  • what idiots disliked this vid! honestly this is AWESOME

  • would love to see this live!!!! :o)

  • LOVE IT!!!!

  • peter is amazing! he can play drums guitar and sing!

  • Man y u got to hate they got skill not like u

  • This is called Homo-Rock. Why is the crowd so excited about a snare hit?

  • That's not a drum solo!

  • @LogiCyr they are playing solo .. so why not?

  • wow rip off from tommy lee's spinning solo

  • Well its really more of a drum Duet... Because there's two of them...

  • I like Peter Furler's roto toms.

  • this is the newsboys i remembered

  • wow i thought i was a good drummer......these guys blew my mind....through the whole thing im like 0-0 hoooww??...lol these guys are blessed no doubt....God bless YU

  • So a god committed suicide to save me from the hell he created to punish me in for the thoughts created in my head due to the survival impulse he gave me. Is that it?He sacrificed himself to himself for himself. In heaven a death is like money that "pays" for my sins. Try to pay at Wal-Mart with a death and see how far you get. But I guess it wasn't really any sacrifice at all because he popped back to life.

  • @2xtrbo ... are we watching the same video?? All I saw was some cool drumming.

  • @2xtrbo: Wow, yer a pretty incompetent spin doctor, or just dumb. In creating beings who can be loved & love, u have to create free will, that gives the opportunity to choose evil. Hell is God's garbage can he will dump all evil into one day. If u want to keep your evil attached to you then u go with your evil there. Jesus (free of evil) went to hell for 3 days in our place and his blood was spilled by OTHERS. God dumped all evil on him & will dump yers too & change u if u want that. It's free

  • LOVE. THIS.

  • bang bang bang

  • MOnster... ^_^ hahaha... God Bless us All... :)

  • Not christain

  • I WAAS THERE!!!!

  • Phenomenal! I once saw this same thing on tv, blew my mind!

  • um how is it a drum solo if there's two of them.....wouldn't that be a drum duet,lol.....just being facetious

  • 17 people wish they could drum like the Newsboys

  • that little intro from the song know by SOAD is...way cooler lol :P

  • You may want to type in "Newboys- He Reigns" and listen to Peter's testimony. I don't know why these disagreements are still going on in the Church. Satan must be laughin' his gutts out.

  • Check this out. If someone is possessed, how can they give praise and honor to Jesus Christ?

  • woah

  • Duncan Phillips you are amazing!

  • This is an epic win if i ever saw one.

  • When I got saved this is no different than the rock music I came out of . I dont see how the world and socalled Christians are so deceived. Thats because they arent saved, If the Spirit of Christ is in a man or woman They would know this is wrong. I dont care if youdisa agree because it is the truth. Our youth are being deceived and going to hell and we support this garbage. They are not leading our youth to Christ but driving them away. And our youth pastors are taking them.

  • @123rockhouse Hey who made YOU the judge????

  • @123rockhouse FWI They are leading the UNsaved, God can use anything and anyone to bring ppl to him. Why are you so close minded?? As long as it does Gods will I'm fine with it, maybe you should to and Btw I know Their drummer and his sold out to Christ!!!!

  • compared to Joey Jordison from Slipknot is this a bunch of shit, i'm just sayin

  • Horrible. Christian musicians need to raise the bar.

  • they have seat belts!

  • Best DRUMMER in the world.

  • never understood why the lead singer wears eye liner. i also never got the whole excessive rockstar persona they all seem to carry. It's almost too pretentious. I think if you're blessed enough to spread Gods message to the masses, you should carry yourself in a humble fashion. keep the spot light on the one that matters...which is not you. this isn't just a career of fame, its a soul winning buisness. but, i am not here to judge any man. just giving my opinion. i could be completely wrong.

  • @MinushaMusic I would have to agree here. I was in defense back when I saw this whole argument at least a year ago. I'm shocked it's still going on. I still have nothing against them, and most of the arguments against them are either completely out of place, wrong, or direct attacks.

All that aside, when I was watching some of the stuff surrounding the Go album I felt the behind the scenes stuff just didn't feel right. They just didn't act as humble as I would have expected. Then Furler left.

  • Isn't it considered a duet, not a solo?

  • @Ryguy518 Yeah, you're right. But I guess it is a solo in an instrumental sense. Meaning, only the drums are being played without accompaniment from any other instrument.

  • I First Seen this at the Air-dome Tour! Absolutely Fantastic Performance!

And the Best Part of the Show was when Peter was singing and some people up front were reaching out to him and he shook his finger at them and Said "To God be the Glory" and Pointed to the sky! Peter and the rest of Newsboys know the reason the Rock. And they Point it Out Every Concert. I just pray that never stops to be true.

"Let the hate dissipate from this place" One Love people. ;)

  • I love the music they play but I think the holy spirit left that part of the concert.

  • best drummers in my opinion

  • Wow I didn't know the lead singer played drums too...but is he wearing eyeliner under his lower eyelids? Just never noticed that b4.?

  • ALL for The Lord's name!! Great Band.!! :]

  • The 11 people show did not like this video should be kicked squarely in the nuts...

  • The people disliking this vid are obviously a little deaf + blind? Come on, this is pure genius!

  • Saw this in Lynchburg VA. Absolutely awesome..they were with Psonic Flood another incredible group

  • check this out, Newsboys Christian Rock Band Drum Solo! This is awsome!

  • Awesome solo... Rock on newsboys!!!:) oh n their Australian not Egyptian... Lol

  • Now THAT'S how to play a drum set!!!!

  • aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa yeah!!!!! ;D awesome ;D

  • it is kind of messed up how slipnot not only stole the solo but ruined it with a pentagram

  • @11Jesusrocks11 Slipknot and the Newsboys can co-exist fine. Let he without sin cast the first stone. Drop the holier-than-thou attitude.

  • where's mike tait bet you he cann't do this, he cann't even sing

  • Man they must be Hungry!

  • Duncan is da man!!!

  • Check out the NewsBoys drum solo,: better than motley crue

  • yeah I don't know why he wears eyeliner, cause he cries a lot, but then maybe its so we can see his tears from so far away.

  • dude, was he wearing eyeliner?

  • I think that he thinks he is an egyptian.

    It's guyliner.

  • Oh Duncan Philipps, you are a legend.

  • any drum solo that requires seat belts is ok by me!

  • Ah man that"s AWESOME!

    Thanks for uploading this!

I love Newsboys! Always have Always will!

  • THEY DID THIS WHEN I SAW THE IN MARYLAND=]

    where is this?

    Praise God<333

    Courtney=]

  • Pennsylvania somewhere. It's from their video, "One Night in Pennsylvania".

  • @deadoralive25

    thanks lol! ha

    Praise God<333

    Courtney=]

  • It was from a concert they did at Hershey Arena

  • Man, I remember seeing this for the first time! Peter and Ducan Rocking it out! They are so awesome!!!!!

  • Christian Music posers. Why can't it just be music? Or Rock N Roll? Why does it have to have a message? I'll tell you why...because they will have a captive audience, meaning guaranteed sales by those who believe secular rock music is evil. They're told that bands like this with a "Message" is OK however so they have a built in audience, even if it's their first album and nobody has heard of 'em yet, it'll sell like crazy because the hardcore Christians want SOMETHING to listen to, right?

  • Um, isn't the opposite just as much a captive audience? Do you honestly think Marilyn Manson doesn't have a built in audience?

But since you seem to love making baseless assertions anyway, I'm going to give you the chance to prove them. Go ahead and show me that talentless Christian band who manages to sell their album like crazy anyway. I want hard data here, with verifiable evidence. Otherwise, I'll just go ahead and assume you're a buffoon with an axe to grind.

  • Ok, you can stick your "Hard data" up your uptight ass, first off. You're just all upset because you know I'm right. I don't even like Manson, but no it's not the same. It's just marketed for the masses. Not limited to a certain demographic, like people of a certain faith like this crap is. If these guys were marketed to the mainstream, they wouldn't sell 3 copies and you know it. The songwriting is first rate CRAP. SO go blow a donkey you BUFFOON!

  • Since it's obvious now that you have no hard data, I can now safely assume you have only an axe to grind. As per, I will now provide some hard data that shows how wrong you are:

    Jars of Clay

    Michael W. Smith

    MercyMe

    POD

    Lifehouse

Just some of the bands you call limited, but are indeed marketed to the mainstream, and indeed have found great success. Oops. How's that for an axe?

  • You are missing my point...I'm not talking about the ones who are marketed to the masses...Hell, we could go as far back as STRYPER who I love, they were out touring with POISON in '87 and I was hooked. I'm talking about the ones like the Newsboys...3 out of 4 people on the street wouldn't know who the hell they are. The ones I'm speaking of are ONLY marketed to the christian book/music stores.

  • MercyMe is not marketed to the masses. Neither is Smith. Amy Grant is, and so is Skillet. Am I supposed to believe the latter are more talented? As for whether 3 out of 4 people know who the NB are, this comes down merely to a matter of taste. I doubt you would know who Dulce Liquido is, or perhaps even Suicide Commando. What's your point, that everyone who doesn't share your same taste is wrong? It seems you have a very shallow outlook on life.

  • Employing your logic, American Idol serves as the launching pad for all the world's greatest singers simply because 3 out 4 people know who Kelly Clarkson is. Is this what I'm supposed to believe? That Kelly Clarkson is the greatest singer to have ever graced the stage? According to your argument she is. What I am to make of Yoko Ono, since 3 out of 4 people know who she is too. Is she a talented singer? Man, put your axe away. Just try to enjoy the music for once.

  • Man, You just don't get it. You miss my point every time. I'm saying the musicians they employ in the Christian market could never cut it in mainstream music...this Newsboys crap is a prime example. I live in Nashville where some of these guys do or at least did a few years ago, and they are a joke among the real musicians in this town. And I've been in the music industry since 1991! I hear it all. Just go back to your flock, sheep, so you an continue to gt the wool pulled over your eyes! LOL!

  • But I've just named 7 musicians employed in the Christian market who are indeed cutting it in the mainstream music. Would you like more? What say you of FFF, Switchfoot, Chevelle, even Kansas? You see, I have a little thing called facts on my side. What you have is your opinion.

You've been in the industry since 91? And that's supposed to mean what exactly? What, got yourself a little local band that never went anywhere? Is that why you have this axe to grind?

  • No the business end...artist relations for the 2 biggest guitar manufacturers on the planet...you know the big 2. None of the bands you have mentioned are or were marketed just to the Chistian market to begin with so your so called facts don't hold up brother. Sorry but you have been proven wrong. My only point here is that if a musician or band is any good, they don't have to be marketed to a built in clientele who will buy anything with the label "Christian" on it.

  • Part 2...Can you only eat "Christian Pizza"? NNo, that's ridiculous! So is only being able to listen to "Christian" music!!

  • In the end though, it doesnt matter either way, because I still have the facts, while you still have your opinion. But since you want your opinion, then I challenge you. Go ahead and give these a guys a listen to, and then tell me they have no talent either. I happen to be acquainted with some of their members and would like to hear what your uh ahem professional thoughts are concerning their talent level. /watch?v=fdyTCHoIkk4

  • you never expected to run into someone who does know what hes talking about; and that there would be some truly gifted musicians out there who choose to worship their God in song. You shouldve asked what it is about this God that makes these artists do what they do. Instead, you find yourself pwnd, my friend. Good luck with that and all. Maybe now youve learned not to question the Newsboys or their fans. Give us a half stage, well start up a rampage, coz thats the way we roll.

  • These are the facts: youre a guitar salesman with limited taste in music, and even more limited experience with both God and Christianity. You watched an episode of South Park, and now fancy yourself an expert in Christian music. Now you go trolling around, hoping to find some teenagers who dont know what theyre talking about so that you can appear to be more than what you are. The fact is

  • Nope, you're wrong. Skillet was first signed by Forefront Records, an exclusively Christian label. Smith was also first signed by an exclusively Christian label - Meadowgreen Music. As was Amy Grant - Word Records; FF5 - Starsong Communications; Switchfoot - Rethink Records; Jars of Clay - Essential Records; Sixpence None the Richer - Squint Entertainment; and the list just goes on and on. You really should learn to Google.

  • Selling guitars to wanna-be musicians is hardly what I call, "being in the business." Let me go ahead and blow your mind a little. My boss was the lead guitarist for Simple Aggression Google them. He cut 3 records with Leviathon Records back in the 90s, and has recently in the past few years been sampled by MTV and VH1 for the R J Dio bio. Im going to show him your messages. I can promise he's going to think you're an idiot, as he's called out people like you before. Sorry, but true

  • You sure know your Christian music! I used to keep up with it, but it's been a long time. "Back in the day," however, I was quite the expert too. ;) Newsboys are still my all-time favorite Christian band, and their concerts were unforgettable. Met all the guys several times.

  • What do you mean by "back in the day"?

  • "Back in the day" was around 1994 - 1997 when I was in my mid-teens. Christian music was my life! Good times.

  • If you don't mind me asking, what is your life now?

  • I don't mind at all. My life now is all work and no play - same ol' routine day in and day out. It's not bad, but not as fun as it used to be. I stil listen to my old CD's when I have time, though I have branched out into other forms of music now. I am actually a trained classical pianist, so my musical tastes have been shaped by that as well. But I have to say that disco is my absolute all-time favorite music style. Can't help it! ;)

  • Techno is my favorite. We're not all that different in musical tastes then, save for the fact I don't play any instrument. But what I meant was, what of the subject of the Newsboys music, Jesus Christ the Lord? What of your faith? Have you faith in Christ?

  • Techno is great too! Forgot about that one momentarily. And yes, I absolutely have faith in Christ. I have been a Christian since age 5 and still believe. Have read the Bible many times through, also. I do not associate myself with any particular denomination - I just believe what the Bible says, period.

  • Cool. I suppose I'm not currently a member of any particular denomination either, having just recently escaped the hellish philosophy of a seeker-sensitive church. I'm curious, not meaning to be judgmental here, but can anyone really surrender to the Lordship of Christ at age 5? I don't know, just asking. Are you born again?

  • @gurganuschris what are your thoughts on underoath touring with "secular" bands? i mean they started out only playing in churches, signed to tooth and nail records(a christian label), and now they are huge in the so called market. i agree with you about the limitations this style of music has. but there are some bands in the mainstream that are simple garbage and annoying poppy cookie cutter bands that are just marketed well. seriously...have u listened to the nevershoutnever deuche? ahahha

  • i remember having this on VHS this concert thing

  • Yes, I believe someone can surrender to Jesus at a very young age. Each person is different and must come to the Lord at the right time, but for me, it stuck. I never strayed from Him, and was closer to Him in my teen years than ever in my life. I admit I'm not as disciplined now as I used to be, but I am born again. I hear you about the "seeker-sensitive" philosophy. It doesn't work.

  • I appreciate your honesty. And it's good to hear you are still a follower. Might I suggest though that one of the reasons why you may not feel as close to Him now as you did as a teenager is that you've neglected learning some rather common theology. My friend, Christ is never far away from you. He cannot be closer one day, and then far the next. Therefore, you cannot be closer to Him during one period of your life, and then farther from Him the next.

    Not discipline, it's self-control.

  • that bald drummer is the shiz

  • It's Peter, who was the lead singer during those days. He can play guitar, too!

  • were was that concert i wish i was there

  • I was at this concert, it was awsome!!!!

  • why the heck do people go around youtube just to write Joey Jordison is better on everything? he isint even that good!

  • awesome i loved it

  • ummm you realize that the newsboys have been doing this a whole lot longer than Joey Jordison right? They have been doing this since the early 80's back in Australia if I remember correctly.

  • actually it's a duet

  • He took a break.

  • how come Peter isn't singing anymore?

  • this drum flipping thing, it is so cool;) A other band also used it, I believe it was Nirvana or something...

    But still, Newsboys rock:D:D

  • slipknot does it too

  • My source said they bought the technology from Motley crue when they wehn on tour, but I could be wrong.

  • exelente

  • WOW!!!!!! just awesome!!!!!!!! newsboys are the best!! does anybody knows where was this concert?

  • it was in philli

  • oh ok, thanks!!!!

  • thanks!!!

  • It seems to me that you have anger issues.....

  • I had the pleasure of meeting Peter back in 91. Very nice guy that loves the Lord with all his heart. I'm hoping to post some videos that I took back in 91 and 92 to share with the world!

I also have an interview with the original singer John James that I would love to share. This guy has such a heart for Jesus also.

  • About noon as I came near Damascus, suddenly a bright light from heaven flashed around me. I fell to the ground and heard a voice say to me, "Saul! Saul! Why do you persecute me?"

"Who are you, Lord?" I asked.

"I am Jesus of Nazareth, whom you are persecuting," he replied. My companions saw the light, but they did not understand the voice of him who was speaking to me.

Done arguing with you maam/or sir. I hope you repent of causing division in the church and embarrassing yourself.

  • If I speak in the languages of humans and angels but have no love, I have become a reverberating gong or a clashing cymbal.

    1 Corinthians 13:1

  • wow it's sad how u guys argue about religion that has nothing to do with this video...

  • Don't worry, she/he will come to you next..I agree with your statement 100%.

Newsboys were annointed, by the way, Saturday when I saw them. The whole crowd was worshipping the Lord that night! I underestimated the new singer, although he is not Peter, but he was good..

  • We are one in the Spirit, we are one in the Lord

We are one in the Spirit, we are one in the Lord

And we pray that all unity may one day be restored

And they'll know we are Christians by our love, by our love

They will know we are Christians by our love

  • Its all Gods children singing

    Glory, glory, hallelujah

    He reigns, He reigns

    Its all Gods children singing

    Glory, glory, hallelujah

    He reigns, He reigns

  • In the hands of God we will fall

Rest for the restless, and the weary

    Hope for the sinner

In the hands of God we stand tall

Hands that are mighty to deliver

    Giving us freedom

    You're amazing

    You're amazing, You are

    And we praise You, Lord

For what Your hands have done

  • Read some comments here by a very judgemental individual. Makes me wonder if he/she ever went to a NB concert. This is just 1 small part of the concert. Last night I went very cynical to a NB concert because of the new "singer" but God spoke, "he is your brother & it's about ME not them". Awesome Praise & Worship. It's very dangerous to judge someone & say they are not really Christians because in the end they probably are. Won't you feel ashamed of yourself then? Judge not lest ye be judged.

  • I wish I could have witnessed this! LOL! These two are truly talented!

  • Comment removed

  • spool Tommy Lee did do this 20 years ago, but Tony Royster did it 20 years before him, whats your point? It still rocks.

  • AWESOME! Gonna see them this weekend. I hear none of the originals are left. I first saw them back in 91...

  • Tommy Lee did some of this, but not with 2 drummers playing perfectly in time together; too many drugs and not enough Jesus. I haven't read all of the comments under this, but I read enough. To my fellow Christians: SHUT UP. If you aren't going to speak love and truth, SHUT UP. If you aren't speaking love, you are missing the whole point. To those who have not yet discovered the love and truth of God, ignore the rantings of the few, and find for yourself the love that God has for you.

  • you could have said, "to my fellow Christians if your not going to speak love and truth, don't comment." Much better way :)

  • @chaywoo Let me guess your from a strict catholic family who believed that any sign of happiness was that of as being demon possessed, and believes that any rock music, Christian rock, is the devils music. FYI Duncan and peter are NOT homos they both are married(to woman) and have kids!!! Do you even know what "homo" means?? If you don't do yourself and others a favor and look it up. Oh and I hope I made you mad cos that means I win and You lose!!!

  • Pretty cool but Tommy Lee did this over 20 years ago.

  • That was awesome!!!

  • omg i think they comin to rio grande valley

  • hahaha i was there!

  • That's a U2 song (riff) in the beginning.

  • It's U2's "Bullet the Blue Sky" in the opening of the video.

  • My Oh MY Dont you all Know that evrything on earth and in Heaven are of no secret to God!!!!! He knows the motives of all of our actions, whether Good or Bad He knows our heart !!!!! and remember God does govern in the affairs of man that is throughout scripture,So I would not be getting to upset over a music video,God Bless,Woody

  • Why are there so many brain dead people here.. Listen nit wit, "2 Thess 2:10-12

And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:

12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

    KJV

See what a bonehead you are, get it in gear punk..

  • Calling people "brain dead" and "boneheads" are a sure way to win people to Christ, I give you two thumbs up. This is going to make people less likely to listen to you for degrading them.

  • haha Peter and Dunny are awesome!

  • They did that at the show I went to! It was soooo good!!

  • they did this at on of their concerts i went to, it was awsome. the newsboys rock!!!

  • Awesome!!!!!!

  • Unfortunately, the revolving drums is about all that the Newsboys are holding onto, at least in the U.S. They have been using the Drum Riser routine for quite many years, They are doing much better popularity wise, over in Europe.

  • These guys are awesome, they did this at Creation, the place went nuts

  • Were you there?

  • This is one of my favorite parts on ONIP! :D

  • Ahh so good lol. Saw them when they came to Winnipeg, it was crazy that things spins FAST!

  • I gotta get me 1 of those platform revolvers!!!

  • LOL that would be cool!

  • yeaahhh! cool! awesome video!

  • i say that rotating stage is the best money they spent, they've been using it since the mid 90's :)

  • these guys are just crazy lol

  • But the thing spinned two times more faster! :D i LOVE THE NEWSBOYS!!!!!!

  • You sure are showing them love chaywoo....

  • Its called reproving or rebuking. The bible says in Proverbs "reprove a wise man and he will love thee, reprove a fool and get a blot" (a mocking type response) What types of responses did I get? Where category does your response fall into?

  • I was not mocking you though, if you took it that was I apologize. I am just noting, that there wasn't a whole lot of love or compassion in your rebuke. Jesus almost always rebuked people, then offered some sort of option or mercy. Throughout the old testament God, Himself rebukes rebellious Israel, and right after, offers His mercy in almost every situation. I think our God is so awesome.
