of the mainstream there will hopefully be a marked increase in the reunion of some of the shining lights from that time. Satisfy those of us chasing forty and rip off those that missed the boat I say. I am sure Blur and the Roses won't be far behind as they all know which side the cake they sit on now. Halcyon days again. Laughing.
I was never a HUGE Ride fan, thought they had a couple of great tunes out but not loads, this is excellent though and making me think again lol, never would have thought they could be so good accoustic, top marks lads.
noel dosent reject any songs , ye he has the final say on what goes on the album , but if the songs were good enuf theyd make it on the album simple as that, and andy bell is a brilliant bass player, noel said himself however good u think he is at guitar hes twice the player on bass
I just don't get it, I really thought Oasis were going to up thier game when Andy Bell joined, he's a great songwriter, and an amazing guitarist, but he just seems to be stuck in the background on bass, Noel always wanted to be The Beatles, has he not realised alot of the Beatles success was due to them having three great songwriters in the band? If you're listening Noel, let Andy do more, and you'll start to genuinley get onto Beatle territory, making original and innovative music!
@powerslide13 One can only guess you had not been conceived by 1991 to realise these blokes were so ahead of their time only now, an entire lifetime later, the likes of you can begin to grasp what it was all about.
That's no excuse for talking rubbish about music. Either do your homework or go back to listening to Paramore or the Jonas Brothers or whatever it is that babies listen to these days.
No, but it's an explaination why I wasn't "conceived by 1991". I expressed my opinion regarding the matter, nothing else. Homework? Have the guys made any good records the last couple of years that I don't know of? You don't even have a idea about what kind of music that I listen to. And yes, I'd rather be a baby than a fat ugly forty something manchild who can't play guitar for shit and covering Temptation while obviously, with your looks, you've never even pulled a woman before.
@powerslide13 That's no excuse for talking rubbish about music. Either do your homework or go back to listening to Paramore or the Jonas Brothers or whatever it is that babies listen to these days.
By todays standard? Bonnie 'Prince' Billy, Grandaddy, Sun Kil Moon, Hirotoh Morikawa, Flaming Lips, Antony & the Johnsons and Prefab Sprouts new album (not really new but you know what I mean). Some of Scarlet Johanssons stuff are floating my boat too.
@chillidogdupree Yeah I know, but I think they deserve a spot since they're still around and making awesome music. Do that indeed, most of them are available on spotify.
you call those bands innovative? prefab sprout were a great band, but hardly ever innovative. being innovative is doing something new, that has never been done before and inspiring others. innovative is ride, mbv, sonic youth, the mondays, velvet undeground, stooges. sorry bloke, but innovative music died out around the time you were born @powerslide13
@talktal@talktal That's cool. Thanks for the update. Here you go, the quissential snobish dusty old indie fart. They all have the same list of typical innovative bands that changed their lives as teenagers. If you define innovative by that you should have dropped House of Love, they basically inspired all of the early 90's creation bands. But hey, you're the guy who had to check out my birthyear, since me being younger than you automatically makes your opinion more valid than mine. Fuck off.
there's nothing i would love to see more than a ride reunion but andy bell said it would'nt live up to expectations,i think it would.i agree with psychedelicgiraffe.i saw ride a few times and they were awesome everytime.

I was looking for andy bell of erasure..What the hell is this crap? Sounds like every other coffee house band..you know, the one in the corner that every one talks over.

Innovative or not. It's utter mindless drivel. Drone, monotone and dull. Doesn't hold a candle to Olly Murrs.

Hilarious, Bell looks utterly bored and taking the Oasis job would have been a no- brainer.

And yes, I know he's written the occasional Oasis song, (most recently The Nature of Reality) but not nearly enough.
