  • This is when England was England....... *sigh*

  • Very moving theme. . . . I don't know why

Love the theme, loved the show.

I was about 15 years old, the world starting to make sense.

    You all know what I mean . . . . adolescense

  • the best brookside theme tune by far. brings back memories of sitting in my bedroom playing on my bbc micro watching brooky!

  • who made this music, it sounds like vangelis or jarre..

  • This sounds very similar to Jean Michel Jarre's Equinoxe pt V / VIII. I wonder if it was ripped off, or a coincidence.

  • by far the best of the brookside themes

  • This is a much nicer version than the later version, softer and 'brighter' sounding. the later (1991-2002) version has a much harder and quite dreary sound to it. Having said that, all the versions are rather downbeat in tone.

  • Sounds a lot ike Vangelis.

  • David Roylance (composer and performer of this track) was a true pioneer of getting early synthesiser work out to the general public.

  • Cool. Anyway I could download this?

  • @garethparr
