Not putting this down but you only ran a 11.9 with a SC 331?? When I was all motor 302 with HCI I ran a 12.6 and then I put 15 pounds to that and ran 11.03 on a stock bottom end 302....

I fixed that problem and went back the next year with some ET Streets and ran an 11.45, around 12.5 lbs. boost. The car is pretty heavy too, 3550 lbs w/driver, and is not set up as a drag racing car and still has ac

Glenn, how much boost are you running? I have a DSS 331 stroker in a 94 and only put down 332 rwhp w/stock pulley. Its got a trick flow intake , e-cam,edelbrock performer rpm heads and the usual add on. I was dissappointed by the numbers and need to up the boost on the motor .Def. low compression needs some more boost!
@gpatrick52 im not gonna bash DSS but I know someone who built the top end of his 302 and when the bottom end went, he replaced it with a DSS sportsman block and it made less. I purchased my 331 from CHP (Coast High Performance) I havent put it in yet but I hear good things...
12.5# of boost. I bumped the timing a bit and had 100 octane, probablly close to 520 hp at the wheels, as the regular pump gas tune was 488 at the wheels
@gpatrick52 the e-cam is tiny for your set-up. What injectors are you using? MAF is properly set up? How big is your fuel pump? Headers? You should be making that power n/a with the 331 + h/c/i!

I know of a 5.0 that was stroked to a 331,(DSS Racing he siaid) he said it has gt40 heads, some kind of real agressive cam, bbk headers, msd igntion, 70mm throttle body, some edlebrock upper and lower intake, msd igntion, stock tranny, and wheels...225 crap tires. Also he siad the compression was low roughly about9ish. What is a ball park on the 1/4 mile
Damn this makes me feel good about my '89 fox. on a bone stock shortblock, stock cam, edelbrock performer heads/intake manifold, bbk LT's, 3.55's and spraying a 125. I made a 1320 run at 118 mph.. Very nice setup you have there though. I'm still jealous :)

It's a 331 DSS motor, but is IS still the stock Ford block. They can handle 525 at the wheels if tuned SAFELY, that's about it.
