@quorkquork If I had a more powerful PC, I would have rendered it in HD but with my current junk it would take a couple of weeks of rendering time. :\
Ok, I've been playing with Apop since the very early days. I've got in excess of 70,000 flames rendered out and stored on hard drives. And I have never come close to anything like this, using the 3D hack and otherwise. When it pulls into a sphere, you just dropped my jaw. How the hell did you do this? Was there a script that made such a recursive form? Honestly, this is just.. yeah, freaking cool.
@hilltopdesign The Spherical part is easy enough to explain: Enable the final transform button in the editor (FX) and use the Curl3D variation (be sure to 0 the linear 3D variation) then go to the variables Curl3D_cx and Curl3D_cy enter 0 then play around with Curl3D_cz - use very small increments/decrements.
Check my deviant art page for some flame packs I uploaded there - and also look for my Botanicals tutorial which should shed some light on this particular flame style.
@sockcutter Curl 3D? Ok, they've added something since I've messed with this. I have a feeling all the stuff I had planned to do today isn't going to get done, thanks! The tiled opening of that video had my eyes wide open in wonder, but seeing it slip into a spherical form.. it honestly took my breath away. Yeah, I gotta go play with this right now.. thanks.
@hilltopdesign seriously! i have also dabbled with apop and this is just phenomenal work. the smooth transitions is what is amazing to me. must have taken a lot of time. GREAT WORK. making this my channel video =)
I just started Apophysis this week and everything I see from all the great artists just blows me away. This is one of the most gorgeous things Ive seen yet.
This is amazing. Now I realize what I can use Apophysis for and what I've missed out on. Guess it takes a lot of time to get used to making this kind of animations. Once again, amazing.
This is...by far...one of the most beautiful Apophysis animations by far! Please...PLEASE...make more of your wonderful flames into long animations such as this one! I'm currently getting into Apo (very n00b), but this is definitely the skill level I'd like to achieve. The possibilites are endless. Still have trouble understanding how apophysis works, and how you have all that movemetn in your animation! >_< Is that the morphing function of the program?

Very beautiful. Thank you for this. The resolution is just fine.
petexii 1 year ago
@petexii it's not really that fine, there's too little detail and much blurring, especially on a full-hd screen

@sockcutter even for 720p? maybe you could sort-of "outsource" it to someone with a better CPU. the world would be a much better place.

@sockcutter also, sorry if I'm coming off as too critical, your work is amazing, that's why I'd like to see it better
