  • This is my favorite intro song ever for a TV show I think. I love the show too.

  • FUCK YEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH

  • My childhood.........:D

  • Haven't seen this in forever. Couldn't help but to notice all the stereotypes. Gtfoh

  • Heathcliff was the mother of all catchy '80s cartoon themes.

  • This show's getting a DVD release in February.. Cookie Jar's re-releasing it through Mill Creek.

  • @digiblader1

That's good news.Shot Factory did a great job on the original release, but they only released the first 24 episodes of the first season. Guess there wasn't enough demand.

The Shout Factory DVD set had a lot of nice extras, including the promo reel used to sell the show to stations. They probably aren't included in this set, so if you like the show, I'd recommend picking it up.

  • Thanks for the upload! I love this intro! Great quality! Me and my generation thank you! :)

  • Where did you find a theme that sounds that good? All I can ever find is scratchy and tempo problem ones

  • @MrBw1982 I captured it from the DVD using a capture card and a DVD player.

  • Is it just me or did pokemon stole the idea for the cat balloon?

  • way more of a topcat ripoff than garfield. but who cares i like all three.

  • Thumbs Up if you think Heathcliff would've kicked Garfield's ASS !!! lol

  • Good times.

  • i have this theme song avail. for free download at soundcloud . coom /tyhler novac and check out my other free downloads from my mixtape the caustic due out December 5 th 2011

  • Great tune, but I still don't understand why there are TWO cats named Heathcliff.

  • @janecfader 2? What?

  • @yuriwriter I thought that the scruffy cat and the fancy cat were both named Heathcliff but I was wrong. It seemed like a mean thing to do--to confuse children in that way.

  • i miss this show my sister and i watched it all the time

  • They show this on netflix, if anybody is interested.

  • @sonep511 Streaming is MASTER RACE

  • holy shit ... i just had a crazy flashback! wow!

  • i love heathcliff.i remember watching this after i came home school back in the 80's..beautiful times

  • Oh god... these shows caused furries to happen. :(

  • 13 people are cat haters!

  • @AChamblee831 Yeah, today's Saturday morning cartoons suck rocks.

  • I wish I had a magic Honda Element that could transform into things like that car.

  • @fkthep Yeah, you are!

  • @fkthep Troll

  • Rebuttal: Regular Show and Adventure Time. Those two beat the shit out of half of those listed.

  • @eruption257 Give it up. Those shows are toilet fodder compared to the shows listed here! XP

  • @eruption257 Those two are HORRIBLE All those show beat the shit out of Regular Show and Adventure Time. Those two shows are some of the worst yet period. Get your head on straight before talking about anything on Cartoon Network anymore.

  • @bridaco Oh come on, Adventure Time of all things is definitely not horrible. It beats the shit out of He-Man at least.

  • @AChamblee831 80s, 90s and 2000s all the way. Heathcliff, Inspector Gadget, Ghostbusters, Thundercats, Smurfs, SMBSS, Oldskool TMNT, Beetlejuice, Denver the Last Dinosaur, DuckTales, Kim Possible, TaleSpin, Darkwing Duck, Goof Troop, Mega Man, Clarissa Explains It All, Girl Talk, Tazmania, Batman Beyond, X-Men Evolution, The Spectaular Spider-Man, Iron Man Armored Adventures, Sonic X, All Grown Up!, Spongebob Squarepants, Lady Lovelylocks, Rocko's Modern Life, Dora, DBZ Kai and Diego.

  • This was my shit. Nuthin like growing up in the late 80s n early 90s.

  • HOLY SHIT! they announced a new Heathcliff movie AND a new comic series AND a TV show! don't believe me? GO TO HEATHCLIFF COMICS.COM!

  • stuck in my head for the rest of the day now

  • Doesn't matter to me which Orange Cartoon Cat was cool. I liked BOTH Heatchliff and Garfield.

  • @redracer1985 Agreed.

  • @zellixia Youngters LOL.......so them whats up Team Heathcliff

  • Most awesome cartoon song. Luv it!

  • Turbopimp

  • Oh shit that one cat was a pimp!

  • Was Heathcliff the only cartoon character you grew up with that was totally badass? I mean, he always ended up beating up some fool who pissed him off.

  • Have anyone ever wonder why Hecliff and Riff Raff never actually meet but only the Junk Yard Cats? And CLEO IS A HOTTIE have a crush on her

  • @genestarwindjf80 The reason is unclear, but some suspect that the McNaught company who owned Heathcliff did not want any outside characters appearing on Heathcliff. Riff-Raff and Cleo were primarily invented by Jean Chalopin and Bruno Bianchi, while Hector, Wordsworth, and Mungo were created specifically so they could appear in either series. The only time in which Heathcliff and Riff-Raff appear on-screen together is in the end credits, when Riff-Raff snatches his hat back from Heathcliff.

  • @genestarwindjf80 The reason is unclear but some speculate that McNaught Co. who owned Heathcliff, did not want any outside characters appearing on Heathcliff. Riff-Raff and Cleo were primarily invented by Jean Chalopin, whereas Hector, Woodsworth and Mongo were created specifically so that they can appear in either series.

  • @ButuSash still like to see a episode with them though. see who's the smartest toughest cat.

  • Mel Blanc did amazing job.

  • This is without a doubt 1 of the very best cartoon intro songs ever imo, along with Denver the last dinosaur, darkwing Duck and a few othrs. Just totally awesome

  • To be honest I wished they would take Garfield off Cartoon Network and put Heathcliff on. I LOVE HEATHCLIFF

  • Brings back some good ole times!!

  • This is sorta like 80s Anime.

    Heathcliff Forever <3

  • lyics please

  • My god this theme song is catchy. And Cleo along with Gadget had to be my first furry. How did she grow legwarmers?

  • She could give a dog a bone

    See wut i did thar?

  • Heathcliff - A cartoon version of a orange tabby alpha tom cat.

Garfield - Once a cartoon version of a domineering orange tabby tom cat, now John Arbuckle's fat orange furry roommate.

  • awwww i remember this!

  • Other than both of them are orange cats, I don't see how they are the same. Heathcliff is a street-wise brawler while Garfield is a lazy, spoiled house cat. But I do agree; Heathcliff is better. <3

  • HOW DOES THIS RESEMBLE GARFIELD? I KNOW HE HAS THE SAME SHADE OF ORANGE FUR AND FUR PATTERN AND CAN BEAT UP DOGS LIKE HIM, BUT... oh wait, he does

  • @CallmeWHALE They're both AWESOME & FAT CATS!!!! The best kind, LOL!!!!

  • batatoon

  • Why did they make a Wii game about this old cartoon...

  • 0:48-0:58 i feel like to cry. there is no reason for crying but whatever. :D

  • classic

  • Mongo is a badass

  • Remember, kids: a pimp hat and a cane makes you have aaaaaaall the pussies.

  • He can win what with me?

  • @KINGBADASS100

That would be kind of hard, since Heathcliff was around several years before Garfield.

  • @kobun37

Doh!!! I meant Garfield ripped off Heathcliff!! Sorry!

  • @kobun37

Goddam it!!! Sorry I just realized I got Garfield & Heathcliff mixed up. I meant to say Garfield RIPPED OFF HEATHCLIFF, not the other way around. Sorry.

  • @kobun37 nice of you to put kingbadass in his place.

  • @kobun37 5 Years in fact

  • @kobun37 He's actually right: Garfield's been out since the 1970's (first as a comic strip in the newspaper), and then as a cartoon in the early 80's/mid 90's.

  • @kobun37 Nice one.....show these young bucks whats up...he had to be too young to remember that..thats the only excuse i can think of

  • @KINGBADASS100 S'alright mate, I had a mad crush on "it" growing up. She's got human features and I saw through the "cat" part.

  • @KINGBADASS100 Actually Heathcliff predates Garfield by 7-8 years. Now who's the ripoff huh?? Get your fact's strait before dissing people kid.

  • @PimpWizard3000

Aaahhh shit. So sorry man. I actually meant to put in Garfield ripped off Heathcliff, but I just mixed up the two words. I apologize.

  • @KINGBADASS100 grow up bitch.get a fucking life

  • @KINGBADASS100 Heathcliff originated in 1973, Garfield originated in 1978.

  • suck it Garfield

  • All I know is I'm exploding with child hood memories. Shit I haven't thought off for 19 years just popped into my head just now. Wow. Btw, catchy intro toon.

  • Heathcliff was Mel Blanc's last original character he did the voice of right? wasn't he already in his 70's when he started voicing Heathcliff?

  • HOW IS THAT TUB MOVING

  • What surprised me most of all is that I recently found out Chuck Lorre(creator of Two and a Half Man, Mike and Molly, Big Bang Theory) worked on this show as one of the writers; lol live and learn

  • @AChamblee831 Yeah.

  • Fajne disco; )

  • I have not heard this since about 1986

  • Riff-Raff's squeeze is pretty hot.

  • cleo was my first crush, lol

  • @Pareidolic its ok man....she was mine too....lol

  • OMG!!! I've been searching for this for like 20 years! >.<

  • I first heard this guy when a few Gm cereals had the incredible world of DIC DVDs and I got the super mario one. After watching heathcliff, I feel like they should bring it back. I only saw a few episodes of it (out of order) and I want to see the rest, but it's never shown on TV. I never forgot the day I got it. I ( I still have luckily. :)

  • Shows like this are how Furrys started

  • Ok yeah I just sheaded a tear it is so sad seeing good cartoons that will never show again. Born in 84 and bro was born in 86 and we loved heathcliff. It sucks growing up and when you see your fav cartoons. It just hurts even worse cause you know no one of these generations will never enjoy what was the best. I wish I could turn back time and go back to the years when these were playing. Screw you TV NAZI BASTARDS bring back our cartoons damnit.

  • AMAZING, this is what the 80's are about...best cartoons, best music....top fucking stuff!!

  • I remeber watching this on nickelodeon in the 90s

  • oh my god I've been looking for this for ages :')))) ♥♥♥♥

  • I am for one also i grew up in the 80's cartoons were awesome and the horror movies u couldn't beat also.

  • They sure don,t make cartoons like this anymore.I,m so glad i grew up in the 80s i feel so bad for kids today these cartoons nower days suck.

  • @MrAllenc79 I'm one of them, but I never liked the shows they have now.

  • Great cartoon !!! Memories :)

  • I used to watch this show JUST for the opening

  • Loved this show, 80's simply can't be beat

  • i would say that this intro song is better then most of the songs played on radio today! 1980's <3 remember watching this in the later 90's and early 2000's

  • I still got VHS of the first 3 episodes xD and it is still good quality, I'm trying to get the stuff to put it onto dvd to preserve the awesome cartoons of the good 'ol days.

  • Heathcliff and Inspector Gadget just a couple of my fav. cartoons growing up in the 80's.

  • 12 people did not have a TV. Or were back home freshies

  • one of the best cartoon after he-man:D.... heyt bea ne günlerdi ya müziğide bi güzel bunu ya:D

  • How much i liked watching Heathcliff on Saturday morning on RTL during my childhood :-)

  • Heathcliff Brought our Childhood Love back.

  • Denise the menace & Heathcliff and the catillac cats all time favorite cartoons ever FTW!

  • one of my favorite intro songs when i was a kid. wasn't this on the super mario show for a while. i think they alternated it a few times with dennis the menace. at least that's how it was out here in southern california. not sure how the syndication of that show panned out nationwide

  • Never thought I'd hear this intro again!

  • @aoinatafanboi.....yeah so true.

  • Mungo was also the Cat version of Grimace!

  • Anyone else agree who is now an Anime fan, see a few details in the animation that are remnants of it? I mean it's odd but it's almost as though through watching Heathcliff, Inspector Gadget and Grimm's Fairy Tales. Anime was implanted into my mind.

  • @ioph3 I just found out Inspector Gadget was lol

  • Much as I like Garfield, I always liked Heathcliff too. So I just gotta ask...

Why the hell hasn't anyone put THIS show on DVD?!

  • @Soufriere84 They're going to have the crank out a live action CGI Heathcliffe before it's worth it to release the animated series on DVD. Give it time. You know it will happen.

  • Great memories.

  • Though Garfield will always be the One True Cat, the Heathcliffe movie has a place in my heart as the very first movie my mother ever took me to.

  • I look at the credits and found out Chuck Lorre work on this show, yes the creator of House and Two and A Half Men was a writer on this show, now I got another to love this show.

  • This theme song always reminds me of the song Last Kiss.

  • much better than garfield

  • Wow thx God for the 80's this makes me feel old(I'll be 30 next year...lol)I have a 13 year old sister who wanted to know what cartoons did I watch as a kid growing up and I let her know this was one of them

  • @misterjgl lol that puts you just about 2 years older than me. Funny but our 20's seem to last the longest.

  • @simonne951

Me too, and I did the twist! My pets looked at me like I lost my marbles.

  • OMG I remember this cartoon, I just saw a little bit this cartoon this morning before I went to work. : )
