Then he plays through a tonebone in to a TT, which doesn't answer the question. We already knew the tonebone can do metal, but we still don't know (from this video at least) if the tiny terror can in fact do metal. I think metal heads generally avoid EL84 amps, except for a certain style of old-school metal that's just called "classic rock" now. With my submini tube boost, I get by playing heavy stuff on a classic 30, but it won't make tight "chug" like KT88s.
@punkeratheart I know Rob used to endorse Orange amps but I must also say that every demo I've seen on youtube sounded awful, I think his demos were the worst sounding boxy dull midrangy tones, like the amp was under 10 blankets...and these amps sound amazing but not when Rob demos them :)
@stevoe1000 UNLESS you sync high-quality audio with vid, or just put the audio with a picture, and record the audio of the demo with a mic'ed cab, it will only sound like a cheesy camera mic.......except those new (expensive) digital cameras that come with a built-in stereo condenser, but Chappers is more about showing off his shredding ability, not making a high-quality demo. His videos look like reality TV clips, in the car on the way to the Marshall factory and what-not.
u bought a practice amp,if course its not gonna sound like 3000$ in my opinion this brand of amp has a better tone, its fat heavy and its perfect with leads,
200w Thunderverb! 7 and 8-strings sound sooo good on this head, only thing better is a Diezel....I love my Tiny and Dual Terrors for jamming around in stereo...Cant wait to pick up the OPC in June!
orange is really proud of their entry level head. i'm gonna go out on a limb here, but if i were to play metal i'd take a solid state line 6 head over this one. the tiny terror just sounds..tiny. not metal at all.
@simpleheartedskater No, it doesn't sound tiny, its sounds thick and ballsy. It's this really cool thing called tone. You wouldn't know that seeing as you play through a Line 6.
Anyway, this is really cool oldschool stoner metal sound. Reminds me of The Sword!
@AlexDeMars123 Damn right love some stoner sounds, That's why i love orange but if you compare this to any other orange it does sound slightly tinny only when side by side though= I agree with you
im diggin the new sideways headbang
