  • His tone reminds me of a jazz flute since it's so light, but at the same time it's very powerful and bassy (since it is a bass...). Very unique, and a hell of a video!

  • a true innovator with a sound like no other bassist. how refreshing to hear someone who is not copying everyone else.

  • Very inspiring bass playing!Makes you hear the bass in a brand new way. Great group!

  • A truly gifted musician as well as composer and conductor. Bravo!

  • he also played in national symphony in dc and conducted the moscow phil... check him out at his site

  • Amazing bass playing!...The ability to show a brand new voice on the acoustic bass. Great group also!

  • Is this the same David Goldblatt who was Scott Kinsey's predecessor in Tribal Tech, the brilliant Fusion band that was together between 1986-2000?

  • In his mid-70's DC area group, he had a guy playing electric bass so he could just stick to the bowing.

  • Plumeri´s also a great film composer.

On top of that, a true gentleman.

  • I've heard lots of great arco jazz stuff, but this is so different. Very cool.

  • For me, its not about being to move one's hands around quickly. Its about what he plays and how well he plays it.

The motivic development. The ability to play descending ideas fluidly, then develop them, ascending and descending.

I am talking about the fact that what we are hearing is the mind of a great orchestral composer, immediately expressed through virtuoso technique, in jazz.

No simple memorized bop licks, here. No mere bass virtuoso.

  • I've had the honor and pleasure of playing many gigs for the last 15 years or so with this awesome bassist. The first time we played together and he pulled out the bow for a solo, i was floored! Even now it is just as amazing.

  • Great Trio! Check out the Terry Plumeri - Blue In Green CD. It's full of great playing from this trio and recorded beautifully!

  • Thru my cheezy computer speakers, the early part of the intro sounded like an alto sax. Stupid personal observations aside, WOW! What intonation!

  • Terry Plumeri's work is groundbreaking. Nobody else has ever played with such freedom, arco, in jazz. He's not playing "licks", he's singing developing ideas through the bass.

  • Terry Plumeri's music is groundbreaking. Total freedom on the instrument. As inspiring as it gets...

  • Thats Amazing

  • I love the way he makes the bass sound. It's like someone singing through the sound of the bass.

  • Great bass playing! A voice like no other bassist!
