  • what would dogs eat in the wild? they seem to clumsy to sneek up on anything

  • don't quite understand that last comment......."need that dog to caught you meat..." HUH???

  • When soups $10 a can you'll need that dog to caught you meat, keep this in mind ;-)

  • we live on a private road at a dead end. OUr dog is going to be 12 years old in October. She hasn't been on a leash (except at shopping centers, unfamiliar territory) since she was about 6. We go to the dog park every single day.

All dogs are different --- just like people.

  • um, leash dude?

  • yes i do have a sight hound. if you read my entire post i stated the fact i do. obedient.. for now until she bolts and doesn't return. just my opinion,, your dog, your choice. no disrespect intended. :) Pce.

  • no leash??? are you nuts? 0 -30mph in 4 seconds, your lucky if you'll ever see her again. there is no way i could let my Grey off a leash and she is a 5 yr old Retired racer ..3 yrs now. c'mon... please remember these dogs have been bred as a business not pets.. pls, remember the Trust they have in you. put her on a leash.

  • @Budafinga Have you ever had a sighthound? I think you haven't. My Borys hates the leash, he is very obedient and doesn't need it because we can always make him come to us under any circumstances. For this dogs this is pain and freedom abuse to notz let them run freely.

  • @Budafinga how do they get them back after a race?

  • @Budafinga Ye gods you seriously need to go to training classes, NO dog should ever be on a lead the entire time it's being walked regardless of how big your garden is. Do you training. Millions of ex racers integrate perfectly well into classes and life as a pet without the daft 'oh it's a GREYHOUND (as tho this somehow makes them different than any other dog) it can't be off the lead - it can and it most definitely SHOULD

  • @okarnill35 my hound has integrated seamlessly to life beyond the track, very socialized, housebroken, typical greyhound, sleeps all day. i still would never let her run loose without being in a fenced area. as you say the misconception of millions of ex racers can only be on a lead.. i see your point but how many of these dogs have died because owners have let them loose and they bolt and never can be found? like i said your choice.

  • @Budafinga Hardly seamlessly if it's not allowed off the lead :) all our ex racers are up to gold level in their good citizen training, that means off lead heel all paces, as well as all the sits and sendaways and recalls you like Keeping a dog on a lead because it 'might bolt' is not a reason,it's an excuse for not properly training your dog. Go to a training class where you can be shown how to train a recall properly, I am a dog trainer and it IS my choice to ensure adequate exercise for them

  • you should keep a leash on for safety

  • @quietdragon1569 right on!

  • nice stalking :)))

  • There goes the greyhound experts opinion down the gurgler again. Someone did not tell this grey that she is not smart enough to stop and look for cars.

  • i was expecting her to break into a 45mph run at any time...lol
