I went to Sally's tonight...I picked the kit up!!! Love it:') Thank You for such an Informative Video!!!! I used the tips it came with because the extreme smile tips didn't fit rt on me lol Thanks again:')
great video! Just wondering if you ever found that when your nails get wet or exposed to cleaning supplies it gets soft again and goes every all over cuticle? suggestions ...
Oh my goodness thank you so much for posting this. I just had a bad experience at the nail salon. Do you still recommend this? Can you please do a refill tutorial. I'm thinking that I never want to go back to a nail salon. You can check out my video or I'll just post a link here if you don't mind. I'm so getting this kit now. Seriously, thank you for taking the time to post this :)
Have your nails become weak from the gel ? I really want to start using gel on my nails since they peel but I dont want them to become really weak and flimsy.
hi i was wondering what do you do when your nails start growing out do you remove the nail gel and do the process all over or you just fill in the part that has grown?
They are basically the same kind of kit. same materials except the Quick dip adds an additional step of dipping nails in the included container of acrylic and tapping off the excess then adding more of the resin glue...then buffing...can get a bit messy....but some like it for a bit of added strength
Picked this kit up at Sally's, loved the vid! :) My nails looked and turned out great, I got my nails done at a salon at Walmart and stupidly paid $35 for a gel full set (i was in a hurry) the previous week, this kit lasted longer and was less expensive lol. I'm gonna do my own nails from now on.
If you do more than one coat, do you "cure" each coat in between, or just cure after you've done all coats? It seems like it would be sticky if you didn't cure each coat one at a time....
Hi PlatinumLuvXoXo! i just purchase the kit and i want to put some nail art on my nails, like flower stickers or small pearls on there, so i was wondering if i should put put an extra layer of the gel on top of everything or should i just use reg top coat ? BTW i like your video, it got me interested to buy the kit =)

Hi, I did this last night and found that my brush hardened immediately after doing the first nail. Did this happen to you as well? Any solutions? Thank you :)
I bought the light less gel kit a week ago the same exact one and so far so good. I love it!!!!! It has been about a week and they look great no lifting and no cracking.. I will never go back to acrylics again...
okay, so I got this kit because my nails are cracking and splitting and I got sick of pain and ugliness, haha. The instruction sheet i got for this was woefully inadequate. I didn't even think of multiple coats until I realized just how much the applicator sucked. Do you do anything between coats of gel? Also, in less than 24 hrs most of my nails are crazed with little cracks all over the bed. Did you have this prob?
Nice DIY video but I noticed when you were applying the tip and squeezing that you were touching the nail plate. I'd avoid that because the natural oils that your fingers produce will deposit onto your nail plate and may cause lifting.
@PlatinumLuvXoXo I actually did buy this and it works good. I also incorporate the IBD 5-Second Brush-On Gel Resin with every other coat. But it really burns the eys if you get too close.
@phattygirl1079 Awww..thanks! I love that style. I will do a tutorial on it next week because i think i'm going to do it again. The hair i used was Outre Batik Deep Wave. Underneath? Well the sides are braided up and the hair runs down the middle. It's like a faux hawk EXCEPT that I did it so that i could have a lot of hair on one side only if i want. Check my vids in the next two days. I'm gona post a hair montage vid.
love the nails i started to get dat kit few days ago but wasnt so sure bout it now i seen ur vid im goin bak and get it but 1 ? do da nails last long at least 2wks or more
@tippdabest The nails will last as long as you take care of them and/or apply them carefullly. I've learned that it's a good idea to use a primer as a base, and to apply a thick enough layer of gel. That helps alot - along with washing dishes with gloves, not using nails to pick up objects, etc. Thx for watchin :-)
Quick question about removal. How easy is it to remove the gel after a couple of weeks? Do you use non- or regular acetone remover? I have heard the the regular UV light gel nails are a pain to remove. Thanks!
@iclickpix They are soooooo easy to remove! I just soak each nail in acetone remover in a glass jar..and they come off so easily in like 25 minutes for all of them. Thx for watchin :-)
I have one question. Would you recommend this product for an overlay? i have long nails and i dont want to use tips just trying to find something to protect my nails and i prefer gel to acrylic. I saw this product at sallys just wasn't sure about it.
@blaqbuttafli i would DEFINITELY recommend as an overlay - i did that before. Just took the nails off when my own nails grew longer, and then used the gel to protect them. Thx for watchin!
@Mireyanomi31 Glad this vid inspired ya! Did you use a fine buffer? I have two buffers - one i rough to smooth out bumps, and the other is fine to finish the nail. Try that! :-)
I tried it the first time and they look ...ok not smooth on the beds as I wanted I think I was rushing and was too clue to the nail when I was curing.
How do you get the edges of the nails to look more like they fit? ...
@txb4u :-) Thx for watching! The edges of the nail? mmm..not too sure what you mean can u explain a little more? as for the smoothness, you really have to be sure to brush out the gel evenly, and most importantly buff when you're done.
Thanx Platinum! I had figured I was doing it too thick and that is why I had the air bubbles. This was my first time so I figure they will be better next time. Thank you again hun :)
When you apply the gel to your own nails without tips can you put colored polish over that? And will it last longer than polish on your regular nails?
@guystal You definitely can! You should see my nails right now - hot pink with designs ;) It won't last any longer than polish on your regular nails. The gel really just gives kinda like a protective layer to ur own nails so they don't break or crack as easily. I just make sure to lightly buff the nail surface so it's not super smooth, apply a base coat so the color doesn't stain the gel, 2 coats of polish, and a top coat to extend the life of the color.
Thanks for this video! I just finished my set but the two big issues I had was even though I set my brush in an acetone nail polish remover between each finger the brush harden! Did u have this problem? Also when I strayed the nail cure it had spots or holes where I sprayed and I did spray more than 6 inches away. :( But I made due and they turned out ok, could be better.
@honeyrain This is exactly what happened 2 me the first time I tried the set. Jus have enough acetone in the jar, & SWISH the brush around in it after each time. Holes/spots will be caused by bubbles being in the gel & they kinda burst when U spray. Bubbles can happen when U put 2 much gel on at once or not brushing/patting out the gel properly. Do thinner coats & B sure U don't see any bubbles b4 spraying. Don't spray more than 1x per coat of gel. U'll soon perfect it - trust me :-)
Does do gel damage the natural nail? My nails r a good size length but not strong enough & I want to use it as a overlay. Thx for ur time. Any tips will help Ive never done Anything like this so I'm a bit intimidated!
@Mireyanomi31 I actually took the tips off last week, and because my own nails had grown, i just applied the gel overlay. Just to protect them. Any type of service to your nails can damage them if you are not gentle. The key is, when buffing the nail bed, do it in one direction and lightly. You don't need to buff like crazy :-) Also when removing the nails, soak them in acetone, don't bite them off! I would def recommend using the gel (which is sold separately at Sally's) to just do an overlay.
@ssips720 When they start to grow in, i actually just do my own "fill". It's really easy - just lightly file, apply a little 'Line-B-Gone' that's also sold at Sally's and then apply the gel over the entire nail again as if i'm doing a new set. I will do a "Fill" video very soon :-)
@urbnistiq Hmmmmm....I don't think that regular nail polish remover will have the same effect. You'll prob have to soak for a long time before the brush softens enough to use again! You can get acetone at Walmart though..
Hey, I got this kit after watching your video, and I loved them. Ive had them on about 5 days now and yesterday and today and some of them have cracked. They look like they have shattered and some are cracking up. Do you know how to do them so they wont do that next time? maybe thicker layers? i dont know...
@laurenn1234 Hiya. This is exactly what happened to me after my first time. So it sounds like u didn't do a thick enough layer of the gel. Remember, i do like 3 or 4 layers. If it's too thin, it will crack prematurely. On your next go round, make sure to just do the layers thicker - AND i also suggest using a PRIMER to prevent lifting. Sally's sells them for like $7. Try this and let me kno how it goes! :-)

Oh i have another question... ok... so when you spray the cure on them... does the gel have to sit and dry a little or do you spray RIGHT AFTER you apply the gel (with the brush)? Reason i ask is because no matter what i did, they came out lumpy looking so i had to file and buff smooth. I sprayed from far away and it looked like the mist wasnt enough! *confused*
@casketcrewchick Hey girl. I don't let the gel sit before spraying. I find that when i do that, the gel moves around on the nail bed 2 much. So I DO spray RIGHT AFTER. Even though it looks like it isn't enuff, it really IS. As long as the spray isn't clogged, 1 spray from far away is enough. Make sure that the layer of gel U apply is even, & there are NO bubbles in the gel b4 spraying. Trust me, by the 2nd/3rd time you get the hang of what works from what doesn't.
@PlatinumLuvXoXo Thank you so much! I will try that this time around. Hope I can get these off this weekend. They are on pretty good- one cracked so far. been a week and a half. :) Thanks for replying!
Great video! I want to thank you for this... I got it last week after I already bought another gel kit (the Cosmar quik nails gel kit from CVS-- its ok but i hate the shape of the tips). anyways... I am about to use this kit (after i soak these other ones off). your nails look great and i hope mine come out as beautiful. i bought a little jar of black holographic nail stars so i might add them to the corner of my ring finger for a little extra something. :D
I'm so glad the vid helped you out, girl. I want to try the lil stars and stuff like that too. Probably pick some up on my next trip to Sally's...Let me know how it turns out!
your welcome ... oh btw I went to sallys and got the nail kit and a brush and did my nails i looooooove them.. my boy friend thought i got them done... this is gonna save me alot of money.. i even do my own designs thanks so if anyone is lookin for a great nail product then A.S.P Light-Less Gel Kit is the way to go.. and DONT FORGET TOBUY A BRUSH.
First off, girl your hair looks so cute! Don't be surprised if you see me with a similar style in one of my upcoming vids... lol... Second, thanks for the shoutout and your nails turned out really good. I think I will pick up this kit also. Thanks for the review.
Lol..thanks girl! The style is a little versatile. It's actually braided on both sides with hair down the middle so that I can rock a faux-hawk if I wang. I'd take it as a compliment if you did the style! And you ARE one of the motivating factors in me starting these vids, so the shoutout was def necessary!

Thanks tairakali. It's Outre Batik's Deep Wave down the middle and I cornrowed both sides with my own hair...
