"I won't be saying the specifics of this, but Live and Learn plays when Sonic's winning the boss battle, All Hail Shadow (Crush40 version) plays when Shadow's winning, and the song you hear plays in the neutral ground. Again, this is hard to understand without knowing the specifics of the boss fight, but it's how the music works."
