something bad about the touch less automatics is how crazy strong the detergents are they use. i had 2 coats of optimum opti-seal one time and another time 2 adams americana and both times there was NO beading after i ran it through a touch less auto NONE. went home sprayed it with the hose...sheeting. another thing is that there water may not be that clean since most of them filter old water over and over.
Yeah i didnt mean it to sound like that, yeah the sandwich bag was a very good tip. Na on average once a month my car needs clayed due to it being parkd outside and depending on wax, eg hard wax, soft wax etc. Any way keep up the good work!!!
You will never clean paintwork completely with a pressure washer, even after i rinse my car ,foam my car and then wash it using the 2 bucket mehod i still class it as slightly dirty only after a car is clayed and cleansed it is classed as clean and ready to be polished. U cant clean a car without touching it!!!!
This isn't necessarily a touchless car wash. The way my friends do it is with a pressure washer. A hose will only produce 60-90 psi. The pressure washer will produce 1500-4000 psi... you can literally strip paint off a car, straight to metal. With these pressure washers its not recommended to get closer than 2-3 feet.
In addition they use a foam gun, not just water. The gun hits the car and foams up, that lifts the dirt off the car. That's what I would consider a touchless car wash.
@azntalldud34u Like you said, you can use enough pressure to strip the paint. That WILL remove all the dirt but the end result is not what 99.9% of car owners would want. Thus, using a safe amount of pressure is still not going to remove all the dirt film. I don't care if you use a foam gun or a foam cannon. To remove the film that is matter to the finish, you have to touch the paint. End of story.
most touchless systems are crap. They do leave dirt. I have a silver car now coming from black. So i dont wash as often like i should. I go to a non brush was in town, they roll the car down and wash with mits, and dry with clean towels from what i can tell. Its better than a brush wash at least. Maybe i should unlazy and wash my own lol
Of corse you doing the touchless car wash yourself is not going to get all the dirt cause it is not the same .. the touchless car washes are WAY stronger than what you did and uses better liquid cleaners than you can get at the stores or at auto parts
@TheToTooTwo To each his own. If the logic of how ineffective a touchless wash escapes you after these videos, then you just don't understand. I've sent a very dusty (not dirty), car through a touchless wash and met it on the other side. I let the car air dry and the dirt haze was all over the car. Case proven.
yes i watched it and it was a great one thank you. Can you make a video on making the best soap and do you have to wash your microfiber drying down after every use
@tro83jan All of this stuff has already been discussed in detail over at Adam's Forums. You need to create an account there so that you can read all the information. Some things do not need a video when text can easily get the information across.
I never will take my car to any kind of car wash. I would rather do it myself... My fiance took his car through a touchless wash a few weeks ago to get the salt off and it looked great coming out, but then his car is black so its easy to get it to shine unlike a light colored car
@Junkman2000 its me- casketcrewchick-- got a new name. hah Anyways, that touchless wash wasnt touchless- there were flappy things that were rubbing the car... oh no... after a million cars were there already to get the salt washed off. NOPE not for me thanks lol
How often do you recommend washing your car? I currently wash my truck once a week. 2 weeks max usually because it's gonna rain and I don't see a point or I just got super lazy that weekend.
@tylerh090 I wash my pride and joy whenever it gets dirty. That might be 3 times a week. I never wash my daily driver. It gets washed by mother nature. How often should you wash yours? Whenever you plan to wash it correctly because it is dirty.
I was waiting on someone to post that. Why would I cover my plate on You Tube when I can't cover them while driving all over the country? Anyway, who in their right mind would try and break into the house of a former Marine and LA cop who's just dying to crank off some rounds? I didn't get to shoot nearly enough stuff in my life so I'm just looking for a reason to do some make up! lol!
@borderwave2 I know, I know... like someone is going to show up at the house of a crazy ass Marine looking for trouble. I use to pray fo something to shoot when I was younger! lol!
Unplugging from the Matrix !!! THAT is Awsome!! Junkman you need to get a show on TV to show ppl how to take care of the simple things that make a car look great..the PAINT !! Love your show's!! I always use my hands a bucket of car soap and good mico cloths. In order to get something clean you have to get dirty :-)
Agreed! I ONLY use them when they blow dry the car. I DO NOT touch the paint after it's done. IMO this is the best way for us folks driving in the salt, sand and dirt that our beautiful northern winters bring us. Like you said though... DO NOT touch the paint. When my car dries you can see the film for sure... It however is MUCH better than the salt that it had prior to the washing.
Brotha, I think having a touchless carwash to remove the heavily stuck road-grime on the car can be beneficial compared to handwashing those grimes out. The films of grime left behind after a touchless carwash are always very light, and can be further dissolved with a foam gun and a gentle hand wash. I think most people prefer having their cars pre-washed at a touchless place prior to handwashing.
"don't try this at home kids!"

@Nsimy1 There is no need to clay a car every time you wash it. You only need to clay it when it fails the baggy test.

you really need to upload higher resolution video. As it is, scratches in any before and after scenario aren't going to be very visible
