Ooooh I'd comment some more my comrades but I just pissed myself looking at our great leader Cum Jerk ILL's photo I have in my wallet.".. what a knobhead..
@Thuriyasai its actually in his genes, all his family was fat. But also could be the fact that hes a dictator as along with his generation, they get enough food to eat while everyone in north korea is starving.
Beautiful country, I would love to visit Pyongyang. But I cannot speak your beautiful language, so please include English subtitles in future videos please?
Very impressive, just like any totalitarian propaganda. Sometimes I hear the name of Kim Jong Il and I understand that the speaker is very enthusiastic but why there aren't English or at least Russian subtitles?
Typical of a country with a big inferiority complex: they overdo everything: from the immense amount of medals on the generals uniform, to the military caps that look too big for the soldiers heads, to the over enthusiastic marching , over enthusiastic applause, over dramatized emotions, everything has to be the biggest etc etc.... the word subtle is probably not in the North Korean dictionary.

We have rockets. Oh, everyone else does too? UMMmmmmm, we have nukes! Oh, They do too? WOW, we really don't have anything to show off. I guess our Douche Idea is incredibly flawed.
Stop making comments about the lack of freedom in Korea a heated discussion about Iraq! You have not made a single relevant comment to the video or actual comments here!! There are so many places you can went your anger over Iraq. But to do that over a comment making the point that NK has turned into a countrywide mad cult where the real victims are the People of NK, is simply out of line. I dont blaim the NK people, I blaim a mad regime whom' only interest is their personal survival and power!
Fuck you with your liberating armies, brainwashed idiot. So called western armies are fucking aggressive tools of the 10% of rich who rule 90% of you, looser. And fuck your Jesus and your religion. And you lost the war in Vietnam, lost to a very small tiny Vietnamese army, who fucked your ass...
Tiny Vietnamese army..? Ho Chi Minh himself acknowledge that the only way to beat back the Americans and South Vietnamese was to send hordes and hordes and hordes of cannon fodder. That's the strength of communist armies, people aren't worth anything, so you can just keep sending people to their deaths. Eventually, when you've caused enough to damage, the democracy will decide it's time to pull out. That's what happened in Vietnam. Ho Chi Minh knew it, so should you.
So, you can kiss my and Ho Chi Min's curly asses. F[]ck, your democracy can suck my d[]ck. Your democracy used weapons of mass destructions (such as flame-throwers and toxic gases) against cvilians, against children, against wome, so you have nothing to be proud of your so-called democracy. No any communist country ever raised against any western country, it's you, westerners came without any invitations and with weapons to Vietnam, Korea, Yugoslavia. So, is this your praised democracy?
I don't defend the use of these weapons. Ever. But democracies are by far not the only users. The Soviet union used flame throwers against the Germans, used tons and tons and tons of napalm and incendiaries against Afghan civilians and villages. South Vietnam was invaded by North Vietnam, South Korea was invaded by North Korea (Look at north and south today), and Milosevic invited NATO to come knocking when he started slaughtering and butchering Muslim civilians in Bosnia and Serbia.
You know, Soviets did a very right thing when they used flame throwers against Wehrmacht, because Wehrmacht did even much worser things to Soviets. In Afganistan Soviets killed some civilians, but at the same time Soviet were BUILDING schools, plants and roads there. Americans are not building anything in Afganistan now - they cannot even control Afgans except some small territory around Kabul. North Korea and Vietnam attempted to unite their countries.
As for Yugoslvia, according to NATO charter it well known that NATO can bring military missions only if there is a threat to its member countries. Yugoslavia had no threat to Nany NATO country, so it was pure invasion. As for killing its people - it was their souvereign business, none had any rights to involve into it. Look at Britain, they are also exterminating Irsih people even now - so, why you Europpean democracy doesn't work in this case? Or Spain government, killing Basks?
I may also remind you about Guantanamo! XXI century, the fluorishing democracy of the West raping, humiliating and killing prisoners-of-war in its prisons! Don't be blind, OK. Your democracy - is just a big lie, sold to you by your oligarchs. Don't be a brainwashed stupid cattle. I am not saying that totalitarism is good - but its a bullshit that your democracy is better. Its just the same shit, with the onl exception: they give you a "vision" of freedom, which in reality is just a BIG LIE!
Here's the difference between the west and authoritarian regimes. I am aware that my freedoms are limited. I have credit agencies harassing me, I get sugar coated news, and I'm ruled by consumerism. Thank you, I'd rather face those problems than have any government tell me what I can say and can't say, where I can go and not go, what I can do and not do.
You are just a consumer, that's right. That's what you all westerners are. I compare people of the west and east - I have a great opportunity to see i here, in the land of "democracy". Your individualism brings to loneliness, your churches are anotehr instruments of brainwashing, and yourmass-media is another "propaganda" tool (which is very subjective).
I agree, brainwashing happens in all societies. BUT, I am free to criticize my government, I'm free to do whatever I want with my time. No one can tell me what to do or what not to do. If i don't want to work, no one forces me (I'll be a bum, yes). If I want to sit in the grass all day and count straws of grass, I can. I choose to watch whichever media I want. I choose to go to whatever church I want. I choose to be a consumer. Try "choosing" anything in North Korea.
That's what you are :) - a consumer. Therefore you have the highest rate of people with overweight. Therefore you have highest rate of suicides, highest rate of divorces, highest rate of homicides. This is all because your life is completely meaningless - you are tooo focused on your single "I". You don't care about others. You all just consumers.
Britain is not exterminating Irish in 2010. If you have any evidence what so ever, that Spanish and British authorities are committing genocide, please let me know. It's no one's sovereign business to kill or incarcerate innocent people without trial or due process. That goes for Guantanamo as well. A lunatic committing genocide in Europe's backyard was perceived a threat, and unacceptable. Remember, World War 1 started in that area.
Both Northern Ireland and Basks want independence, why you just dn't give them it? Or people should look at this issue from the another angle than they look at Russian Chechnya? Why, when it comes to Russia, chechen terrorists become freedom fighters, and when it comes to Irish or Bask freedom fighters, they become terrorists? What was the Iraq's threat to the west? Your goverments told you that Iraq has weapons of mass destruction, but in fact it turned out to be a big LIE!
On Iraq, I agree. I never voted for Bush, the man was a disgrace to this country. As for giving independence to anyone who wants it.. Irish freedom fighters? Ireland is a sovereign nation, the Irish are pissed off about Northern Ireland, which is predominately populated by British protestants, not Irish Catholics. If any region that wanted independence got it, most countries would crumble. The majority of the population of the Basque region too, are not ethnic Basques.
I never understood why on earth Chechnya should be part of Russia to be honest. But I do know once Russia gives Chechnya independence, Dagestan, Ingushetia and every other Russian federal subject with a hint of nationalism is going to want independence. If they actually held a referendum over it though, I don't see why an area that is barely Russian, with different language and religion should remain part of Russia.
It was a part of Russia since 17th century. If Chechnya gets independence, its going to be as you said "crumble". Their economy would be based on human trafficking, drugs and spread of terrorism. Indepedent Chechnya would threaten not only Russia, but all countries in the region. With Russians they have at leas some sort of control.
The difference between Northern Ireland and Chechnya is that ethnic Chechens make up over 90% of Chechnya's population. Northern Ireland has a population that is majority British Protestant, not Irish.
If killing Bosnian and Albanian Muslims was Yugoslavia's right and sovereign business, I suppose no one had any rights to get involved in freeing Nazi concentration camps? I suppose letting 800,000 Rwandans die in 1994 was needed to maintain Rwanda's sovereignty? I suppose Vietnam should have ignored Pol Pot and let the Cambodian people be exterminated?
So why then you didn't stop Saakashvili, the prezident of Georgia, when he insited about extermination of Abkhazians ad Osetians? If not Russia, Saakashvili (greatly supported by the west world, by the way) would committ more crimes than Miloshevich did. Even EU Commission later had to admit that Georgia initiated that August war. But , western mass media and governments still tell to its people completely contrary things, trying to show Russia as totalirian invader. Why?
Western media was highly against the United States in going to war in Iraq, highly critical of the invasion of Afghanistan. Western media is generally very critical of anyone using excess force. Unless you watch Fox News, you'll find that western media tends to be against most forms of large scale military action. That includes both the war in Iraq and the invasion of Georgia.
However, western "free" mass-media were very 'one-sided' and very subjective showing Russia as evil. Why they didn' tell the truth about Saakashvili? He wasn't angel as well, and it was him wo started all that shit.
Western media was very one-sided on Russia in the Georgia conflict, yes, but no more so than anti-Iraq war, or even anti-Vietnam war. Western media, as I said, tends to be extremely sensitive to high casualty rates, and virtually every news station in the US was critical of the war in Iraq (except FOX news). If you ever watch something like MSNBC's coverage of the Iraq war, it was just as critical to the US as it was to Russia.
The Vietnam war was also HEAVILY criticized in US media, and participated in the massive public opinion against that war in the late 60s and early 70s.
Georgia, to be honest, is Russia's backyard, and NATO intervention in Georgia would be beyond NATO's sphere of influence, and beyond NATO's security interests. An unstable Georgia really wouldn't be any threat to any NATO member unless it were to spill into Turkey. I never agreed with the Bush administration's views on Georgia.
Ok so when the US used flamethrowers, it was not justified. When the Soviets used it, it was justified? Soviets killed "some" civilians? They killed over a million to be exact. American troops in Afghanistan are part of a larger UN-mandated NATO force, including reconstruction teams and police training.
When Soviets used it, it WAS justified. Because their enemies were not human beings, they were fascsts, wo ar no difference from the most dangerous beasts. It WAS justified. If not Soviets, you wouldn't talk now about diversity of the world. If you are Jew or Black, or Asian, you would most pobably exterminated, and if you are White, you would join that fascist beasts.
See here we have a problem.. Stalin killed more people than Hitler ever did. Millions and millions sent to gulags. What makes him better than Hitler? The majority of the wehrmacht were not "beasts" who killed jews on their spare time. The majority of the red army were not beasts who sent people to forced labor camps on their spare time either.
North Korea and Vietnam attempted to unite their countries. You call sending hordes of communist troops into South Korea and South Vietnam to overthrow their governments, and force their people into communism "re-unite"? South Koreans (especially the older generation) are extremely thankful for the help they received from the US and dozens of other countries. South Vietnamese fled Vietnam in the millions after Saigon fell. Those wars were defense, not aggressive invasions.
This is what you are told by your historians and mass-media, who are strongly controlled by your 10% o richs. The truth is much much more complicated. Politics (doesn't matter, totalitarian or "democratic", western or eastern) has nothing to do with moral. Neither US or any western country helped Vietnamese democrats and South Koreans just for free - they had their own (more earthed) reasons. Geopolicy, politics, big gam - you can call it as you like.
I just want to conclude that you are the same cattle as North Koreans are. You just have an outward appearance of freedom, but you, westrners, are also fooled, in more insidious way. Your freedom is just FAKE. I have a great opportunity to see the western life frontline, and yo kow about the communism only from your mass-media, youtube stuff and hollywood movies. You have never seen it for real, so you cannot just generalize and compare.
Thanks god (though I don't him, hehehe), we had this period in our history we are not that much developed in terms of technology, but I can surely say that in terms of principles and ideals we are better than you. We are individual narcissists, we care about ou people and community as well. We know the notion of Motherland. In the bus we always give place to senirs without any warnings about the law requirement to do so. We never send our parents to custodial instittions
We don't make appointments to see our parents. We are more humans. You are just robots madefor achieveing individual goals, that's it. You don't have a notion of Motherland. Even your parents loan you money. You are too dependant on money. In other words, it is called greed. Thats it, in general.
So you're saying that this is a cultural issue, not a political issue. No law in the US says that you can't give your seat to a senior, no law says that your parents should be sent to institutions. No law says anything about how you should live your life. The US is a pile up of people and cultures from every part of the world. My town is predominately East Asian and Latin American, and NONE of them ever send their grandmothers to institutions.
OK. First, about the law that requires to give the front seats to seniors - you can see it in every bus. Secondly, about parents in institutions - US has the highest rate among all other countries, especially if you compare to eastern states. Finally, you sort of agreed that you need to make appointment to meet your parents, because I don't see any arguments :)
Yea but see, you're arguing cultural issues here. You're arguing that your culture is better than contemporary western culture. If I don't have any notion of a motherland, so what? I'll let that be my problem, not yours. I personally wouldn't want my grandmother in an institution, but if my neighbor can't take care of his, then who am I to argue with him? My parents don't live in the US, so i guess yea, I do need to make arrangements to see them ;)
I am not saying that easterners are better. I am just saying that anyone has any right to judge about other countries just from hisor her own perception of the morals. You have your own morals and values, easterners have their own. You, guys, never see what was the life like in the eastrn blok, but you are very quick to judge. Now living in the US, I see that your society is no better than the eastern ones. More spoilt, more greedy, more egoistic if to start cmparing.
I highly doubt too, that any country fighting in Vietnam or Korea were there out of pity for the Vietnamese or Korean people. But, the fact of the matter is, that North Korea invaded South Korea. North Vietnam invaded South Vietnam. The United States, along with dozens of different countries intervened, as they did in Iraq in 1991.
hansjalv, my only problem with blaming the misfortunes on the korean war is that the south had it just as bad as the north during the war. the south is today however, one of the most stable and developed democracies in the world. they are the same people, same ethnicity, same culture and same history. their only difference is their system of government.
Korean people have the right to unify their country by any means. It does not matter by which side. At the moment, it is NK which as the will to do so.
@johnkim100530 : You're saying the 30% of Koreans who live in North Korea have the right to just march into the South and impose their fascist type of government on the 70% of Korean people who live in the south? The South Korean government, and most serious political scientists, see the re-unification of the two Koreas as of today, as completely impossible because the flow of North Korean refugees would completely destabilize the entire peninsula. The South Korean economy would collapse.
NK is the worst example of mans ability to enslave his fellow human beings! No free speech, no free elections, no human rights, no ability for the individual to evolve his own ideas! Only NK elitists and deaf/blind western stalinists can see logic to the totalitarian madness called NK today!!! Long live democracy!
The best defense is an attack? So sure, attack the soul of democracy with a pitiful attacks on a goverments political decision to help a old ally try to stabilize a country after a sad war... I have the right to critize that war, the right to elect another government, those right being ensured by the democratic constitution!
My whole point is, the poor NK people can do nothing like this... They deserve better! NK is the classic example of a cult, this time on a countrywide scale... so sad!
Are you for real!!?? The US has during the past 15 years spared no effort to try to destroy Iraq - and Denmark has very actively helped in that undertaking. Iraq is today in a situation which it will most likely not survive as an independent nation. As for Korea: First your pals in the US bomb Korea to "kingdom come" - and when the outcome of that is a destroyed country, then you have the teremity to blame the victims!!! You should be ashamed of yourself!!!!
I would buy your "bomb Korea to kingdom come" argument, had it not been for South Korea's current status as a developed, first-world country. And calling the DPRK victims.. Come on. North Korea sent hordes and hordes of troops into South Korea, attempting to overthrown the South Korean government. The US had previously refused South Korea weapons out of fear that the South Koreans would attack the north. When North Korea invaded, South Korea was helped by the US and dozens of other nations.
The splitting of Korea into "North Korea" vs. "South Korea was not accomplished by koreans. The splitting of Vietnam into "North Vietnam" vs. "South Vietnam" was not accomplished by the vietnamese. These are very obvious examples of the ancient "divide and rule"-ploy. One might wonder what you a-holes are going to dream up next? Maybe "West Cuba" vs. "East Cuba", after the US Army "liberates" the western part of Cuba...?
Still, the fact of the matter is that you had a communist north in both countries, and a non-communist south in both countries. In the case of Korea, the south, which did not want to be part of a communist north, was overrun, and prompted a response by the United Nations, not a unilateral American "invasion". Ask any South Korean today who invaded South Korea in the 50s. As for Vietnam, there was also a clear separation between the north and the south in terms of politics.
I never voted for Bush, and I do credit his presidency with America's current image around the world. However, our President just won the Nobel Peace Prize, dozens of nations around the world, including Sweden, participate in Afghanistan. We receive more tourists a year than any other country in the world, except France. We receive more immigrants every year than any other country, and we're one of the most ethnically and culturally diverse countries in the world.. Someone must like us.
Although bin Laden is in every way America's "perfect enemy", especially to the Bush administration, I highly doubt he's just simply "spliced together". It doesn't make sense. If he was a made-up enemy, he would have been "caught" before Obama won the 08 election to save Bush's legacy and help McCain.
As for dividing North and South Korea, this was not formally done until the end of the Korean war.. But what gave Kim Il-Sung the right to force one of the worst authoritarian rules on millions of people in the south?
Btw, North and South Vietnam was not divided by the United States. The Geneva conference made the first provisional borders between a "North Vietnam" and a "South Vietnam" in 1954, an agreement which the US didn't even sign.... North Vietnam did however.
For someone who seems to be concerned with human rights, it's funny that you and other commie-fascists show no mercy when it comes to genocide and mass murder of people. Didn't the holocaust teach you that concentration camps and extermination camps are bad?
Haven't you lived long enough to know that fascism, communism and quasi-religious cults tend to end up in genocide and mass murder?
Like a Holocaust-denier, you join the ranks of neo-nazis in praising brutal, fascist dictatorships from the comfort of a western European democracy. Disgusting.
Romanian military equipment?? Roman Disel? (3:17) :))) I drove one like this, :))), now i am proud, i don't think that i see our truck in another country that Romania, anyway they must be stupid to waist money on this "great" truck, if they want i give them my car(dacia 1310 - don't start the enginee :))) for a communist hot cick :>
Sorry for grammatical mistakes, my english is very bad :D
That's okay gabi, your English is better than my Romanian. Especially since I don't speak Romanian (I only learned to speak Japanese). From a native English speaker, I think you did really well. I wish you the best :)!
WTF??? Why the fuck do those generals have so many medals? In what fucking war did they fight? Do they actually have a medal for every occasion...the general took a shit! i know, let's give him a medal. Kim you're ill man, eat shit and die communist bastard. This video is utter crap!
Do you remember that joke about Brezhnev? If he got eaten by a crocodile, the poor animal would s**t itself with medals all week. Imagine the poor beast in N. Korea :)
This is the 1001 time I've heard this guy speaking. Why is always sounding like is up to run to the toilet? It's like the guy isn't able to speak without relaxing his butt. Disturbing propaganda.
North Korean army is a joke; they have zero combat experience, basically no food, no fuel, their troops are malnourished and poor, your average NK basic private would probably flee if faced with the US Army or the ROK Army once they realise they're going to get absolutely crushed.
NATO was never in Vietnam. The US, Australia, New Zealand and South Korea were in Vietnam and neither ever never lost a single battle to the VC or NVA. You can thank western media for the American pullout of Vietnam.
what these morons fail to understand by posting crap & showing videos of nk is that every country that sees it is now more determined than ever never to become like them , putting this on you tube is a poor attempt, to brain wash a far more educated world, , usa , EU, china, russia, everywhere can see thru this as pure nonsense, its like flipping a channel on t.v. & the three stooges are on , its a funny bunch of videos, just look at this laughable attempt at brainwashing
Damn! I'd relish the day when the North collapses; then all those starving North Koreans would walk down South and realize what they've been missing all these years ! Great Leader my ass!
I can't understand Korean...but it's a safe bet the narrator is bragging how under the wise and benevolent guidance (absolute rule) of Kim Il-Sung, North Korea (the world's largest cult commune) rose from the ashes of the 1950-3 war to become a paradise on Earth (where every adult has to wear a badge with the dictator's face and 200,000 people are in labour camps). And the 1.5 million Army is poised to liberate (invade) the South,
Army is impressive in quantity, not in quality. Look at the old MIG-21 jets (maiden flight in 1956) and the old (german made) MAN trucks at 3:17 (or are these MAN-based Rumanian Roman-trucks?).
That commentating f*cker - is he experiencing an orgasm while reporting this crap?? Geez! I'd love to know what he is talking about - you know what? But to do that over a comment making the point that NK has turned into a countrywide mad cult where the real victims are the People of NK, is simply out of line. I dont blaim the NK people, I blaim a mad regime whom' only interest is their personal survival and power!

I blame the misfortunes of the korean people on the korean war. To not do that would be to disregard history, to put it mildly.

Yep...those South Koreans have got it real tough :) We couldn't possibly blame the plight of the PDRK on the polit bureau, could we? LOL.

Yeah, and the Vietnam War was fought to save the world for Jesus. Armies from western countries are always liberators, at least as seen on TV.
hansjalv 2 years ago
Fuck you with your liberating armies, brainwashed idiot. So called western armies are fucking aggressive tools of the 10% of rich who rule 90% of you, looser. And fuck your Jesus and your religion. And you lost the war in Vietnam, lost to a very small tiny Vietnamese army, who fucked your ass...
tomleeza 2 years ago
You've got me wrong, Tom. I was trying to be ironic in my previous post. I'm with you.
hansjalv 2 years ago
Hehehe... sorry. Now I see your humor.
tomleeza 2 years ago
Tiny Vietnamese army..? Ho Chi Minh himself acknowledge that the only way to beat back the Americans and South Vietnamese was to send hordes and hordes and hordes of cannon fodder. That's the strength of communist armies, people aren't worth anything, so you can just keep sending people to their deaths. Eventually, when you've caused enough to damage, the democracy will decide it's time to pull out. That's what happened in Vietnam. Ho Chi Minh knew it, so should you.
jwh30385 2 years ago
So, you can kiss my and Ho Chi Min's curly asses. F[]ck, your democracy can suck my d[]ck. Your democracy used weapons of mass destructions (such as flame-throwers and toxic gases) against cvilians, against children, against wome, so you have nothing to be proud of your so-called democracy. No any communist country ever raised against any western country, it's you, westerners came without any invitations and with weapons to Vietnam, Korea, Yugoslavia. So, is this your praised democracy?
tomleeza 2 years ago
I don't defend the use of these weapons. Ever. But democracies are by far not the only users. The Soviet union used flame throwers against the Germans, used tons and tons and tons of napalm and incendiaries against Afghan civilians and villages. South Vietnam was invaded by North Vietnam, South Korea was invaded by North Korea (Look at north and south today), and Milosevic invited NATO to come knocking when he started slaughtering and butchering Muslim civilians in Bosnia and Serbia.
jwh30385 2 years ago
You know, Soviets did a very right thing when they used flame throwers against Wehrmacht, because Wehrmacht did even much worser things to Soviets. In Afganistan Soviets killed some civilians, but at the same time Soviet were BUILDING schools, plants and roads there. Americans are not building anything in Afganistan now - they cannot even control Afgans except some small territory around Kabul. North Korea and Vietnam attempted to unite their countries.
tomleeza 2 years ago
As for Yugoslvia, according to NATO charter it well known that NATO can bring military missions only if there is a threat to its member countries. Yugoslavia had no threat to Nany NATO country, so it was pure invasion. As for killing its people - it was their souvereign business, none had any rights to involve into it. Look at Britain, they are also exterminating Irsih people even now - so, why you Europpean democracy doesn't work in this case? Or Spain government, killing Basks?
tomleeza 2 years ago
I may also remind you about Guantanamo! XXI century, the fluorishing democracy of the West raping, humiliating and killing prisoners-of-war in its prisons! Don't be blind, OK. Your democracy - is just a big lie, sold to you by your oligarchs. Don't be a brainwashed stupid cattle. I am not saying that totalitarism is good - but its a bullshit that your democracy is better. Its just the same shit, with the onl exception: they give you a "vision" of freedom, which in reality is just a BIG LIE!
tomleeza 2 years ago
Here's the difference between the west and authoritarian regimes. I am aware that my freedoms are limited. I have credit agencies harassing me, I get sugar coated news, and I'm ruled by consumerism. Thank you, I'd rather face those problems than have any government tell me what I can say and can't say, where I can go and not go, what I can do and not do.
jwh30385 2 years ago
You are just a consumer, that's right. That's what you all westerners are. I compare people of the west and east - I have a great opportunity to see i here, in the land of "democracy". Your individualism brings to loneliness, your churches are anotehr instruments of brainwashing, and yourmass-media is another "propaganda" tool (which is very subjective).
tomleeza 2 years ago
I agree, brainwashing happens in all societies. BUT, I am free to criticize my government, I'm free to do whatever I want with my time. No one can tell me what to do or what not to do. If i don't want to work, no one forces me (I'll be a bum, yes). If I want to sit in the grass all day and count straws of grass, I can. I choose to watch whichever media I want. I choose to go to whatever church I want. I choose to be a consumer. Try "choosing" anything in North Korea.
jwh30385 2 years ago

Remember, World War 1 started in that area.
jwh30385 2 years ago
Both Northern Ireland and Basks want independence, why you just dn't give them it? Or people should look at this issue from the another angle than they look at Russian Chechnya? Why, when it comes to Russia, chechen terrorists become freedom fighters, and when it comes to Irish or Bask freedom fighters, they become terrorists? What was the Iraq's threat to the west? Your goverments told you that Iraq has weapons of mass destruction, but in fact it turned out to be a big LIE!
tomleeza 2 years ago
On Iraq, I agree. I never voted for Bush, the man was a disgrace to this country. As for giving independence to anyone who wants it.. Irish freedom fighters? Ireland is a sovereign nation, the Irish are pissed off about Northern Ireland, which is predominately populated by British protestants, not Irish Catholics. If any region that wanted independence got it, most countries would crumble. The majority of the population of the Basque region too, are not ethnic Basques.
jwh30385 2 years ago
And wha about Russian Chechnya? You didn't say anything about it?
tomleeza 2 years ago
I never understood why on earth Chechnya should be part of Russia to be honest. But I do know once Russia gives Chechnya independence, Dagestan, Ingushetia and every other Russian federal subject with a hint of nationalism is going to want independence. If they actually held a referendum over it though, I don't see why an area that is barely Russian, with different language and religion should remain part of Russia.
jwh30385 2 years ago
It was a part of Russia since 17th century. If Chechnya gets independence, its going to be as you said "crumble". Their economy would be based on human trafficking, drugs and spread of terrorism. Indepedent Chechnya would threaten not only Russia, but all countries in the region. With Russians they have at leas some sort of control.
tomleeza 2 years ago
The difference between Northern Ireland and Chechnya is that ethnic Chechens make up over 90% of Chechnya's population. Northern Ireland has a population that is majority British Protestant, not Irish.
jwh30385 2 years ago
If killing Bosnian and Albanian Muslims was Yugoslavia's right and sovereign business, I suppose no one had any rights to get involved in freeing Nazi concentration camps? I suppose letting 800,000 Rwandans die in 1994 was needed to maintain Rwanda's sovereignty? I suppose Vietnam should have ignored Pol Pot and let the Cambodian people be exterminated?
jwh30385 2 years ago
So why then you didn't stop Saakashvili, the prezident of Georgia, when he insited about extermination of Abkhazians ad Osetians? If not Russia, Saakashvili (greatly supported by the west world, by the way) would committ more crimes than Miloshevich did. Even EU Commission later had to admit that Georgia initiated that August war. But , western mass media and governments still tell to its people completely contrary things, trying to show Russia as totalirian invader. Why?
tomleeza 2 years ago
Western media was highly against the United States in going to war in Iraq, highly critical of the invasion of Afghanistan. Western media is generally very critical of anyone using excess force. Unless you watch Fox News, you'll find that western media tends to be against most forms of large scale military action. That includes both the war in Iraq and the invasion of Georgia.
jwh30385 2 years ago
However, western "free" mass-media were very 'one-sided' and very subjective showing Russia as evil. Why they didn' tell the truth about Saakashvili? He wasn't angel as well, and it was him wo started all that shit.
tomleeza 2 years ago
Western media was very one-sided on Russia in the Georgia conflict, yes, but no more so than anti-Iraq war, or even anti-Vietnam war. Western media, as I said, tends to be extremely sensitive to high casualty rates, and virtually every news station in the US was critical of the war in Iraq (except FOX news). If you ever watch something like MSNBC's coverage of the Iraq war, it was just as critical to the US as it was to Russia.
jwh30385 2 years ago
The Vietnam war was also HEAVILY criticized in US media, and participated in the massive public opinion against that war in the late 60s and early 70s.
jwh30385 2 years ago
Georgia, to be honest, is Russia's backyard, and NATO intervention in Georgia would be beyond NATO's sphere of influence, and beyond NATO's security interests. An unstable Georgia really wouldn't be any threat to any NATO member unless it were to spill into Turkey. I never agreed with the Bush administration's views on Georgia.
jwh30385 2 years ago
Ok so when the US used flamethrowers, it was not justified. When the Soviets used it, it was justified? Soviets killed "some" civilians? They killed over a million to be exact. American troops in Afghanistan are part of a larger UN-mandated NATO force, including reconstruction teams and police training.
jwh30385 2 years ago
When Soviets used it, it WAS justified. Because their enemies were not human beings, they were fascsts, wo ar no difference from the most dangerous beasts. It WAS justified. If not Soviets, you wouldn't talk now about diversity of the world. If you are Jew or Black, or Asian, you would most pobably exterminated, and if you are White, you would join that fascist beasts.
tomleeza 2 years ago
See here we have a problem.. Stalin killed more people than Hitler ever did. Millions and millions sent to gulags. What makes him better than Hitler? The majority of the wehrmacht were not "beasts" who killed jews on their spare time. The majority of the red army were not beasts who sent people to forced labor camps on their spare time either.
jwh30385 2 years ago
North Korea and Vietnam attempted to unite their countries. You call sending hordes of communist troops into South Korea and South Vietnam to overthrow their governments, and force their people into communism "re-unite"? South Koreans (especially the older generation) are extremely thankful for the help they received from the US and dozens of other countries. South Vietnamese fled Vietnam in the millions after Saigon fell. Those wars were defense, not aggressive invasions.
jwh30385 2 years ago
This is what you are told by your historians and mass-media, who are strongly controlled by your 10% o richs. The truth is much much more complicated. Politics (doesn't matter, totalitarian or "democratic", western or eastern) has nothing to do with moral. Neither US or any western country helped Vietnamese democrats and South Koreans just for free - they had their own (more earthed) reasons. Geopolicy, politics, big gam - you can call it as you like.
tomleeza 2 years ago
I just want to conclude that you are the same cattle as North Koreans are. You just have an outward appearance of freedom, but you, westrners, are also fooled, in more insidious way. Your freedom is just FAKE. I have a great opportunity to see the western life frontline, and yo kow about the communism only from your mass-media, youtube stuff and hollywood movies. You have never seen it for real, so you cannot just generalize and compare.
tomleeza 2 years ago
And you cannot judge.
We never send our parents to custodial instittions
tomleeza 2 years ago
We don't make appointments to see our parents. We are more humans. You are just robots madefor achieveing individual goals, that's it. You don't have a notion of Motherland. Even your parents loan you money. You are too dependant on money. In other words, it is called greed. Thats it, in general.
tomleeza 2 years ago
So you're saying that this is a cultural issue, not a political issue. No law in the US says that you can't give your seat to a senior, no law says that your parents should be sent to institutions. No law says anything about how you should live your life. The US is a pile up of people and cultures from every part of the world. My town is predominately East Asian and Latin American, and NONE of them ever send their grandmothers to institutions.
jwh30385 2 years ago
OK. First, about the law that requires to give the front seats to seniors - you can see it in every bus. Secondly, about parents in institutions - US has the highest rate among all other countries, especially if you compare to eastern states. Finally, you sort of agreed that you need to make appointment to meet your parents, because I don't see any arguments :)
tomleeza 2 years ago
Yea but see, you're arguing cultural issues here. You're arguing that your culture is better than contemporary western culture. If I don't have any notion of a motherland, so what? I'll let that be my problem, not yours. I personally wouldn't want my grandmother in an institution, but if my neighbor can't take care of his, then who am I to argue with him? My parents don't live in the US, so i guess yea, I do need to make arrangements to see them ;)
jwh30385 2 years ago
I am not saying that easterners are better. I am just saying that anyone has any right to judge about other countries just from hisor her own perception of the morals. You have your own morals and values, easterners have their own. You, guys, never see what was the life like in the eastrn blok, but you are very quick to judge. Now living in the US, I see that your society is no better than the eastern ones. More spoilt, more greedy, more egoistic if to start cmparing.
tomleeza 2 years ago
I highly doubt too, that any country fighting in Vietnam or Korea were there out of pity for the Vietnamese or Korean people. But, the fact of the matter is, that North Korea invaded South Korea. North Vietnam invaded South Vietnam. The United States, along with dozens of different countries intervened, as they did in Iraq in 1991.
jwh30385 2 years ago
hansjalv, my only problem with blaming the misfortunes on the korean war is that the south had it just as bad as the north during the war. the south is today however, one of the most stable and developed democracies in the world. they are the same people, same ethnicity, same culture and same history. their only difference is their system of government.
jwh30385 2 years ago
@jwh30385
Korean people have the right to unify their country by any means. It does not matter by which side. At the moment, it is NK which as the will to do so.
johnkim100530 1 year ago
@johnkim100530 : You're saying the 30% of Koreans who live in North Korea have the right to just march into the South and impose their fascist type of government on the 70% of Korean people who live in the south? The South Korean government, and most serious political scientists, see the re-unification of the two Koreas as of today, as completely impossible because the flow of North Korean refugees would completely destabilize the entire peninsula. The South Korean economy would collapse.
jwh30385 1 year ago
NK is the worst example of mans ability to enslave his fellow human beings! No free speech, no free elections, no human rights, no ability for the individual to evolve his own ideas! Only NK elitists and deaf/blind western stalinists can see logic to the totalitarian madness called NK today!!! Long live democracy!
neb32a 2 years ago
I'm sure that's why Denmark has been assisting mass murders of civilians in Iraq; to ensure the right of iraqis "... to evolve their own ideas"??
hansjalv 2 years ago
The best defense is an attack? So sure, attack the soul of democracy with a pitiful attacks on a goverments political decision to help a old ally try to stabilize a country after a sad war... I have the right to critize that war, the right to elect another government, those right being ensured by the democratic constitution!
My whole point is, the poor NK people can do nothing like this... They deserve better! NK is the classic example of a cult, this time on a countrywide scale... so sad!
neb32a 2 years ago
Are you for real!!?? The US has during the past 15 years spared no effort to try to destroy Iraq - and Denmark has very actively helped in that undertaking. Iraq is today in a situation which it will most likely not survive as an independent nation. As for Korea: First your pals in the US bomb Korea to "kingdom come" - and when the outcome of that is a destroyed country, then you have the teremity to blame the victims!!! You should be ashamed of yourself!!!!
hansjalv 2 years ago
I would buy your "bomb Korea to kingdom come" argument, had it not been for South Korea's current status as a developed, first-world country. And calling the DPRK victims.. Come on. North Korea sent hordes and hordes of troops into South Korea, attempting to overthrown the South Korean government. The US had previously refused South Korea weapons out of fear that the South Koreans would attack the north. When North Korea invaded, South Korea was helped by the US and dozens of other nations.
jwh30385 2 years ago
@jwh30385
"East Cuba", after the US Army "liberates" the western part of Cuba...?
hansjalv 2 years ago
Still, the fact of the matter is that you had a communist north in both countries, and a non-communist south in both countries. In the case of Korea, the south, which did not want to be part of a communist north, was overrun, and prompted a response by the United Nations, not a unilateral American "invasion". Ask any South Korean today who invaded South Korea in the 50s. As for Vietnam, there was also a clear separation between the north and the south in terms of politics.
jwh30385 2 years ago
@jwh30385
"... ask any South Korean...". Why don't you ask the 95% of humanity that lives outside US borders what they think of the United States of America?

However, our President just won the Nobel Peace Prize, dozens of nations around the world, including Sweden, participate in Afghanistan.

If he was a made-up enemy, he would have been "caught" before Obama won the 08 election to save Bush's legacy and help McCain.
jwh30385 2 years ago
As for dividing North and South Korea, this was not formally done until the end of the Korean war.. But what gave Kim Il-Sung the right to force one of the worst authoritarian rules on millions of people in the south?
jwh30385 2 years ago
Btw, North and South Vietnam was not divided by the United States. The Geneva conference made the first provisional borders between a "North Vietnam" and a "South Vietnam" in 1954, an agreement which the US didn't even sign.... North Vietnam did however.
