  • Skinny Puppy=love

  • @dalebsorry I've been a fan of doubting thomas, I never really bothered to look into skinny puppy. God am I so disappointed with myself. Now It might be to late to catch one of they're shows, what a fucking shame.

  • Stage scenario reminds me of "From Beyond" by H.P. Lovecraft. Impeccable!

  • forever

  • is not what i waiting!!

  • Sorry I'm sure this has been answered already but I'm not looking back to find the answer, is this show on dvd? Be great if it was.

  • @TheNyteChyld Yes, this is part of a DVD. This whole show is actually the DVD.

  • are this guys industrial rock? i'm quite new to this genre, would appreciate a good explanation

  • @ezemvn Skinny puppy's newer material is a lot of industrial rock, hence the guitars and bass mixed with industrial electronics and samples. Their older material is more of just industrial music, a lot of it isn't that accesible because the guitars and basses were more reduced, more keyboards and samples covered the music and it definitly was noisier, not following proper musical structure and distorting much of it. You should check out some older stuff as well

  • both this show and the mythmaker tour were amazing.

  • Long live Ogre

  • awesome..

  • Too bad they're not doing this anymore :(

  • some of there songs are wo trippy!! like Dal and Haze, and a few others i cant think of the names but they were one of my favorite bands to get stoned to deffinatly :D the messages just speak to you

  • @dalebsorry mythmaker kills as well

  • @dalebsorry Very true, and well put. They flawlessly reinvent their sound and add something new and amazing with every album. This really is one of the greatest and most influential groups ever formed.

  • last two tours have been great...but I still miss the live guitar

  • Ogre Does't lip sync!

  • Ogre is sexy, hahaha

  • I have a theor on that. With a lot of live concerts filmed how this one was there are editing flaws like how in this his mask will chang from on his face to on top of his head in half a second. I also noticed similar problems during the dvd of Rammstein's tour in Volkerball.

  • He;s not lip syncing. If you did a little research you'd know that this video is made up of two shows, one in montreal, one in toronto. So there are some timing issues as they only use one audio track, and parts of two videos.

  • yeah liek if you noticed when tin omen was playyed Nivek Ogre had a head bandan on in parts of the video while in the otrher parts he didnt

  • He isn't necessarily lip syncing. I see what you're talking about, but I also noticed his hat is sometimes upright and sometimes in front of his eyes between different camera angles. I think it's just a sloppy video edit job, from what I can tell.

  • well actually he is not lip syncing, this dvd is a mixture of two shows one in montreal and other in toronto, so the guy who edited the concert did it kind of bad, because it seems like ogre is lip syncing but he is not , i got this dvd but i prefer Ain't It Dead Yet , skinny puppy forever.

  • @soadfan33 no, it's not lip syncing, it's just that this video was edited from two different performances (see how his hat is up and down from shot to shot sometimes).

  • <3 <3 <3 Caught this tour in NY and then later in Denver!!! Thx for the awesome Memories, SP!!!!

  • Great live band.

  • THE KINGS!!!!!!

  • Thank you so much for posting this!!

  • Greatest industrial band in the world...EVER!

  • i want the guitar used in this video

  • Beatiful. This song can always drive me to the hollow hole.

My fav from SP ;) Industrial is the best -.-

  • Molotov ur gonna go see them when they come to montreal nov 14?

  • Skinny Puppy's best music, imo ~2004, Album: Greater Wrong of the Right, had a near perfect balance of tone, melody, harmony, rhythm, and unprecedented production.

In this performance, they seamlessly blend analog instruments, such as voice, acoustic drums, electric and bass guitar, with digital instruments, such as drum machines, and pre-programmed sequences. Additionally, the fact they draw from numerous genres makes SP is an exquisitely unique listening experience... with post-modern lyrics!

  • i wana go see um but i look like a metalhead. ai i gona get my ass kicked by all you industrial dudes?

  • NO! We come in peace

  • I uploaded the album version of this (:

  • i'm thinking about seeing these guys live :?

  • DO IT

  • shit your right

but the chick i wanna drag wit me is grounded : [

  • yes they are a blast live

  • I love the song, one of my favorites from the album.

  • i'm more of a NIN kind of guy but skinny puppy is pretty cool

  • same here man!!! you have to admitt though skinny puppy is so cool.

  • jesus been a year since a comment on this well just thought i would break the ice

  • novemeber 11th oghr at the El rey theater Los Angeles...cant fucking wait.

  • Amazing performance one of the best performances ive ever seen live

  • I miss the old skinny puppy

  • what about doomsday? personally i think those recordings are better than anything they ever did in the studio

  • Wow Skinny is an essential for anyone who likes industrial haha i remember the first time i listened to them it was one of the best days of my life

  • same here i felt like i was listening to the best band ever and they r

  • Me too. Life changing!

  • Yeah gwotr was great, but mythmaker was quite a disappointment to me. 12" Anthology is my personal favorite of their cd's. SP

  • N-N-N-N-NOSTALGIA!

  • try haveing the DVD and then seeing your self init

  • how does Ogre make his voice all distorted liek that

  • cevin key is controlling yes?

  • actually im looking to see him in repo! he's in a video on youtube wearing a facemask with long hair the video is called at the opera tonight.

  • neck yourself

  • are you fucking kidding me? agreed: go neck yourself

  • Ogre is a madman! I can't wait to see his side project play live next month. Has anybody seen Ohgr live? Is the stage show as trippy? I plan on getting some doses to enhance to the show.

  • Whore4Horror, i saw ohGr several times for the tour for his 1st solow album, Welt. that was a while back ago, so i don't remember everthing about the shows. i don't think it's as trippy as Puppy shows, tho he still used masks/costumes & still put his all into the performances like with Puppy. no blood & less gore from what i remember, but trust me when i say that you will not be disappointed seeing oGr live. i loved all the shows i saw already & am excited to see him again on the upcoming tour!

  • ogre's hand motions are cool

  • i first listened to the album version and liked it cause of the drums.

    hahaha, they're even better live!!

  • The studio version of this song sounds limp in comparison to the live version. I don't know why they don't use a live drummer in their studio more often....

  • i was at the cinci & columbus, oh gigs for

    this tour.

and that blond photog was at both. btw

altho they played the same set columbus was way better. SP!!

  • this concert looks fucking epic!

  • I WAS THERE!!!! IN TORONTO...

  • Actually in response to an earlier poster I would have to recommend either "Last Rights" and "Too Dark Park" as their best albums. After this I would have to say, in order:

    3) Cleanse, Fold and Manipulate

    4) Bites

    5) Mind: The Perpetual Intercourse

    6) VivisectVI

Sorry to say this but everything after The Process doesn't compare - good or even great songs here and there, but no amazing albums like the ones listed above. Goettel, the genius keyboardist, is sorely missed.

  • Why is everyone obsessed with rating Skinny Puppy albums in order on Youtube? I love all their music, and the newest couple of albums are the best to me. I don't just plop one ontop of another in a rated list, though. I think that's kind of ignorant.

  • I'm not a big fan of the way Ogre waves his hand around like he's rapping lol

  • Thats been something he has done since the eighties, also he happens to be quite the fan of hip hop!

  • I never said it was anything new, I just said I don't like it, especially since its largely the only movement he does while delivering his lines.

  • dont know why so many are thumbing this comment down its true he is a hiphop fan

  • i think it's cool dude...at least he does something original instead of leaning on the mic stand.

  • I agree.

I think it looks cool. xD

  • I love the gestures he makes during live performances.

  • he loves the tourniquet ms?

  • i think mythmaker was great and i went to this greater wrong of the right tour. i met these guys and they are really cool

  • i went to this one. this song was one of the best performances of the night!

  • Saw them a couple times on this tour, but not at this particular performance. That's really cool you were there though, this song is amazing, I can imagine it was a highlight of the show!

  • You know, I'm sure that I had a pair of goggles like that in Primary school...

  • As do I. I've never really talked to anyone about it, and I'm sure if I did they'd make me see someone who'd blame it on chemical imbalance, but I know there must be more to it.

  • Lately I noticed I wanna kill myself for no bloody reason, like I'm going insane, I hardly sleep at all even If I use sleeping pills, This song somewhat describes how I feel

  • I've noticed that after 3:00 his "head" is on and up at the same time, depending on the camera view.

  • You're right. What the hell is up with that?

  • It says there that this is mixed footage from two shows.

  • Yeh, I noticed that too. Probably just the way it was edited.

  • whoops, sorry totenhosen, that was me (JaneInCatland) replying, i was just signed in to my other account.

  • Thanks totenhosen for your response. I think Puppy's past couple tours have still had that blood, guts & gore aspect, just presented in a different way than the past. While I don't agree 100% with your inital post, I did find the 'cookie monster' comment funny. Ogre would sound so cute if he sang "C is for Cookie". lol! But seriously, I always appreciate what they do. They're one of the best bands around IMO. I really love Ogre's vocals on this track & think the song is really strong. Brap on :)

  • I appreciate your opinion, but your comment frustrates me a bit only cause when ppl don't like when a band is going in a new direction (esp a band that has been around for a long time) they complain about it. And yet, if Puppy still sounded like they did when they first came out, ppl would complain that they haven't progressed or moved on. It's like they can't win. As a long time Puppy fan, I do prefer their older stuff, but I love this song, & it has lots of passion, raw emotion & sorrow in it

  • i am glad that they are still making music. Kinda theatrical but interestingly progressive. Totally sounds different than their earlier albums. Thumbs UP.

  • This is the first Skinny Puppy song I've ever heard (4 days ago). And it is awesome. Especially his vocals. Do they really sound like that all the time? That's fucking amazing.!

  • Look up two of their old albums, "Mind: The Perpetual Intercourse" and "Rabies" for the old school Skinny Puppy that I remember. I really loved "Warlock" from the album "Rabies". I'm not really familiar with this new stuff. This seems more like singing. The old stuff was more growling and lyrics that didn't seem to mean anything.

  • "and lyrics that didn't seem to mean anything". Can you clarify that? If you meant the lyrics were hard to understand, than I can agree to that. But if you really mean the lyrics didn't seem to mean anything, you should take a deeper listen. Songs like 'First Aid', 'Deep Down Trauma Hounds', 'Testure', 'VX Gas Attack', (and too many more to mention), meant A LOT lyrically! Ogre is a genuis of a poet!

  • I know that any lyricist has a subject in mind when writing a song. I never meant to imply that SP's lyrics don't "mean" anything. My point was that the lyrics are structured in a non-traditional way that may seem like nonsense to the casual listener. Whereas, a "mainstream" lyricist (I'm sure we can all agree that SP is ANYTHING but "mainstream") would write a line in complete sentences. Actually, I applaud SP for being pioneers in how they structured their lyrics.

  • Thanks for clarifying what you meant markohio. I agree that Puppy is exceptional in not only the way they structure their lyrics, but also the way they are sung. For example, 'First Aid' comes to mind when I think of the way Ogre emphasises the "I" "S" & "E" sounds in the line "monogomY SitS uneaSilY, IcE that don't hEat frEEZE". The way that's pronounced really adds to the mood & intent of the lyrics. It gives it a hissing & cold like effect. Ogre is bloody brilliant I tell ya! & sexy too ;)

  • Hey WahtTheHellsSka! Welcome to the world that is Skinny Puppy! So cool you like this song, it's awesome, ain't it? No, they don't sound like this all the time, on their older albums, there was a lot more distortion to Ogre's vocals. If I had to recommend an older album to a new Puppy Person, I suggest "Vivisectvi", and "Remission". A lot of people like "Rabies" but that has more guitar in it. Their earlier works were more stripped down and electronic. "Audio Sculpture" as Puppy used to call it.

  • this song is the best...

  • fuck your mother you piece of shit, this song is fuckin bad ass

  • this is a fucking great song

  • This is a great song....very good noise for sure. the puppies know all about noise. That is was industrial is all about. mixing the samples and powerful music and noise and anger. been listening for 20 yrs to the stuff.

  • So I was wondering, is there any meaning behind the new, funkily misspellt song names, or is that just for...fun?

  • This song fuking rocks

  • this songs fuckin awsome

  • Doesn't he just have the best voice

  • This is pretty good. I think the Great Wrong album is all too often unfairly brushed off.

  • It's one of my favorites. Quite honestly, I think a lot of their really old stuff sometimes just sounds like noise. Not all of it, but quite a bit of it. Why so many people prefer noise to this, I will never know.

  • Because, to be fair, stuff like Vivisect VI is indeed noise, just very well crafted noise. Not many bands can get people to dance to the sound of middle eastern kids being gassed or cute fulffy animals being tortured. Skuppy can, however :D

  • Oh yeah, don't get me wrong. I LOVE noise. I listen to lots of noise-sampling artists like Autechre and Aphex Twin. I'm not talking about noise like sounds that are sampled. I sample sounds myself to make music. I'm merely talking about mindless BOOM CLASH noise that's just trying to be as loud and heavy as it can. Like some forms of really mindless metal. I'm not saying all their old stuff is like that, but I think that they've gotten more sophisticated as time has gone by.

  • You speak the truth.

  • they prefer it because at the time every band was a carbon copy of another band, it was different and new, skinny puppy are pioneers of music and i dont think anyone will make as big of a difference to industrial as they have

  • Industrial is supposed to be noise, are you familiar with the concept of anti-music?

  • omg dont even say that. industrial music, is in fact music. i think i know what you mean by anti-music, but it is indeed music, it just isn't mainstream and regurgitated like most music is. they come out with good beats. life is music, birds singing, are music. industrial music, is not noise. NOISE, or NOIZE music, is NOISE. but it is still music. have some respect for the hard trying work that goes along with creativity :)

  • Of course industrial is supposed to be noisy. Sometimes it's just not very intelligent noise, though. Like I said above, I love noise, so you're really taking my comment the wrong way. I just think that they've gotten way more sophisticated as time has gone by.

  • Wow I've been listening to these guys for quite a while....Never ever seen a video of them in concert....they do pretty damn good....There is more to these guy than meets the eye...or ear........

  • i think this song sounds better live

  • You're kidding right?

  • there is nothing wrong with rediculous outfits.

  • so tell me, were they better back when they started

and are they just a bunch of addicts now?

  • They cleaned up between The Process and The greater wrong of the right.

The most they do these days is weed. Drugs was one of the reason the band broke up durring the making of The process. When they got back together they'd cleaned themselves up.

  • His voice...i love it...

  • The outfit is ridiculous... But I love Skinny Puppy, and I have for many, many years. Just because he may sound a little off doesn't reflect the band all of the time.

It happens to the best of them.

Skinny Puppy is still fucking amazing. Period.

  • I love his outfit too..

  • His voice is so beautiful.

  • I love the old stuff, and the new. SP still remains great.

  • I looveeee Nivek Ogre...he's so fucking beautiful.

  • Wipe off mother's milk first. Your opinion is unnecessary.

  • beat my head to wake up cause I feel as if I'm sleeping past is in the heart and I am waiting for the rhythm feed the holy jaws no saying pain is the answer after all is gone the story leaves me feeling empty and all alone it leaves me feeling emptE breathe we are all animals inside free the spirit is alive to guide us we're all alone and really feeling empty we're all alone when all revenge falls apart taken a step back from the start leaves me feeling empty IT (((((((((LYRICS))))))))))

  • i actually synced this with the Studio version, they stayed perfectly on beat and everything with the studio version, i was SO surprised...

  • That's because they most likely all play to a click track in their monitors/ear-pieces. It's very common in Industrial/synth bands.

  • well right, cause its sampling, you cant expect cEvin to hit the enter key on his Macbook every time a sample is supposed to come up

  • I would pay someone to make swampycricket not exist.

  • Fucking love this song... I love how Ogre is trying to sing, its so beautiful.

  • cant they get a better costume good song tho

  • if anyone hates or dislikes them then dont even watch the vid or bother to leave a comment

  • swampycricket shut the fuck up.If you dont like it why waste your time leaving a comment.

    SKINNY PUPPY FUCKING RULES!

  • I agree, you can't beat classic Puppy, it's very disturbing and never fails to make me dance.

On the other hand, "The Greater Wrong..." is a very haunting and beautiful album which isn't strictly industrial but I like it.

  • I've been a fan of Skinny Puppy almost two decades. They're amazing as ever (with the Mythrus tour too). Fortunately (Unfortunate for some) their music will always only appeal to people who are open to their creative energy. This is an amazing song and performance.

  • what would some who likes shit like senses fail know about music?

  • This comment comes from someone who has Linking Park in his favourites. Little Shithead!

    Case dismissed.

  • Nobody likes you. You're a faggot. Go die.

  • El dvd de skinny puppy que sacaron en septiembre del 2005 definitivamente fue lo mejor que me pudo pasar ya que tenia muchos problemas personales y con esta musica me senti relajado con mayor aceptacion hacia la vida.

  • their old stuff will always be better then the new but im glad they came back to do more. they are amazing live especially the crowd around you. there is so much respect and love towards skinny puppy. i love Cevin he is so beautiful, i just cant believe i was so close to him.......but i was told hes a jerk when hes drunk, but i still love him anyways.

  • well part of the reason that the old was better than the new was probably Dwayne Goettel, and as it is dead guys can't really be in bands. The greats just don't live as long as they should

  • yea i wish the greats could last forever but thats why they are caled the gretas. i wish he never died:*(

  • ogre changed my life!greets from germany

  • Im still glad the their jammin, touring and cranking out cd's..same with Frontline, kmfdm, thrill kill kult..

  • N!V€K_OGR€ IS DA MAN

  • hahahah i agree man...but that probably wont happen either...lol.

  • ive opened up parts of my mind to things in SP and found beauty beyond words. i think the idea now is to open the heart in the same way. I could be wrong

  • Well, I don't know if this new is worse or better, just....don't like it xDDD. I respect the band artistic decisions , oK, but I would like to know, if the new fans that like songs like pro-test, or this Empte, for example....would like songs like dig it, spasmolitic, Killing game, etc.....Just curiosity ^^

  • im thinking this is a close favorite. mhmm mhmm.

  • my god...i cant WAIT to see them when they come to houston!

why don't more people know about this band?????

  • Definitely, Skinny Puppy should be ended with "The process"....don`t like anything of the new material.

  • You may agree with yourself, but believe it or not, other people DO HAPPEN to like Skinny Puppy's new material. But yeah, their old stuff is better.

  • awesome!!

  • I love how he is acting out Copernicus with his suit. Very cool.

  • i like the live version better than the studio version.

  • this is fav skinny puppy song!!!!!!!!! EmpTe Rox!!!!!!

  • without skinny puppy, there wont be nine inch nails at all. skinny puppy's much more talented than ministry too!

  • this was FUCING amazing, thanks for sharing.

    gotta love Empte-
