  • I think you should've gone with a metal slide.

  • @c4r50n1

    I did..

  • @BottleneckJohn That's green plastic/

  • @c4r50n1

The green one is an lead crystal glass ULTIMATE from Diamond Bottlenecks and at around 0:30 I go for a metal slide from Big Heart Slides...

  • @BottleneckJohn The first time I watched the video it wasn't this long...the fuck?

  • Nice, I love the sound.

  • It i so cool that it makes me happy.

  • @konteee

    That makes me happy!!

  • steam punk :D

  • @AkaNomad00paranoid What the hell is wrong with you?

  • @AkaNomad00paranoid

    Sure is!!

  • If you don't mind saying, how much do these guitars sell for around?

  • Awesome sound man! But it looks like BottleneckJohn isn't playing with a bottleneck slide. Haha. Keep that blues coming!!

  • Pretty cool. I'm surprised that as of now there's no dislikes. There's usually atleast 1 idiot that dislikes videos for no particular reason.

  • "Rusty" looks extremely cool and sounds excellent... great playing... :-)

  • awesome sound, even thrue your cam mic! 1:47 sounds a bit like an old barrelhouse piano. great stuff John!

  • @DrSchlauf

    Thanks doc!

  • I love it..

  • Wonderfull guitar, and as always, you are so good to play...

You realy got the Blues,it's make me travelling to Mississippi when I watch your videos...

  • GREAT LOW END - NICE RING

    CHK MINE YOUTUBE SHAMUS442009

    THANKS SHAMUS

  • did you buy it lookin like that, or is it an effect of the blues?

  • @dvdsmlprstylr

This was a one-off.. The aging technique used went a bit too far and ended up like this. Then the plating company couldn't exactly reproduce it again!

  • @BottleneckJohn ahh cool, looks good as it is, didn't go too far at all.

How long have you been playing and how did you learn?

  • @dvdsmlprstylr

I agree, it looks awesome! Been playing slide since 2004, just learning by ear..

  • @BottleneckJohn wow ok, thanks. Just one more thing... do you know chords/the names of them/ (octaves - stuff like that) ?

    Sorry about all these questions.

  • @dvdsmlprstylr

No I don't know any theory, I just play, if it sounds right it probably is right, haha!

  • @BottleneckJohn cool thanks.

  • @BottleneckJohn you sir, are a talent!

  • @konteee

    Thanks, Kontee!!!

  • Well.... Ol Rusty sounds bloody great !!

Age and playing in is something you can't buy new.

    Nice playing too.

  • Hey man, why are the strings so far away from the fret board on those things?

  • @MrWhale1000

Totally acoustic! These guitars are very loud compared to normal acoustic wood guitars.

  • that thing sounds alot like my 36 duolian,, kinda looks like it too,ha ha . very cool videos keep it up.

  • thats one nice guitar. sounds alot like my 36 duolian. really like your videos

  • Nice sound. Some people claim that when sitting on a couch it absorbs some of the tone, and it makes a difference to one's postire also to the tone when sitting in a chair.

  • love your playing... and i dont even like that kinda stuff that much

  • @Malsh90ToPresent

Haha, that's great. Good music knows no borders then!! I'm happy you like it!

    Thanks!

  • you just made me appetite in buying on of these....!!!!!....damn music is an expensive hobby...:(

  • @Bottleneckjohn how much did Ol'rusty cost? I love the way it sounds.

  • Thanks ?John, I have one of those National Duolian reproductions & keep it in open C. I love that tuning. Yours has a sweeter tone, mine has a lot of throat and sort of growls. I guess that's the difference in steel & Brass. I contacted the dealer closest to me in the U.S. to price one like yours and the Stager with the cut out & hum-bucker. I guess that's my next venture. Did you sand back that finish yourself? I didn't see any like yours on the site. Thanks again!! Very Nice.

  • Hey, you're most welcome!!

My guitar is a "one-off", this finish can't be ordered or maybe even replicated.. I think this was a lucky mis-hap in the finishing work-shop, LoL!!

I think Amistar have been asked many times to make this finish but I hear it can't be done..

But there's always a way to make the relic process yourself!!!

Anyhow, good luck finding your Amistar!!!

  • Hey John, is this straight out of the box or are you using a different brand cone? Hell of a tone you got going there Man. Do you mind sharing the tuning you are using?

  • Hey!

This is as straight outta the box it can get.. Nothing's changed or replaced, hardly even the strings, haha!!

IMHO, Amistar has really, really nailed the vintage tone in their singlecones, very close to a real National from the 1920/30's... Very smooth and mellow compared to some other brands..

    Tuning here is open C..

And it's loud too, there's a clip from a tour in Slovakia with this guitar as a video reply, check it out..

I'm faaar away from the camera, LoL!!

  • very nice! for a moment I thought that i was in Mississippi! :) sound is cool

  • Thanks!!

This is from the Lit delta in Sweden, haha!!

  • what a wonderful sound,nice playin too

  • Thanks, I love the sound too. It's a nice guitar!!

  • can you only buy that kind of guitar in the states?

  • I want that axe! Someday :)

  • Nice guitar!!! Is the fretboard flat or radiused?

  • Thanks! Slightly radiused..

  • is it brass body john ..? or steel

  • This is brass.

  • ..............man thats just awsome.........

  • Thanks!

    It's a wonderful instrument indeed!!!

  • Good Stuff john Ya Got The Blues Brother Peace

  • Thanks, it really does sound nice this one!!

    Vintage tone, great "honk" LoL!!

  • Thanks a lot MrGeorge!!

You're a great fan, good to have you here watching all my clips!!!

    Stay tuned...

    BJ

  • Great sound saw it in one of your videos before. It sounds kinda different than the original resonator guitars. Yeah it is bassy and it sort of sounds like an Indian sitarish sound.

  • Yeah, this one has a great sound!

Amistar got their singlecones sounding very much like the original 1930's Nationals.

It has a "honk" in the tone that many other modern copies can't produce.

I've been using this a lot since I got it in 2005 in Prague at the Amistar factory!!

  • What did it cost you when you bought it in Prague?
