Hi, this is Euro Truck Simulator. Instead, get UK Truck Simulator, the whole game is based in only UK! I have this game it's good, but it gets a bit boring after driving long distances :)
You have to buy a permission (toll) in the game to be able to go to other countries, like England. It's 1 permission per extra country, which can get pretty d*mn expensive. Quite unrealistic, too, at that part; toll's not in Europe anymore.

i downloaded this game on me pc an it loads up fine but the mouse freezes alot of the times but i can still click on things but it takes ages an wen i get to the showroom to choose a truck it always freezes!!! can sum1 help

at first sight it seems ETS is so good, but drive on keyboard looking so bad, almost terrible. so unrealistic handling, this is the most failure of this game.
Bad graphics, trucks look shity, all the countryis are the same, handling is CATASTROPHIC, trucks accelerate way to fast, and shift too fast, maps are too small, all roads the same, only highways, no small roads....simply sucks
Can't disagree with most of that but I still like playing it for some strange reason. If only the trucks had better physics, it would be much more enjoyable.
I thik thw game is pretty awesome, once patches are released and more options become available, the game will become even better! I don't know why you think the graphics are shit.... Mine are superb..

i think it will work..any card that support TnL & openGL 1.5 and above will do the job...because i believe all SCS driving games is rendered via openGL not direct3D..Geforce 5500FX can handle 2007 18 WOS American Long Haul at MAX setting...just the shader quality will determine the game performance perhaps..i've own all 18 WOS games and one of a modder for this game =D☻
it should be okay...8600 support an openGL 2.0 and met the recommended requirement that start with gefore 6xxx family..im using 8500GT right now,and found no problem with it yet especially with games rendered by openGL..
i suggest u disable verticle sync/force it off,set conformant texture clamp to 'Use openGL specification,set texture filtering to 'performance'..whenever u make tight turns there is more texture to be render per frame that is not well rendered when it is not in view before (noticed lagging when rotating outside camera while playing/rotating camera cab view to left when backview is shown in side mirror)..i usually play in cab view.its increase FPS..trust me,it work..

I have to agree with you. Why does anyone think that a long distance driving simulator would be fun? It's not like you're going to see any spectacular scenery! Does this also simulate getting stuck in a traffic jam for hours while you desperately need to piss?
No, but it's up to the user... Take flight sim for example... it's even less interesting (during the actual flight that is, when the aircraft is on auto-pilot), yet it's still a big hit... it's fun to pretend I guess...
Yeah ok that's a fair point, sorry! It's just that I've spent a couple of years as a courier driver and I honestly think there's very few things more tedious than motorway driving. If this sim includes winding mountain roads and some challenging driving then it might make it a bit more fun but if it's just major roads....well ok..how about you tell me what aspects appeal to you :)

Do you know what kind of physics the trucks have? Any damage? And to AI vehicles?
to tell u the truth, i get quite bored of each of the trucking sims i have played within the first month. the physics really aren't all that great, and the worlds are pretty standard, but for the first 2 weeks of the game i feel happy as shit... now that i think about it, i don't think i've played any truck sim by this company for more than a month at a time. :)

No, but it's up to the user... Take flight sim for example... it's even less interesting (during the actual flight that is, when the aircraft is on auto-pilot), yet it's still a big hit... it's fun to pretend I guess...

Yeah ok that's a fair point, sorry! It's just that I've spent a couple of years as a courier driver and I honestly think there's very few things more tedious than motorway driving. If this sim includes winding mountain roads and some challenging driving then it might make it a bit more fun but if it's just major roads....well ok..how about you tell me what aspects appeal to you :)

Yea i know what you mean, my father is a trucker and it's easy to tell he doesnt enjoy it. But there's something appealing about it when you're not forced to do it to put food on the table. It's hard to explain.

Ah..yeah well i re-read that comment and realised i came across like a bit of an arse and a hypocrite since i enjoy games that make other people can't stand (flight,racing and military sims) so I don't really know why I put that 1st comment :( I'm even interested in this game since I saw it on a sim site but I wonder how long it will hold my attention unless the cities are of a GTA4 level of detail. Do you know what kind of physics the trucks have? Any damage? And to AI vehicles?

to tell u the truth, i get quite bored of each of the trucking sims i have played within the first month. the physics really aren't all that great, and the worlds are pretty standard, but for the first 2 weeks of the game i feel happy as shit... now that i think about it, i don't think i've played any truck sim by this company for more than a month at a time. :)
