@peanutbuttergtr lol because it is auto tuned? The whole dvd was? You can tell when the voice changes pitch at some parts. A human voice wouldnt smooth it out. Auto tune over laps the pitch. Human voice is 1 then 3. Auto tune goes from 1, 2, 3.

Producing really clues you in to the..."tricks of the trade" every singer uses pitch correction on some level

not because they can't sing (although some...yeah...) but to maintain clean and polished vocals. SAme reason you use compression on vocals

In a live context for some its an in the event of an emergency safety net type deal...and for some (Cove...) its a necessity

Here's the official statement from their guitarist Beau: "After 5 years with Cove, we have decided to part ways. So it will be a new experience for us, not knowing what to expect in the vocal dept, who will replace him, or if we will even find a replacement this century. Reber was asked to leave due to his diminishing stage performance and vocal abilities." So obiously the band gave a fuck...

what the crowd heard wasnt auto-tuned im sure. they cleaned it up in post-production just like every other bands DVD. especially blink182 and taking back sunday. all three of these bands i LOVE but can also admit to their use of auto-tune. everyone uses pitch correction guys, since the 60's, they just dont like to talk about it, which is understandable. (run-on sentence WIN)

You a music producer? Ask a producer about auto tune, it'll scare you the amount it's used. You know none of the drums (apart from cymbals) are real on a standard metal record. They're all switched using triggers to play heavily EQ'd samples. It's the way of the world. Don't believe anything you hear unless you hear it first hand.
