Old WB New CW

I grew up watching the WB for Buffy and cartoons, UPN the same for wwe wrestling and star trek. The merger killed the goose that layed the rotten egg. CW will be dead in 2016.

WB will always be better. It's the network I grew up with and at least WB didn't have an awful president for the first yrs. The guy in charge now is doing a good job trying to turn it around, but the previous president tried to kill Smallville and WWE.

I think the CW has had several shows worth watching:

Veronica Mars (hit-or-miss)

Smallville (good)

Supernatural (outstanding)

Next Top Model (not my style but very popular with teens)

Gossip Girl (ditto)

90210 (as good as the original)

That's better than WB's first four years (mostly trash with one good show called Buffy)

@harleykman Veronica Mars, Supernatural, ANTM and Smallville were all WB and UPN shows, not CWs. So yeah, they're worth watching, but give the old network some credit. They're the ones that made them. CW can only recreate old films/TV shows (Melrose Place, Nikita, 90210) and books (Gossip Girl, to an extent--Vamp. Diaries is from Twilight), and all of those arn't The CW's most popular. They'd be nothing without their WB shows.

supernatural is by far and away the best show on the cw. smallville's second though. those two shows have the strongest ratings for the network. them and one tree hill.

GOD! I miss the WB (and the coolest frog ever! XD) so much! I used to watch teh WB religiously; now, basically never. I catch Smallville every now (cause of Chloe) and then but it sucks ass now - too much love life drama and Michael's leaving; how can you have a show about Superman's early years without his arch nemesis? UGH! And both One Tree Hill & Gossip Girl are this generations 90210/Melrose Place odd mix crap. Can't stomach either of them. The cults of the WB can never be replaced, ever!

I don't think so. The WB has launched the cultest shows ever on television history. The CW just can't bring back all these memories or make new cult shows. When WB signed off the whole outlook of the remaining shows changed. The WB shows are just irreplaceable.

Combining the WB and UPN into the CW is like puking on a pile of shit. Both networks sucked even though only the first season of the WB in 1995 had some good shows. So thye think merging the two is their only solution. Yeah right! Fox owns ALL of broadcast TV!

Don't forget 24 and Prison Break. Those are kick ass shows. Family Guy is hilarious too. With those shows and The Simpsons, compared to the CW, well....FOX is bette IMO. And FOX was good since the begining, which was in the late 80s. UPN wasn't good at all. And the WB had only a few good shows during its first season in 95.
