  • Doug Flutie proved he could play in any Football League

  • he would have been a great qb in the NFL if he was given a real chance

  • At Doug Flutie's size he had to be mobile to survive.

  • I used to go to Generals games when Mike Phipps QB'd and then Doug Flutie. Great memories.

  • @jcmainman would that be Brian Sipe instead? who in the heck is Mike Phipps?

  • @scrambang

Bobby Scott, who was Archie Manning's back up, was the Generals first QB, followed by Brian Sipe, followed by Doug Flutie.

For the record, Mike Phipps was a long time back up QB in the NFL, who played for Cleveland (Until he was displaced by Sipe) and finished his career as Bob Avenelli's back up in Chicago.

  • I miss the USFL! I live in Pittsburgh, but our Maulers really sucked! The Gamblers were one of my favorite teams and had great players like Jim Kelly, Richard Johnson, Todd Fowler and Kiki DeAyla.
